  3. Hi Everyone - well here is the news some of you have been waiting for (but not as much as the wife and I) - We were APPROVED this morning at the London Embassy!!

It went so smoothly and efficiently I don't know why I was so anxious!! :dance: Happy Dance Time!!! I was in and out within 45 minutes!

Here's a quick write up of what I remember and advise others to do!

Firstly - Ignore the time on your letter!! Mine was set for 08:30 but I got there at 7:05 and there was already 20 - 25 people in line. By 7:35 ish they were all set up and starting to check people in and let them through the security gate 4 at a time. I was through to the next reception area at 7:45 (that's the time on my ticket they attached to my interview letter) - I was I902 - the 2nd immigrate visa number issued that day!

I 901 was called at around 7:50 then a couple of N numbers then my number at 7:55 - I was called to window 13!! And to my relief I had the nice Afro-Caribbean lady that is regularly mentioned on these pages. She was wonderful and so helpful and calming!! She had me all sorted and sitting back down in the waiting area by 8:10 I guess! I then sat there and waited, maybe 15 minutes, and was then called to window 15 and A 40 ish year old male Vice-Consel introduced himself as the person that would be conducting my interview. He confirmed a few things and asked me easy straightforward questions:

Where we met and when? Which when I told him it was 28 years ago he was surprised and really interested!!

About our marriage and where and when?

When I hoped to fly out to the states and what I did in UK and what I was intending to do in the USA!

What does my Wife do and where/ how long has she worked there?

    Do we have any Children?

Have I lived anywhere else - to which I told him I lived in Germany while serving in the RAF - we then proceeded to talk about my time in the Falklands (something he was really interested in as he spent time studying politics in Argentina a few years ago!!)

There may have been a couple more questions but that was the gist of it - to which he said your visa is approved. WHOO HOO!!!

I did ask at both windows how long it would take to get my passport back as due to them bringing my interview date forward and my step-son and I had a trip to Spain booked on the 15th - both of them told me it should be back well in time to leave on that trip!! Which is a relief!! I asked them both for their names so I could quote them on that and they both laughed!!! So hopefully it will be back in plenty of time!!

I them thanked him and had left the building by 8:50 and promptly called my wonderful wifey and woke her up with the great news!!

I will also say that there were approximately 180 - 200 people in the hall when I came back after the first window and when I got out of the embassy there were still about 80 people in the queue - so I can not re-iterate enough to get there as early as you can and hopefully like me you should be out of there by 8:50!!!

Hopefully this will help others - just hang in there - it will happen.

    Best Wishes,

    Chris & Silvia

PS - they are a lot more relaxed about what you can take into the embassy these days - I can confirm that phones are allowed but they must just be off while you are at the interview windows. And the guys who manage the process outside the building also stated that Ipads, tablets and the like are OK now as long as they do not have a keyboard attached to them they will be allowed through security.

Congratulations Chris and Silvia!! Posts like this one give us so much hope that this long journey is about to end. Thanks for sharing your experience, I'm very happy for you :goofy:

  4. Hi Everyone,

Well what an interesting couple of days for me and my wife!! Some may have read that I asked the London Embassy (via an on-line form) if we could get an earlier interview date so I could attend my step sons High School Graduation and the embassy sent me a reply stating that they would look into it once I had had my medical, so I booked an earlier medical (for yesterday) and duly went up to London and had my medical. Today was my last day at work so took everyone out for a few beers and had a great time. In the background my wife and I decided not to go for an earlier interview in the end as my step son and I are going fishing to Spain on 15th May and thought that there was a strong possibility that we wouldn't get my passport back in time to go to Spain and therefore accepted that I would miss his Graduation!!

Well low and behold I get home this evening to find two letters on the door step both stating that my interview date is 2nd May (it was originally the 23rd May)!!!! A full 3 weeks earlier than originally scheduled!! We are perplexed in that we didn't ask for it to be brought forward in the end, but are ecstatic that they have bought it forward to the best date possible as I can attend the interview in the knowledge that I can get my passport back in time (subject to being approved) to go to Spain and then fly to the USA with my step-son on the 29th and attend his Graduation on the 30th - Perfect!!!

What is odd is that they have changed the date without having any idea that I had changed my medical and if I hadn't actually arranged for an earlier medical my medical results would not have been at the embassy in time for my new interview date a week today!!! Has anybody else had anything similar happen to them???

    Best Wishes,

    CB & RB

Wow! that's one week from now! How exciting!... So good to hear everything is working out great for you!.

You two make a very beautiful couple (F)

Best of luck with your interview!! :goofy:

  5. Talked to Ken at NVC, what a nice guy he told me our package arrived today at NVC wooooooooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooo one little step but it feels so good. So approved from USCIS on April 8 Th 2014 and arrived at NVC April 26 Th 2014. :D:dance::thumbs::dance::yes: Yes indeed! Oh, oh and yes he said to wait 30 days for our case number (CC) and invoice number (IIV).

Congrats Soloenta!! This is a big step forward. Get your packages ready to send to the NVC so you don't delay your Case Complete once you get the Case Number :star::thumbs:

  6. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have waited for over a year to say this!!! I literally just screamed and did a cartwheel at work! :dancing:

    CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!

I emailed on Wednesday and put it to the attention of the DR and requested an immediate review of both cases for their #######-up of the civil documents. I don't know if it did anything but they case completed both parents yesterday! Jenny gave me the good news and I may have deafened her if any of y'all talk to her today ;)

Congratulations!! Now time for your parents to get ready for a June interview :dancing:

  7. thank you. i hope i get June interview slot.

    congrats to u too dearJohn.

Thank you! I'm sure you will. Hopefully we'll hear good news next week

I got my case complete email this morning as predicted. Now hopefully an interview letter by next Friday? Would this be to much to hope for? Fingers crossed. :)

So, exactly a week after case complete, good to know that!... I actually hope NVC start giving interviews dates next Thursday

  8. Hello.

can anyone please help me with the number 10 of form i-864ez.which says country of domicile.

am from Ghana.is the answer supposed to be U.S.A or Ghana?.your Reply will highly be appreciated.thank you.

Questions Number 1 to 6, are Information on the Immigrant (Beneficiary). The address in Ghana should go in question number 2.

From question Number 7 to 15, is all about the Information on the Sponsor (Petitioner). So, number 10 should be the address where the petitioner lives in the USA.

  9. Hey there, trying to determine if I received a false checklist today. On the 18th I received a false one for sure since it was asking for all of the IV pAcket supporting documents (passport, pics, birth certificate, etc) and I had already sent al that in with the DS260. BUT today I got another checklist and it only has one thing listed which makes me wonder if its real, the thing that is listed is Eligibility Documents. It goes on to talk about Canadian passports and stuff you can use as proof. But we submitted my wifes passport with the supporting documents so I am at a loss here......

The best thing you can do is to call and make sure this is a real checklist (it does sound real to me), so you can send them *again* what they want from you
