  1. Hi everyone,

I filed for my mom on April 15 and got an update on May 15th that the case is being actively reviewed. I haven't gotten any more updates since then. But the thing is we had to file an expedite request due to an emergency in August and the request was approved right away. But it's been 4 months already since that and the case is still untouched. I have tried to call and used the online chat feature but they can't tell me anything specific. I'm getting ready to submit form 7001 to the ombudsman and have already contacted the state representatives. Do you guys have any advice what else we could to do speed things up? Have any of you tried to contact the service center directly? Our petition is in Nebraska service center. Thanks for any advice you could give me.

  2. Hello everyone! I have some exciting news to share :) Today a little after 5pm I got a text notification from uscis that my case status has been updated. So I immediately had to check on the case tracker app and there it was! It says New Card Is Being Produced!!! I could not believe my eyes. It was on the second receipt number that was showing February 28 glitch. My # is WAC17091001XX

Filed at CSC Dec 28, 2016

NOA letter was date Dec 30 but I received it Jan 7, 2017 (so had to correct my timeline about that).

Had to get an I-551 stamp in my passport Feb 27, 2018.

Did not receive any RFE nor had to go for an interview. Funny thing is we are selling our house and I was freaking out if changing the address would cause further trouble and possibly have the card lost in the mail. But now I feel so relieved it actually is in the works and should have it soon. Good luck everyone and hope you have good news soon :)

    Hi everyone!

I'm updating the list since I just got NOA in the mail :) Couldn't be happier!

  4. Thanks for clearing the air on that. we didnt get a form attached to the RFE letter.

will go ahead and fill it out electronically then print. I'm banking on my medical insurance to cover costs, hopefully no co-pay needed

when did you get yours done and how long has it taken since you have followed up?

My appointment is for tomorrow in the afternoon so will see how it goes. I will have to ask if my medical insurance will cover it.

  5. Now here our concern. my wife was about to make the appointment with the civil surgeon this morning until i realized the medical form on the uscis site (i-693) is not an updated version.

    it expired 1/31/2015.

she says it wont matter but i'm trying to be very meticulous.

Any suggestions before we go ahead

    thanks guys

They mailed me a copy of that form in the letter and it's dated the same so don't worry. Did you find out how much it's going to cost you? Mine is 135$. Wish it was cheaper.

  6. I'm curious (not being picky, I just want to know) - did your letter actually say it had expired? My letter said to redo the vaccinations, but I never managed to figure out why. Could have been they lost my paperwork, something wasn't ticked etc.

Also, since my case ended up inYakima, WA, which is apparently the middle of woop woop by USPS standard, my 'overnight' mail Thursday morning arrived on Monday. I got to the other side of the world in half that time! However, a few hours after it arrived in Yakima it my GC was approved. Just took them another 24hrs to tell me. So, the end is in sight :)

Actually it doesn't say expired that was my interpretation since I know it did :) The letter says exactly this: "To complete processing of the Form I-485 for the above named beneficiary, please provide an updated Form I-693 (Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Report) to include updated immuniation report. Go to any of the physicians listed on the attached sheet to complete the Form I-693. Please provide the above requested documentation by the date listed above. Mail the completed Form I-693 to the mailing address listed above by June 3, 2015. Failure to provide the requested documentation by the listed date will result in denial of the application"

Now it got me thinking could this be just for one flu shot like Shell said!? If so I'm glad I saved the paperwork when I got mine a few months ago. I hope they don't need me to do all the x-rays and blood tests again...

  7. So what was the address on the RFE or where do they want you to send your response? Even though NBC and you are neighbors, you never know what bizarre FO they'll send it to. Within minutes of receiving your Med form, you will receive your welcome to America message. You are on the bubble to be our next GC holder. FedEx your response, it will be worth the money...

Yeah, now that you asked it did seem kind of odd to me to see that letter mailed from Las Vegas, Nevada. And the weird thing is it was addressed to my wife not me even tho I'm supposed to update my medical.

  8. Finally some movement on our case. I got a letter yesterday dated March 6th that I need to update my medical since it expired. Well duh! It's been over a year since I had my medical and they just got to our case. So I have an appointment with a civil surgeon on Monday and hopefully everything will be ready the same day so I can mail it back. The funny thing is I got that letter as they call it continuation notice along with my work permit renewal confirmation letter lol So not sure which one I will get first the green card or my second work permit.. Anyway I'd like to keep positive thinking so fingers crossed for everybody expecting a happy ending of this long wait.

  9. That's great news! Your case has finally made it to a field office. Now you just need to hope that someone picks it up and processes it sooner rather than later. I'd guess you'll have an approval within 60 days, hopefully much quicker.

Good luck and good morning everyone!

It's good that its gone out to a field office to be looked at, at least it's not rotting at the NBC. I think that they will either approve your AOS or want you to attend an interview. The thing is though its left the NBC to be adjudicated so that is movement. Unfortunately they can take up to 90 days to do this, but given that it is nearly a year then I doubt it will take that long.

Yay! That brighten up the day! :)

  10. Hi everyone!

I have been reading your posts since the begining of this thread. My wife and I are on the same boat like you since March last year. We filed March 24th and are still waiting. Submited several case inquiries and they were all apologizing for the inconvenience but the letter I got yesterday was a bit different so I'm not sure if that's a sign for some movement and light in the tunnel or another long period of waiting. Here's what it says:

"On 03/02/2015 you, or designated representative shown below, contacted us about your case. Some of the information given to us at that time was the following:

Type of service request: Outside Normal Processing Times

The status of this service request is:

Our records reflect that your file (A#) is currently located in another Field Office. The Kansas City Field Office requested your file this date (March 2, 2015). Once Kansas City Field Office receives your file, we will notify you of the next steps of your pendind application."

What do you guys think of that letter?
