Take your mother out of the equation.
Is monetary support from the grandmother going to be part of the divorce settlement?
If nothing official or legal is set up, I can see your STBX requesting more money/a nicer car/expensive holidays back home for more visits with the grandbaby.
This arrangement seems destined to fail.

I would divorce your wife now. Cancel the visa process. Maintain a relationship with your child. And when the child is older look into having them visit the US.

We are fortunate that my mother is financially well off and is willing to make an indefinite commitment to supporting my wife and child, if that is what is necessary in order for her to have a relationship with her grandchild.

Interview passed!  I arrived about 10 minutes earlier then my scheduled time and waited about 15-20 minutes before being called back.  My adjudicator was training someone in, so he notified me prior to entering the room of that fact (and that it was no negative indication of my application).  Before sitting down, he had me swear an oath to tell the truth.  He then jumped right in to the written and spoken English test, which was just one sentence to read off the tablet and then using a stylus to type up a verbally provided sentence.  He asked me six questions, which I got all correct.  I had brought original copies of mine and my husband's birth certificates, marriage license and my passport; he only asked to see my Green Card.  He ran through a series of questions (any felonies, radical groups I may be a part of, ect); all easy "no" questions.  He spent some time asking me about out-of-country trips I had taken over the past three years and any tickets or citations I have ever had (I was upfront about one speeding citation).  He asked who I lived with, how long I had lived at my current address and whether I had any children anywhere in the world, either adopted or natural.
Once it was all done, he had me verify my contact information on the screen, sign an acknowledgement that I would swear an oath before a judge for naturalization and then handed me a letter saying I had passed the interview and he was recommending my application for approval.  He let me know that I was now just needing to wait for a letter informing me of my Oath Ceremony date.

I think it's a "safe date". It means: they know that all cases (or almost all of them) submitted by this day are already processed. They want to avoid people submitting inquiries for cases outside normal processing time.

Don't be so hard on him. Nobody uses term I-551 on a daily basis, even immigration officers. Everybody says GC, so most of the people have no idea that I-551=GC.

Jim, I got a stamp. It looks pro! In my opinion it's as reliable as the card.
It's not just a regular ink stamp, there is a raised seal with a bald eagle on it.

The official name of Permanent Resident Card is Form I-551. Green Card is a common name.

I traveled with a stamp, no problem to enter the US. You cannot use the APC (Automated Passport Control) kiosk, so it slightly extends the procedure.
There was a little problem at the airport I departed from. It was a small airport, so they had to make a call to double check before they checked me in.

Good news! I submitted my petition on June 6th, 2016 and had my infopass appt today to get a stamp to renew the driving license. I was informed my petition was approved yesterday even though there was no status change online. Looks like they're moving along

I had an InfoPass appointment today.
Processing time of I-751 is extended to 1.5 year because of amount of applications they process. It's more likely to get an interview. No updates on my case, nobody even touched it.
It took about 20 minutes to issue a stamp. They checked my passport and did their paperwork related to an extension of my status for another year. They also took my expired green card, the stamp is an equivalent, so they don't want you to carry two documents.
The officer told me that I can submit N-400 as soon as I'm eligible.

I'm suprised that after all those experiences you've decided to file so late, esp around holidays when all the gov institutions have extra days off. Try to get him to nearest office asap.

I'm sorry that these happens to you. This is a stupid mistake (no offense), an honest mistake (considering that you are new). We are from the same country and I'm sure that you know that only citizens are allowed to vote (Phil.). you should have at least assumed that its the same in USA. I understand at that time you are new and lacks knowledge to rules, laws etc. but it's not an excuse, you came to US and it's your responsibility to educate yourself about their system and culture. if it was me, even if the DMV said yes that I can vote (in spite of showing mg LPR card and NSO birth. cert.). I would have at least doubted him/her and ask my USC husband instead. Let's just say he's not there. I still wouldn't register. My rule is; be very cautious and smart when you are registering and make sure to read before signing up especially if you are disclosing your private/personal information. It's a general rule but again this is just me.
Did you even told your husband that you register to vote? Cause i'm pretty sure that he knows that you cant. What makes this worst is that you actually voted.
Like what others said these will affect your citizenship and I know that these doesn't answer your question but i hope that you'll be very extra careful next time and find a way to fix this.
    Sorry and Good Luck

Just as a note, you said that they should give you a second chance. You have to look at it from USCIS point of view, as these are the people judging you.

Generally, them forgiving your overstay because you married a USC is the second chance. There really are no second chances for those who commit crimes, while overstaying 22 years, and then asking for a LPR card.

The investigation is topping on the cake for them, while 22 years of overstay could have been forgiven, generally in these cases they would have tried to find any thing else to hit you with. The investigation just gave them what they probably needed for a character judgement.

Had you been working and paying your taxes over the 22 years? Or is that maybe a part of what the fraud investigation is about? (PS: You don't have to answer this if it causes you to admit any crimes on a public forum)

While you say that the government play on peoples ignorance, it's hard to plead ignorant when you apply to come in on a visa that has a limited time frame, and then never leave, potentially work and do other activities to sustain yourself for 22 years. Some people can plead ignorance because they overstayed a month of two and "lost track of time", but 22 years of not knowing what you were doing? Ehh, I don't seem to think they'll believe that.

With that said, ask yourself this: What would you provide to the US that is a benefit? Right now, you have a lot of things against you, and as a person you don't look very desirable. They want the people they accept into the country legally to be of use. What use could you be to the US, when right now you've shown that you're willing to break laws placed?

There's a good chance that if denied and convicted, even the best of lawyers won't get you out of a ban from the country. I don't think you should be looking at non-profits for this, I think you need to look at the best lawyer you can get.

I also think that you may want to only talk about your lawyer about this, posting things about your dislike of the government and how everything they've done is wrong and yadda yadda, that could be held against you one day. While it's interesting to see the things people post to you, it may be in your best interest to stop posting about this topic.

    Oh really? LOL
I know many rich people using credit cards, cause it's free money (cash back, miles, etc.). The more you spend the more you earn. You pay back due, there is no interest and you have 2% money back for example.
I use Capital One Venture and purchase plane tickets for miles I earn.
