Just got my case complete on July 21.. I hope they start scheduling interviews soon!

Hi Group,
Just wanted to say thank you for your support throughout this difficult year with immigration. After 16 months of this process, today at our interview we were approved.
Our initial interview was scheduled for July 21st at 6:45 am, and we arrived at 5am. At 6:40 am(40 minutes late) the embassy finally opened where we first gave in all necessary paperwork, followed by an attempt for fingerprints only to learn that the system was down.
At 8am the embassy told us ALL INTERVIEWS for the day had been cancelled due to the AC not working and the systems being down. All they told us was they would reach out to us at a later date via email and phone to reschedule the interviews. I WAS PISSED!!! My flight was supposed to leave that night and I just thought MORE WAITING.
After talking with friends, my husband and I decided just to show up the next day at the embassy hoping that we would be able to get in AND WE DID!!!
The following are questions that the Immigration Officer asked us:
1. How and when did you guys meet? (Through Facebook)
2. What did he think of me sending him a friend request?
3. Does he still have Facebook? (She asked for his email to see his page)
4. Do we still talk through Facebook?
5. What phone do I have? Then she asked him in spanish what phone and what phone he had.
6. How many times did I visit?
7. She asked him what did he do that made me want to keep coming back.
8. Do we have kids together?
9. How old are his kids?
10. Do they have the same mother?
11. Was he married before since he had two kids with two different women?
12. She asked to see our pictures , and asked questions about the wedding. - How come my family didn't go, and what did we do afterwards?
13. If he went to college, or at least finished high school?
14. What did I study in school, and then she asked him in spanish what I studied in school. (I graduated college way before I met my husband)
15. I took a binder of bank statements, conversations, and trips, and she asked me to give her anything that would help.
The lady was very friendly and the questions were asked almost as though we were having a conversation, you can tell she was trying to make it as comfortable as possible.
We were very upset though with how the embassy handled the situation on canceling interviews last minute and not even giving a time frame as to when they might be rescheduled.

Visa APPROVED!!!!!! Everything went well. I was super nervous and my husband was not lol. They allowed me to be with him at all times, except when it was time for the interview I couldn't say anything.
Initially they spoke to him in Portuguese, except once again when it was time for the interview itself, which was in English. She asked my husband strange questions. She wanted to know how long we had been married, how we met and when my husband said that our parents were friends and we knew each other since we were kids, she wanted to how long we dated for. My husband didn't explain himself very well and she started to get frustrated by wanting to know if I ever moved there, if not then how come we started dating. Then my husband said he had our wedding album and started showing her pictures. She wanted to know why he had pictures alone in his bedroom (Umm Portuguese tradition lol) and she wanted to see pictures of my parents. When he showed her me with my parents on our wedding day, she wanted to see all of us together as proof he was there. So then he started pointing out pictures where we were all together. At that point she started to type some stuff on the computer and he was said that he also had pictures of us dating and she said, "It's not necessary, I'm fully convinced." She also asked how many times he had been in the US and if he ever over stayed his Visa. He said never had and that he had been there 5 times for a month each time. And she asked again, "So you have never overstayed or stayed more than a month?" And he said, "Well maybe I stayed 31 days." Lol. It was a cute response because he was trying to be politically correct while not falling Into a "trap" answer. She laughed and told us we would get the Visa in the mail in 10-12 days.
I would like to write a full review, but I have no idea where to do that. If you guys could just let me know.
We are celebrating today by doing a River cruise on the Sienne River at dusk.

EXPEDITE APPROVED!!!
just got off the phone with NVC on the 29th buisness day since the last scan date and no case complete but they did say our expedite request was approved. She wouldnt tell me what happens next. She just said we have to wait for NVC to contact us then hung up. Anyone who's expeditied can you tell me what happens next??? how much longer until we know when our interview is? Do i need to call the Russian embassy? please PM me or post. thanks!!!
I finally made it to this forum!!!

Done with Biometrics today!!! Now just waiting for the interview date

My wife got a call to pick up her visa on the 24th. Her visa status now states Issued. Can't wait to book that ticket. After 13 looong months!

Congratulations and ty for coming back to let us know the good news. So sorry they made you feel bad at the interview seems that's their job, sad to say. Congratulations again.

First timers at POE now go straight to the office where they get processed! Your wife can ask the rep who directs traffic and he/she will direct her to the office! She only needs to show the package and thy will guide her to the office

That is great!! 2 weeks after you leave your job to prepare your trip, perfect! Everytjing is ready for the interview, I stopped looking at it because everytime I'm stressed to forget smtg. Hope the evidence I prepared is enough and that the interview will go well. Can't wait to get over all this! And greaaat idea for your honeymoon, perfect way to start your new life with your husband! :-) Let me know when you receive your passport so that I can see how long it takes! Enjoy your approval!

Hello everybody! I hope all is well!
Checking in! POE yesterday at JFK New York late at night (around 10:00 pm)! The officers were very nice and courtious and allowed both of us to enter the same way (they processed my entry in the office also!). The POE process took about 10 minutes! We spent the night in New York and today we are flying to St Louis MO!

Take a copy anyway with original signatures. They are supposed to send the AOS paperwork to the consulate ahead of the interview, but mistakes happen and stuff ends up not making it into the package. At least if you have it there with you on the day, you won't walk away with a 221g and a heavy heart.

Today i have done my medical exam from Wilcare at Lahore. It went good. My Interview is on 6,August 2014 at Islamabad. Pray for my interview..And wish a best of luck for those who are waiting for interviews..
