I have already paid aos n filled out ds261 no problem aos says paid already says pay on iv but when click pay nothing..so weird

just wondering is anyone else having problems paying iv fee? they pay tab is there i click on it and when it goes to the next page theres nothing no name no fee no box to select. my aos fee went fine and i have completed the choose an agent form also with no problem

Actually once it goes to nvc u do ask them for it but it is up to the us embassy if u get ir or not..we were just denied I think because we were expedited by uscis and it only been 2 months since we stated this journey...they probably think its going fast enough and comparing to a lot of people it is and I am grateful good luck

It definitely looks like they reviewed the IV package. The checklist for the AOS package is a false checklist (they just haven't gotten to it yet), so no worries on that part. The police certificate though is the important part as it seems like they missed it.

Since they're two different tracks that have nothing to do with one another, then it doesn't matter which is done first.

Yes, the petitioner can fill out the DS-261 on behalf of the beneficiary. Many people do, especially with beneficiaries in countries with unreliable internet, or a language barrier.

Remember, the DS-230 isn't accepted anymore. You have to fill out the DS-260 online. (Although filling out a DS-230 ahead of time is a good idea, so you have most of the answers). For the education question, you start with high school and go up. You skip elementary school.

I don't know about the police certificate. Mine didn't require a picture. All I know is the actual pictures you have to submit have to be taken within the previous 6 months. But, for the PCC, unless it states somewhere on it the date the picture was taken, NVC will have no idea when it was taken.

There's no express checklist line. It's the same wait time as the original package submission.

well it actually does have the date at the bottom of the pic covered mostly by the official stamp they put on it. we are also submitting the recent photographs they ask for that have to be within 6 months...do you think this would be a problem should he redue the police certificate with current pic or should i call nvc and ask them if it will be accepted..thanks for your help

Hi saylin can u tell me does it matter which one u complete first the aos or the iv package? I am in egypt with my husband but will be going back to states dec 5th because i am expecting our first child and need to see the dr. this is the issue he is not good with filling paperwork out and i would like to have the ds261 done before i leave here is it possible for me to fill it out for him ..we have filled the ds230 to go off of it and i also have a couple questions bout that form where they ask about the eductional institutions he has attended do they mean colleges and such or do they mean to include where he went to elementary thru high school as well? also on the police certificate my husband went to apply for it and didnt realize he needed a picture also but by chance he had one in his wallet that was from last year and they took it with no problem and he picked up his police cert a few days later do you think there will be a problem since the pic is not current like his other ones like on our marriage cert and that went with our g-325?

Also in your cover letter make sure you let them know you are out of the county with your husband but your permanent address is your united states one sign up for email updates and you should be ok again good luck

Hi was wondering if i have to count my kids as household members on the i-864 as they dont live with me.i have read that i have to count them even if they dont live with me... and if i have to will that be a problem for me or my joint sponsor? i dont make enough money to sponsor my husband so i have to have a joint sponsor. does filling out i-864a make that person a second joint sponsor also. as my joint sponsor is adding her sons income with hers and will fill out that form between him and her but on i-864 it ask if she is the only joint sponsor or the first of two joint sponsor

Hmmm...that's odd. We were told by USCIS to do the DS-230 in some of our paperwork, but now they want us to do the DS-260. LOL..typical...things are not even consistent coming from them. The DS-260 and 261 are the online ones. So, just do what they told you to do. As far as if he is receiving the money, then she probably does need to list him as a co-sponsor, at least that's what I understand from reading the paperwork...

well i know they have to fill out i-864a because they are combining income but not for sure if that makes him a joint sponsor or not?

i emailed nvc to ask them but no response yet just trying to make sure we got everything together i hate this process lol

what about sending translated copies as well as in police marriage and birth certificates?

ok regarding ds-230 i was told this is a old form they dont use anymore but on dept of state it says its for diversity visas and andCuban Family Reunification Parole applications only)we have to fill out ds260 and ds261is what i have been told am i wrong and is all the info that is suppose to be put on these forms about him? and on my sponsors sons income yes she does receive it she is his payee.

Hey Luv! Yay...December isn't too far away! So let me try to answer you here...

1. NVC communicates via email on only a few items, unless you're in a specific group of countries. (http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_5162.html) Egypt doesn't appear to be one of them. So, most likely, you'll be doing this via the regular mail. (I'd recommend using FedEx or something to be SURE everything gets to NVC.)

2. I'm not 100% sure, but, as I understand it...this is my best answer: she could list the income as her income if she receives the payments. However, if the payments are made TO the son, then he would probably be considered a co-sponsor. The thing is...if he's disabled, maybe he can't be, legally speaking--he may not have the "ability" to make such a judgment...if you know what I mean. If you want to message me privately, if you have more info...then I can try to help you out. I do know what you mean about that form--it is VERY confusing. I had to spend 2+ hours on it and redid it and spent another 3 hours fixing it....never had such trouble with a form...

3. Take most of the stuff with you, but leave him with one copy of your marriage certificate. You also need one to send in to NVC. Read this for help on what you will need to send: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/EZGuideSpouse ... also, have him fill out the DS-230 with you and bring the signed and unsigned parts WITH you so that you can send them all in from here...that form is a pill, so, I'd do it now and get it out of the way...You can't save it and you have to do it on a PDF. You also can't write on it.

4. Everything that is not in English MUST be translated. Don't send it in without a translation or you will get a checklist, which will only delay you. You can have your husband do it if he is fluent in English and Arabic (and any other languages that the documents may be in)...is he? If he is, you can have him do the certification himself and they will accept it, which is cool. I can send you a link to that if you need the text. I asked the same question about whether I have to send another copy of the translation and the answer is YES...another copy, but you can just use the translation you already sent. But, they do want originals of everything now....which is a pain.

Do not worry--the questions you are asking are all reasonable and fair. I asked all of them in the NVC forums. You should join us there, actually. They'll be posting a new one for November...as soon as it's posted, I'll post the link to invite you. (No point in joining October, I don't think, since it's ending tomorrow...)

I sent a copy of mine with I-130 u should never send original unless asked I am inquiring about my spouses as his is the nvc will be asking for at this stage. And don't they have our whole file does uscis not send the whole thing to nvc?
