Agree with the advice provided, take care of this error asap. 100% guaranteed it will backfire at you down the road (naturalization, green card renewal, relative petition etc.) If a mistake was made it has to be corrected to comply with the law and regulations regardless of the effect of such action.

She is in the process of applying for citizenship. I also have another family member before me who was not given a conditional GC. That family member is also now a Citizen.

I appreciate the advice but I think you guys are making much ado about nothing

    Hi!

My husband and I would prefer to wait until after our two year anniversary (July 6, 2020) for him to come to the US in order to get the 10 year GC. We're currently waiting for our case # from NVC

Initially I thought you had to interview after the two years in order to qualify for the unconditional GC. From what I have been reading, it seems as though it's when the person enters the US that the decision is made if the GC is conditional or unconditional. Would really love to know which one is the actual process since this will help us decide when to submit our docs to NVC for processing.

    Thanks!

I dont know about the 2 year wait. I know that when my wife entered the US after us being married less than a year she was not given a conditional GC. We have 2 children together so we didnt really have to prove relationship... the kids were the proof. So my guess is that they waived the conditional GC and she got her 10 year.

  3. Congrats to those who are current. I am disappointed with the movement this bulletin and I do hope that next fiscal year will be a better one.

One a side not just letting everyone know that I got my package yesterday (Aug 12.... remember I did my interview on Aug 8) is an odd twist of fate. My sister's daughter name was spelt incorrectly on the DHL registration and the Embassy called her and tell her to come pick it up. She asked the officer if mine was ready and if I could pick up same time as we will be travelling together and the lady said "Sure no problem". So basically 2 days after my interview I got my package. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

  5. Hey everyone. Havent been on much because work have been keeping me really busy. In a ways its good because I havent thought much about the interview. Im pretty much ready with all the required documents so i just want to get it over with.

As for the folks on the waiting list I pray next month will be a great VB to close out the year. Until we speak>>>>>

    God Bless

  6. You can find it in this document, at the end of page 2. http://travel.state.gov/pdf/medical/KNG-MED-ENGL-0001-1302.pdf

I'm not sure whether it's mandatory, because other members here weren't asked for it during their interview. But, my view is, after waiting so long, it's better to have documents even if they end up not asking for it, rather than not having it and risk delaying your case.

    mek sense boss

I agree West get it because u don't want any hold ups:)smile.png

I agree too. I dont want no delay.

  7. VillaC yes you have to pay that 165USD after your successful interview before you go to the USA... U can pay the money after you arrive in the USA and use the endorsed I55 visa in ur passport but some employers are not to keen with this they prefer to see ur greencard.. This I55 expires 1 yr after u arrive in the USA (1 yr after u arrive at the port of entry in the USA) so u must pay thr 165 dollars before it expires should u chose to wait until after u get to the USA.

My advice is that you pay the 165 dollars before you come to the USA

Oli I understand the emotions I had and still have them too relocating is a mighty move but just make ur plans and ask God to guide you...

So happy for the movements guess remember PREPARE get ALL the Documents even those u probably think aren't important... Put them together for ur interview... God bless

f1junkie u better make sure u have everything ready!!!

West waiting to see the good post..smile.png!

    Thanks For the clarification Grace.

Mohamed el bakr, your PD is August 15, 2006 right? It would mean the date's moved to at least August 22 but szoeie has a date of August 21 and she hasn't received anything.

Yes, unfortunately. It is a new fee that applies to every person that will have an interview after February 1, 2013. You will need to pay this fee in order to obtain your green card after your interview.

    Thanks for the help jav.

  8. Hi Folks, Just a quick question for those who have had thier interviews recently.

I was just doing some reading online and I saw this checklist for IV http://travel.state.gov/pdf/supplements/KNG-SUP-ENGL-0001-1302.pdf I notice on page 3 it mention about "....beginning February 1, 2013, USCIS will impose a new Immigrant Visa Processing Fee of $165.00. Successful IV applicants must pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee directly with USCIS before traveling to the United States."

Will we have to pay this too?
