Well if you think about it, folks on DACA have dire needs than we i751 folks do. The waiting sucks but while you're lifting conditions you are still a permanent resident, can work and travel anywhere.

DACA filers on the other hand are not and require this document to give them a bit of the freedom and rights we permanent residents have..which is why their cases have more priority over our cases. So i751 cases are looking at a minor inconvenience (long waits etc.) versus life changing events for DACA filers.

Personally, I have no problems if a 1000 DACA cases were shoved ahead of mine. Again the waiting sucks but it's just a minor inconvenience..nothing compared to what DACA filers go through and what they endure daily without this piece of document.

your comment has definitely made me rethink my rant.  ;)  was just in one of those moods, ya know.  :P

some time back, I saw a documentary on the subject and there was one young male, who applied to college.  The plus, the college allowed him entrance but would not give him in-state rates and he had to pay the out-of-state rates just bc he did not have his legal papers, and of course that was through no fault of his own.  it was his parents.   so, yes, you are right.  :)

  2. Hey Ya'll,  I have not been commenting lately, just reading along and waiting like everyone else, but today, I just did some reading and got so enraged....

As most of us already know, our MSC cases were delayed due to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) cases (I-821D & I-765) being put ahead of ours.  I had not read an actual article about it.  This one give statistics on it and states how the MSC had 'hiring difficulties' and there were more than 800K of our cases just piled up in their center.  The article is more than one year old, but here is the link.  I have not been able to keep up with all of the posts in this thread; so, maybe someone already posted something like this.

I got upset while checking the processing times; neither of those case types has a processing date older than August.  The listed processing dates are from August to December.  Meanwhile our cases, in the VSC, have not even hit April of last year......   unbelievable.....

I am sorry, really just ranting today.....

  3. We never got the biometrics. Husband called to inquire, back in the middle of August. Got a letter today, stating the biometrics letter was mailed on july 9th. the apt date was july 25th. well it was missed. they included a copy of the biometrics appointment letter with the inquiry resolution letter. but to reschedule, it says you have to check off a box on it and mail it to Alexandria, va. this is so frustrating. how do we know when the rescheduled appointment letter should arrive? bc this one says you cannot reschedule more than 87 days after your appointment date. uggggghhhhhhhh...... so now, our case waits even longer to get approved. tried to call uscis office, but did not realize it was already after 6pm. gonna have to try again tomorrow......

has this happened to anyone else? everyone else got their biometrics, yes?

  4. still have not received the biometrics letter. hubby called last Monday and the rep gave the reason, 'some people do not need to do the biometrics'. sounds like another one of their lines to get you off the phone. still no letter. the rep opened a 'case' for him, but it could be weeks until they even address those. what to do, what to do. ha! nothing but wait for them, I guess. has anyone else not received their biometrics letter?

  5. Does anyone know if you can change the bio appt. date? We have not yet received ours; however, given the dates that are popping up on others', hubby's work has scheduled him to be in another state during the date he may receive for his asc.

  6. Nobody, who paid the immigrant fee before August 31, 2015 had access to the ELIS account. I don't think that anybody wrote down the ELIS number (what for?). I don't think that anybody wasted time to call and ask for it. I don't think that anybody will get RFE for not having this number in the petition. The A# matters.

    2znx37t.jpg

Edit: I put N/A in this box.

very good to know. That may explain why the ISO stated, " you are the first to ask for this. is it really on the form? which form are you using" she checked the form and said, 'oh yes, there it is." so, bc no one else asked, I think , you are correct, no one bothered. I am so paranoid about getting an rfe for not having the most menial of things. so I just felt more comfortable having it. and btw: the section is not long enough to fit all of the digits. if you use the alpha prefix, not enough room. if you omit it, there are two extra spaces. ugh. the ISO told me to just write in the number. watch, after all that, I will get an rfe..... eh, it is what it is. :D just go with the flow ..... ;)

  7. Great idea calling USCIS and getting the ELIS number prior to mailing out the package. I am not sure if it causes RFE's but with USCIS, you never know so it's good you didn't take the risk. You have good evidence and you should be fine. Quick question though - with the bank statements, did you include a number of them spanning the time since the account became a joint account? If not, don't sweat it since you've already sent it in. It's not a stated requirement but advised (from posts I've seen around here). Keep us all updated on how things go. Good luck to us all!! :-)

We do not have a joint checking account. The bank account is a savings account. I included the following, as it was opened once Petitioner entered the country.

    1. The account details, showing both of our names, the account and routing numbers and our address

    2. The opening statement, showing the account number, both of our names and our address

    3. The most current statement, showing the same information as the opening statement

We, as many other married couples do not share checking accounts. I had a very bad experience with my ex-husband, the month prior to my separation bc we shared a bank account. He had emptied it and I had no funds..... For that reason, I will never share another checking account with anyone. However, we do share a savings account.

Thank you for your input and assistance. :D

Hope the rep reviewing our case finds the evidence sufficient.

Has any of we June Filers, filing at the VSC, yet to receive their BIOMETRICS appointment notice? I noticed some filers at the CSC have received theirs and it is about four weeks from NOA date. But I am curious about the VSC.

  8. You have some good evidence but be sure to also include evidence that show joint assets and liabilities. If the savings account does not list your spouse in any way, it is not useful. It needs to have him listed as a joint-owner or at least as a beneficiary (if there's such a thing) and the evidence should span the entire period of your marriage.

Perhaps while you have the time get some wills drafted, medical power of attorneys etc (These are easy to get online. You can get both within a week for about $100+). if you have a joint credit card, add the transactions for that as well.

@ MaleAlpha, thank you so very much for your reply. It spawned an idea! For the I-130, I submitted over 600 pages of skype conversation, from relationship start, until date of application submission. During the interview, my husband tried to submit portions of our conversations, (more than another 100 pgs), but the Consular Officer refused them. He stated, "No more papers!". I did not want to submit all of the pages with this application and since my husband is here, we have only iMessages, in regards to written conversations. Anyway, the idea I got, to show relationship from time of meeting, until now, is to submit many Facebook print screens on printed pages and a note, in the cover letter, to say that my husband's profile is public. They can view it and see our family interaction. :D

Anyway, I submitted our case Friday, one day later than expected. I had to edit the cover letter and reprint some of the evidence, bc I had called the Customer Service number and spoke with two different reps. I asked them if I could block/white out the bank account numbers and a document from hubby's employer, with his discount purchasing code. The reps said the docs have to be unaltered and any change would void their validity to becoming evidence. :( I was stumped bc I see, on here, all of the time, where ppl submit info with blocked out account into. By the way, I have no idea if the I=751 (ROC) Customer Service Line wait is as long as it was for when we would call for the I-130 status, but I was able to find a way through their number maze, to get a CSR in less than 30 seconds!!! Pressing all of the numbers takes longer than the wait time I had for each of the three times I called this last Friday. Okay, here are the numbers:

    1, *, 4,1,3,2,6

Of course you have to wait for each new menu to load for a few seconds before pressing the next button. TBH IDK if you have specific case questions if they will transfer you to another operator, but mine were general questions about the blocking out and the request to be transferred to the ISO.

Crazy thing, as I wrote in my original post, I could not get into the Ellis account, to get the the Ellis number. I tried emailing them, but the reply was to call the Customer Service number and request an ISO/Tier 2 Officer. Needed hubby with me, during their business hours, (hubby works Sunday to Thursday, from 7am, to 530pm). :( This past Friday, I called and was able to be put into their call back queue. The automated system said I would get a call back in 67 mins. I waited more than two hours. No call back. :( So, hubby said, just submit it without it. I was at the Post Office. The envelope was sealed and I was making the transaction, when my phone rang. It was the USCIS ISO/Tier 2 Officer Line calling me back. I grabbed the envelope and said to the PO Rep, "I am sorry, but I have to come back." The call was an automated service that asked if I wanted to talk with an officer now or have them call back in ten mins. If their ten mins is anything like their 67 mins, I was not chancing waiting for that call, (PO was about to close in the next 45 mins.). I quickly drove home, while I was in their waiting queue. The rep answered like a min before I got home. So, I kept asking her to repeat herself bc I could not hear her. lol shhhhhh. this gave me time to get inside and get to my hubby, to give the authorization for them to talk with me. :D YAY!!! We got the Ellis number before I mailed!!!!!! I am making a huge deal about it bc I was so paranoid that by not having that box filled-in would trigger an RFE letter. ......

This is a pasting of my cover letter. Here, I replaced our names with "Petitioner" and "Spouse" and other identifying names with generics. I hope they find it sufficient to show proof of bonafide marriage. :D I used a sample cover letter I found online and then just edited it to suit our needs.

  9. hello everyone,

US entry date was 09/19/14. going to send ours on the 23rd, just to be safe. (I had gone to a uscis roc seminar, at the local library, and the rep said, be sure not to send ur packet too early, bc even if the post mark is too early, they will take your money and send you a rejection letter.)

for the roc packet, does anyone have a sample of the coverletter? I feel so clueless when i start to read everything and try to compile it, i get so flustered. I just feel like I am forgetting something......

On the form, where it says you need the ellis number, I cannot access the account to get it. is it an issue if we file the application without it and just the A number?

for the evidence, we have the following, do you think it will be enough:

    1. medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits connected on my, (wife, u.s. citizen) employer's provided insurance. It was to much money to add me to my husband's insurance. But i am his beneficiary for his employer's provided insurance.

    2. Savings account information, (we do not have a shared checking account.

    3. 2013 (amended return transcript, from when after husband came, he needed a ssn to claim him and get the money back), 2014 & 2015 irs fed transcripts.

    4. Car insurance, husband is on the car insurance and we are both registered owners of the vehicle he drives, (I am the only one on the loan though)

Only my name is on all of the utilities.

I do not want to ask my landlord to add my husband to the lease but i really dont want to be locked into another long lease. Our lease expired and we are month to month now.

we have only one baby shower event where we took pics together.

I feel like it is not enough.

    any thoughts?

  10. Just got a letter from NVC addressed to my husband that days, "we updated the mailing/email address for this case. Please continue to notify the NVC of any change of mailing/email address, or change and personal situation that may affect the principal applicant entitlement to a Visa."

The funny thing is, we didn't change anything. I'm on hold now to find out what's going on, will ask about interview while I'm on the phone. I only hope they answer soon, on hold 18 minutes and I have to leave for work in another 20.

We got that, too. Like twice; once after the interview email and again after the case left or was being prepared to ship to the embassy. I never called and all was fine. :)

  11. Thanks for the sentiment Marhaba.

Didn't work well, I'm afraid. Details are here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/513879-the-nvc-moral-supportranting-thread/page-77

Oh MoBar65!!! I am SO sorry!!!!!!!! Why? Why would he do that?? (Rhetorical, of course)

What happens next? You mail or bring them the letter? Does it have to have an original signature or will he accept an emailed version? Then, they make you wait in AP? For how long? Do you need a follow-up interview? Or is there an immediate decision?

Oh look at me, asking so many questions,

When you have other things to worry about.

    Please keep us posted.

We don't know each other at all, but you are always so very helpful and supportive to others, this news is heartbreaking! I thought for sure your approval would have been a sure thing!

Inshallah this is the last hurdle and it will be done quickly! ?

  12. Thank you Amanda for all the information it's invaluable. I'll call tomorrow I didn't have the heart to call today. I did ask for a supervisor but she said the paper work with was with a supervisor when I asked who it was she said she didn't know, I called again another rep said the exact same thing. But I'll try again see what happens then let you know. :) thank you for your good wishes I truly appreciate them. :)(L)

You both make such a beautiful couple I wish you both a life time of happiness. Thank you for your good wishes. :)(L)

You are the sweetest!! Thank you ☺️

All the best to you, too!!! ???

Hope to see you on the change of status thread. :)

  13. This makes me so happy!!! I'm so thrilled that he is safe here with you :-) May you both have a happy, peaceful and blessed marriage together - YOU DESERVE IT!!

You are the sweetest!!!! ???. Thank you so very much!!! :)

You, too, I wish nothing but the best!!!!

We all seem to have had our hardships throughout this process.

I hope it has helped all of us better appreciate each other. :)

Now, it is the on to the next waiting game of the SS and green cards. :). Then, in some time we can all join hands again, in the CHANGE OF STATUS line. :)

  14. Hey... That's wonderful!

More details please... how was the exit and through which neighboring country? What was the POE airport? Was this his first US trip? Did he stop grinning yet?

Exit was long, (about six hours of traveling), bc of the lines at the bridge, (many ppl were leaving for Haj). But no questions out of the ordinary. Airport was in Jordan. POE was at JFK. Not his first trip here. He is one happy camper!! (Me, too!!!!). :D

I just have tears. I am so happy he is safe and in your arms. WOW I hope you guys right a book. I mean this man can truly say he walked through fire and war to get to his beloved. I love a happy ending. excuse me.....(L)

    Thank you !!!! :)

Yes, he is one very amazing husband and man. :):D

  15. He's here.......

    :D

Husband said POE was a snap!! He went to the noncitizen line. Showed his package, got the stamp, was brought to a room, was immediately fingerprinted and signed a paper. Then, told to collect his luggage and told to go on his way. No searches or questions. He said next to the little fingerprinting room was a room full of ppl waiting. He was not brought there or told to wait. He was one of the first ones out of the arrivals exit.

Thank you to all who have helped w this who confusing and frustrating process!!! :)

  16. What would be the Physical address since she is not here yet!

Should I leave it blank and enter only Mailing address?

    Thank you

Hey guys, Thank you for giving the info. It seems like since many dont know, maybe many ppl do not have an address in there prior to POE.

Wish i knew about it yesterday. I went in and updated the address but could not save it bc it should be done by my husband and if i put in his name (as the signature) and the account passcode, if CBP sees the update time, they will be like, "um ..... How did u update this while u were on the plane?????" So, i hope he can remember the house address without having to dig through tons of papers!! I also hope not having it there prior to poe will not delay the G.C. Or SS card receipt

  17. We also ticked "yes" on the DS-260, but ended up going to the local SSN office because after 10 days, there was no SSN. Turns out the info was NOT submitted. There is something that is SUPPOSED to happen at POE to send the data to the SSA, but it seems it is hit and miss whether or not that actually happens.

    Don't wait. Go for it!

    Sukie in NY

Does anyone know if the SSN info is submitted by certain POE's and not others?

Sukie, you guys had JFK as the POE; so, I think We will have the same issue and will have to travel to the local SSA office nine days after POE. (I think someone mentioned to wait nine days?)

  18. Approved!!

Mumbai embassy sent out an automated email to all the CR-1 interviews saying the interview from Sept 9th was moved to Sept 10th. They called my wife on 9th afternoon asking why she didnt show up for the interview. They said there is some glitch in their system.

They didnt really ask her many questions. They probably had all the CR1s from 9th and 10th so perhaps they tried to get through them quickly.

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU AND TO ALL WHO HAVE HAD GREAT NEWS LATELY!!!!

I have not posted a congratulatory reply to so many posts of so much good news!! I just cannot keep up w u all!!! That is a positive thing, that there is finally such an abundance of goodness!!!

YAY!!! For everyone!! i wish the best for u all and your futures!!! Regardless of which stage u happen to be in rt now. ??
