Hi All,
I have a question regarding N400 Oath ceremony schedules. I had my interview on the 29th of October and i passed the interview. but after 2 weeks i still have not received any letter for Oath ceremony.
My online status shows as below and estimated wait time says 3 months. does it mean i have to wait 3 months to get the Oath done?
Interview office is Saint Louis.
Thank you for your help.
I waited mine for 6 weeks, some people wait 6 days. It depends on your area and also on the type of the ceremony (judicial or not)

Does anyone know how soon after interview if successful it is normal for Oath Ceremony to be scheduled ?
Depends on your case and where you applied. I had a name change and am a resident of Virginia, mine took 6 weeks to schedule and 4 more weeks to wait unit the oath.

How does one determine where their oath ceremony takes place (Alexandria v DC Courthouse)?
I did not request a name change and had my application approved 09/25/2019. I live in DC proper as well.
Alexandria court house only does judicial ceremonies (the ones with the name change)

Got an update this morning that my interview was scheduled. This was from the case tracker app. checked it up and it said "your interview is schedule and check the mail for the notice". I checked the new site to see if the notice had uploaded but nothing. I will wait and see.
Congrats!!! It will most likely be uploaded the next day, at least mine was

Hello!
We thought it would only ask for 3 years, but it specifically asks for 5.
And yes, Iraq is his home country.
Thank you for responding!
It asks for 5, because the form n400 is the same fore both people filing out under 5 year rule and under 3 year rule. If I were you i would fill it out for 5 years, it’s not going to change anything.

Hi Everyone!
We are filling out N-400 for my husband through marriage. We have been married three years, and are within the 90 day period for applying.
When we go to fill out the “Travel Outside of US” section, my husband is having overlapping dates because it asks for five years. His dates are below:
-left US (graduated and went back home) 2/4/2015, arrived back (K1) 7/16/16
-Travelled to Turkey from home country 5/1/2015, returned to home country 5/12/15
-Travelled to Turkey from home country 8/27/15, returned from home country 9/8/15
-Travelled from US to Iraq 6/12/18, returned to US 6/25/18
-Travelled from US to Iraq 6/6/19, returned to US 6/23/19
My first question is when it states overlapping dates is this going to be a problem?
My second question is it is telling us he has so many days outside of the country in the past five years, but will they be only looking at the dates in the past three years since that’s the requirement through marriage?
Thank you!
If I remember correctly, if you are filling out the application based on 3 year marriage, you only need to show the travels since you husband got to the states and married you.
Also, is Iraq his home country? Just curious, since I heard that US advise it’s citizens not to travel there

So for changing the surname would be the same?
Any name change goes through court, so yes

Can anyone who recently experienced this tell how much time it took for the whole process after submitting online application to interview and then to get oat ceremony with a Name Change? (Fairfax field, VA office). How much the process gets delay because of name change?
I’m a transfer from SF, so I can only tell you about the timing between an interview and an oath with a name change. I had my interview on July 13th, and was recommended for a citizenship on the spot, and my oath is on September 26th, so 2 and a half months after the interview.

Thank you @afrocraft for your prompt response. I live in Alexandria, but will probably have my interview at the washington field office which is in Fairfax VA. I heard that some people take the oath ceremony the same day as their interview and you won't have to wait for a later on ceremony. I do not if it is case by case or if it was something the field office was doing before and stopped currently.
I wouldn’t worry about it too much, waiting a few weeks is not a big deal i hope

Hi Everyone,
My husband was approved for the oath ceremony last month following his citizenship interview. They told us it would take up to 2 months for him to receive the letter, and we're still within that time frame. However, as of Monday, I can no longer pull up his case status online. When I enter in the receipt number, we only see the image of "my" with the scrolling lines and no updates. Does USCIS close out online case status once they issue an oath letter, is this a bug, or should we be concerned? Thanks!
It’s just a glitch. Open your browser in private mode - it helped.

Congrats!!! Is this a judicial ceremony or administrative one? I am guessing the latter as it doesnt fall on the 3rd Thursday of the month
@Jamie and Amparo, this ceremony is on the day of your interview so I hope you get lucky and can take the oath that same day!!!
Judicial :))taking a middle name!
It is weird that it’s not on the third thursday, maybe they are doing more ceremonies to help with the back log.

Naturalization is scheduled September 26th!

I don't see that field on the form... just interview notice date and interview date, then just oath date no oath notice date?
Interview July 13th
Application approved July 13th
Status Online changed to “we scheduled your naturalization ceremony” on August 27th
i do not know the date yet, but I assume it’s going to be september 19th, since alexandria court schedules them every 3d Thursday of the month

How long after interview are people getting oath notifications?
Hi! See above

My update - I had an interview on July 13th and just got an update (6.5 weeks later) that my naturalization ceremony is scheduled! I have a feeling that it will be on September 19th, since I requested a name change, and Alexandria court holds ceremonies every 3d Thursday of the month.
-
Hi guys! I passed my interview on July 13th, and the officer said that since I am changing my name my oath will be @ Alexandria Court, and it will take 5-6 weeks. It's been 5 weeks already and nothing. Alexandria court has oath ceremonies only once a month. Anyone had any experience with them? How long is this going to take?
-
Hi guys! Just an update. I have moved from SF to VA, and did my change of address, and just had my interview on July 13th. It was very fast (27 minutes from walking into the building to leaving the building). The officer was very friendly. I have requested a name change (adding a middle name) so I have to wait for Alexandria court oath ceremony, which will take a few months. They only have them once a month. Still, the hardest part seems to be done

Hi everyone! Had my interview in Fairfax office on July 13th! It was very quick and the officer was very professional yet friendly. Took 27 minutes from walking into the building to walking out of it.
Since I requested a name change, my oath ceremony will be in Alexandria court. They only have oath ceremonies once a month (every 3d Thursday). The officer said it will take 5-6 weeks to get my oath scheduled. Does anyone have any experience with this? I know most people here waited for a very long time.

Usually Judicial ceremonies are smaller so they do take longer to get scheduled. Mine was judicial.
