  1. I sent them an email asking to send it by email when my status changed to ready on the NVC website.
Under normal circumstances when you fax back all the information in packet 3, you can then also request packet 4 be sent to you by email. Normally they send it to you within 2 days of receiving the packet 3 by email, sometimes even same day. but not for me.

Have you checked the NVC website? when did it change to ready, or does it not say ready yet?

  2. Soonest could be in a few days or a week or two--probably not longer, (unless you want it to be longer--there will also be dates further on, and you get to choose). And you'll probably get packet 4 by tomorrow.

Thanks, I was just looking for a date to work with. I submitted everything on Wednesday less than two hours after they emailed packet three. Would have been faster but of course it was on one of our busiest sale days of the whole year.

Anyways, I did not hear back on Friday at all, despite sending a second email because I want to verify they got the fax and that I didn't mistakenly send all of our personal info into someone elses hands.

And it's a long weekend here which means I wont get it until Tuesday at least. I've done a thorough sweep of other timelines at the same consulate over the last year, and everyone who emailed for packet four received it the next day or the day after at latest, which should have been Friday. I know its still way better than the months of waiting, but I'm just tired of all this waiting..... sad.png;(;(

  3. I didn't wait, I was too anxious lol. I emailed with my case number in the subject line and stated that I was ready for packet 3.

Once you complete DS-230 part 1, and the checklist; you have to fax the documents to the consulate. I sent another email to confirm that the consulate received the documents and stated I was ready for packet 4.

You will have to make the appointment for your interview before you schedule your medical (I thought it was a bit weird myself, possible protocol for the panel physician?). I already checked for the next available interview date (September 3). After you have scheduled your interview, you can email the panel physician for your medical. I would probably tell them you're traveling, so to schedule the medical as close to the interview date as possible- I only say that as my medical is scheduled a week prior to my interview.

    Here's a link to packet 3...

I know you probably already know the information, I don't think I've told you anything you didn't already know.

I almost forgot, the consulate and panel physician usually reply within a couple of hours.

    Cheers!

    Thanks!

I have had all firms filled out for the last couple weeks just have to fill in the dates. Thanks for checking! I really hope I can schedule the interview for sept 4th. :)

  4. I emailed for packet 3, and after I faxed the checklist back, I emailed for packet 4. They will snail mail you the packets if you don't request email. It takes a day once the case leaves NVC to Vancouver (I stalked DHL tracking lol). So once you know that it has left NVC, you can email Vancouver 2 days after.

It arrived in Vancouver yesterday afternoon about 230 according to DHL. No status change to ready yet. Did you wait for that?

  5. Vancouver is super quick, they received my case on Friday and I already have an interview date. Hope everything is as quick for you!

Thats what i hear! Im glad to be going there instead of Montreal. I heard they have a 5 month awaiting time for interviews. eeks.

Hope ours is as fast as yours. Quick question, once it said it was ready did you email for Packet 3 or did they just send it to you?

  6. They are still considered a non-immigrant visa, but the consulate (at least in London, handles visa based on intent. If the intent of the visa is for a temporary stay in the US then the non-immigrant visa department handles it, and if the intent is to move to the US as and establish residency, then it's handled by the immigrant visa department within the consulate. I read this while browsing through one of the chat logs from a past chat session. I'd put a link to it, but I don't remember which one it was and there are quite a few of them.

A gotcha! that makes more sense as to why all the paperwork I have filled out says non-immigrant then. Thanks everyone for the clarifications!

  7. thanks guys, but I know that. smile.png

I'm trying to figure out where it is listed because before learning better, we put Montreal, but as I live in Manitoba, it should actually be Vancouver and I want to make sure they caught this..... so..... where on the NOA2 am I looking?

    Maybe I worded it poorly?

it states on the NOA2 that is is forwarded to the listed consulate.

WHERE on the NOA2 is the name of that consulate located?
