Im sorry dont want to put a damper on your parade, but BEWARE!!! Take your time get to know her well because I have seen people be taken for fools all the time in DR and your sending her money and buying her things be extra careful. I am bringing my fiance, but it took me 4yrs to really believe his intention and had he mentioned a visa in the first year we would not be doing this process today. It also helped that I went to live there for a yr with him. The fact that she knew things needed for the interview sounds like she did some research... love can happen at first sight but just test it to make sure its the real thing. Wish you the best.

But like I said if you search for 11/26/2013 there are 28 appointments scheduled and if you search for 12/30/2013 there are only 8... I will remain hopeful that with the next update (by next week) and god willing, my fiances interview date will be on that list..

They haven't updated that list since last month! I thought that new appointments were added each month. December is not even to full capacity yet so there is actually a possibility of getting one in 2013. Also they usually give you your date 2 months in advance therefore there's no way that that list won't be updated again until January! That would mean that people with January appointments Wouldn't have time to gather all required documents and their medical.
That's just my opinion

That's exactly what I said before!!! Even if you check November the last week is not at it's full capacity.! Let's stay optimistic about 2013 interview dates ladies and gentlemen

you met the girl once for 10 days just two months ago and are you planning to get married? really? date her at LEAST 2 years, go to see her a few times and then get married, less than that you are asking to be scammed.

Love at first sight DOES exist! BUT the steps you're trying to initiate are serious and binding. You only knew her for like 10 days in person. Os that enough? Be careful not being fooled by someone who just wants a "better life". You mentioned that you do not speak Spanish. Does SHE speak enough English? To be honest ( and I TRULY HOPE I'm wrong) this sounds like fraud! Wishing you the best!

What the asked for in my RFE was a translated copy of my divorce that took place in Santo Domingo. Hang in there it will happen soon!!!

Lol... nothing yet but hoping to have a feast in a few weeks... lol

I submitted a complaint/request through Ombudsman last night. I also schedule an appointment with my local field office for tomorrow morning. I'm not hoping to get specific answers about my case, I think we all know the current status of the cases (they're sitting collecting dust), but I want to use it as a method to explain what we've all gone through and see if I can get the attention of someone higher up the food chain. I'll let you all know how that goes.

Thousands of people are putting their lives on hold and can't even choose a wedding date thanks to the long waits we have to endure while receiving no information for months and months. Thousands of petitions are moved around the country. Service centers remain stagnant for months and months and yet we still remain uninformed. People should not be punished for applying for visas legally.

Hi Alex&Iris! I know this journey can be so hard and nerve wracking. This is definitely not for everyone! but speaking from my heart and my own experiences, this journey can be a true blessing cause in the end, just make your relationship stronger and stable.
I went through a k1 visa myself 2 years ago, and even when it was way faster then, it took us 7 month to be together. I still remember all those days without my now husband, all those missing birthdays, holidays and general happy moments. We used to chat for hours through skype and we basically lived our entire courtship through skype and whatsapp.
In the end, this journey made our commitment to each other, more stronger and helped us to built an amazing marriage. After a 1 year 6 month of marriage and with a baby boy on the way, our love remains intact and actually grew up, just like both of us. Everytime we have an argument or if one of us get mad, we always remember all those times we were apart and make us, how bless we are to have each other.
Times flies, try to think all the things you want to do together, discuss your future plans, your upcoming wedding, buy a new place, ect etc. What it kept us going was talking about future together and instead of thinking how much time you have ahead, think that every day that pass is a day you guys are closer to be together.

If this process does not break anyone or relationship, then you must be very lucky. At times you feel like the whole world is against you. You feel helples. all u can do is wait, wait and wait. but when that NOA2 is ussed, you forget all the stress. In my case, if i had wings, i would have flown that night. Hang in there and soon u will be smiling from ear to ear.
