Hey if anyone has visited on their B1/B2 visa as well please post. We know it's really hard to get this visa after you are married or after you start the immigration process but are you able to POE normally without issues?
My wife (who is in Germany, but Indian Citizen) had applied for B2 a year after our marriage and way way before Cr1 process started. She had stated my name in her visa application. She submitted various documents including her PhD work contract and a letter from her adviser that she is midway of her research. During the interview, the CO thought I was an LPR, until my wife pointed out my passport copy. The CO didn't really care about it. The ties were more important I suppose. She was on AP for a month since she does bio research. Visa was granted with a validity of a year and she got 6 month at POE. I was 90% pessimistic about getting it. If she had applied in India, I am pretty sure they would have rejected.

yes thank you guys, as of april 2013, they are now electronic. also no stamp on passport which they are no longer doing I guess. my last 2 re-entries into the US has no stamps, nor does my wife or kids.
I did print the I-94 from the cbp site..
u guys are amazing.. thank you all
but are you, wife, kids US citizens? Then they don't stamp. My assumption is they stamp foreign passports.

I spent about two hours (and $100 on postal fees mailing documents back and forth from Vietnam) to get the ITIN and file Married/Joint. This effort saved me about $20K on my federal taxes vs Married/Seperate. Time well spent...
20K? in one year?

File Married/Separately. Writer her name where the spouses name is asked and in the SSN column write NRA-SSN/ITIN not required.
When she comes, I believe you have the option to amend the returns.
Harpa Timsah can you confirm the amending option? -
But They usually stamp foreign passports.

If Paris embassy refuses to take the case, then They have to contact the london embassy and they have to accept it. Did you get a case # from NVC.
-
Contact Paris Embassy. Your situation is bit complicated. Contact them before they start processing. Since you are from UK, you need UK PCC anyway. Typically you have to be a citizen or a legal resident of that country to use that consulate.

This gives me much hope for having our own family together, I recently lost my mother so my desire to provide for the future of our own family is incredible.
Include this point too.

Send a letter explaining a detailed reasoning why you would like to have the procedure here rather than in her home country and how you are going to deal with the medical cost. Make sure it is detailed enough to make the reasoning clear.

There is no harm in trying.

I did all the paperworks myself. From what I understand from reading here, the general consensus here is, an attorney can in fact screw up things in filling forms and in other things.
I am not aware of those attorneys or anyone else.

glad to hear that.

don't print statements from the last 12 month. Just have 3 or 4 over a long period of time to show the history.
what I meant is don't print all from last 12 months, but 3 or 4 over the period, but definitely include the latest one.

An attorney, Indian or US, doesn't have any say in this matter. (unlike India). I personally would avoid an Indian attorney since they probably aren't familiar with US laws and their mindset is to circumvent any laws. There is no need for an attorney. If your case is straight forward with no legal complications, and if you can comprehend basic english, and have patience to read this site, then you are good to go by yourself.

online statements are good enough
-
then all good. Good luck.

Yes pleader is notary. I used that term to avoid confusion with US notary public who is not an attorney.
Are the documents in a stamp paper with a court fee stamp? My understanding is in India, documents like this need to be in a stamp paper with proper court fee stamps

yes. Military deployment is a criteria for expedite.

No, see, no. There's no different, official set of rules for different countries (few exceptions). However, there is still absolutely no reason for him to; a. get on the hook for yet another immigrant b. pay very expensive US tuition for a guy who's probably a stranger to him.
Getting a student Visa is not the problem, but supporting 3 souls.
-
This is what i am told.....Boyfriend would apply for student visa and arrive in summer 2015. My wife and her daughter would work to help him pay for room and tuition. A year later daughter and bf would live together and continue education. I would be sponsor of daughter, if she gets pregnant, I pay? This seems like to many unknowns.......and now wife says she will return to her home country.
No offense but your wife need to have a reality check about finances. If she gets pregnant and derives welfare of some sort, then your on the hook for that.

But how can the OP bring the BF? Not thru the OP. Unless Op adopts him or something.
Aos problem...Not enough income.
