  1. Hi VJ family , my interview is August 5th at 7:45 am and I am so nervous...can't sleep! I waited so long for this...:yes:

    CONGRATULATIONS AND GOOD LUCK!!! :)

I know what you mean by waiting SO long!!! Our interview is Thursday. I cannot go with my husband. He is usually a cool cucumber, but he is a bundle of nerves. I really wish I could go, but I have not yet built-up enough time off, from my new job. (I am not sure if the Israelis would let me pass the boarder anyway.) I worked at one place for close to twelve years, but I got laid off four days after our NVC case complete. It set back us an additional three months bc I had to find another acceptable job that would be enough for the AOS and adequately support the family. Such a struggle has been all of this.

We all have to see the bright futures ahead and count our blessings. A man once said, "When you feel so wronged or deprived bc others have things so easily or so good, stop looking up at them. Look at what you do have. Then, look at those less fortunate and thank God for what he has given you." Those words really help me get by each day.

  2. Hi Everyone! :D

MANY, MANY CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE INTERVIEWS SCHEDULED, APPROVED & VISAS RECEIVED!!!! :) Gives ya so much hope where it had felt lost, (like this torture is never going to end)!

When I posted the other day about me being so worried for my husband, traveling to Jerusalem, it seems I was being overly paranoid, like usual. As it turns out, my uncle and young cousin got a week's permission to go there. They took the trip and posted pics on FB. So, i think i was reading too much into the news articles. I thank you all for your support. It was so kind and moving to receive it. ❤️

@ dwheels76, Thank you for all you do!!!! And thank you for sharing your personal story. To overcome such and ordeal, you are a very special woman, who deserves every one of your bountiful rewards!!! :)

  3. You and your husband will be in my thoughts. May he have a safe journey and positive result :-)

It's reading post like this that give me pause and realize how blessed we are as Americans and should be so grateful.

I mean people complain about not having their documents, the right clothes, the heat, having to stand, sit to long on interview day and here we have someone who is literally risking their life in order to be with the one they love.

May Gods' grace and protection cover your family on this blessed day and surround you always. (L)

Blessings on you and especially on your husband as he makes his way to East Jerusalem and back. As others have said, your circumstances make all of our complaints pale in comparison. Please let us know when he is safely back home.

    Sukie

    bdrew612, dwheels76 & Sukie,

Thank you so very much!! Your kind and sincere comments had me crying.

I will definitely let you all know when he returns. The interview is Thursday, August 7th. I hope it will all be completed before I have to leave for work. Once he gets back into the West Bank, he can call me and let me know. (That is one of the difficult parts; his cell phone service will not work while in Jerusalem.)

He and I are worried about different things. He is not worried, at all, about the traveling, (tough guy); I am so VERY worried about it. He is so very nervous about the interview; I think there will no worries on that portion.

Thank you again. I will keep you all posted. :)

(And, yes, I jumped on the computer this time. So, I could thank you properly, with the MultiQuote.) ;)

  4. Dear MoBar65 & Sukie,

Thank you both so very much for such speedie and very informative replies. It helps relieve some of the stress level. :D

My husband received a 12-hour permission, no problem, from the Israelis, to travel to East Jerusalem. So, now, all our faith is in God, that he will make it safely in and out of East Jersusalem, on the day of the interview.

(My apologies for making a new reply, Everytime I try to reply via MultiQuote, my phone screen keeps going black and resetting to the main screen. )

  5. Question to you all, as I am now confused about the further processes.

My husband's medical was on July 23. He was told to pick up the results Aug 3, bc even though they are ready earlier, bc the visa will be for six months only, it is better to have a later medical to help with getting a longer visa.

This makes no sense to me. Shouldn't the visa be issed according to the interview date?? The doctor was saying that it is based on the date of the medical and not the date of visa issuance or date of entry. But does it not matter bc we should have the green card by then?

I am also confused bc i thought it would be for two years. Or am I confusing that one with the green card and its expiration before we can apply for change of status (485, i think).

And one more, How can we apply for the EAD, (765)? I am reading everyone is just getting their ssn's but i have not seen anything about the EAD. While still at the USCIS, i enquired and remember the rep saying something about we apply once he gets here and it should take like three - six weeks? Is that right?

  6. Wife's visa approved, Alhamdolillah (Thank God) :dancing::dancing::dancing:

Visa officer told her to pickup the passport within 2 weeks, most likely after 8/1.

Thanks to the VJ moderators and others like me who helped me unselfishly throughout this process.

Best wishes to all who are next.

MANY CONGRATULATIONS!!!! VERY HAPPY FOR YOU!!! :D

BEST WISHES ON YOU FINALLY GETTING TO START YOUR LIVES TOGETHER!!!

    Husband's visa.....APPROVED!

    SO happy :D

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! :D

  7. Ah, mystery solved! So it means diddlysquat. Thank you!!

Mine says the same, 24 Jun 2013.

Maybe it is the date they threw all our cases in the closet, where they sat until the transfers to the other processing centers, bc they had to make room, on their desks, for all those Deferred Action applications!!!! GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

I wish they would have hired more help before they made that rule!!!! Maybe then our loved ones would be here already!!!!

We are finally at a closer stage, but bc of the war, not even sure if my husband can get permission to go to Jersusalem, for the interview!! :(((((((

God will give us what he sees best.

  8. Well of course it says that the passport information was received and forwarded, as you provided that in your IV package. No one ever is required to send in the actual passport during the process, so they are referring to the photocopy.

    :)

A-HA!!Now, it makes sense!!! Thank you LAKEHOUSE!! :D

For this whole process, I am not sure how we did not get checklisted. Whenever I look at all the papers and the forms, my whole thought process gets clouded and I go blank. I tend to over think parts of it, too. For the AOS, I was so paranoid that something was left blank that should have the 'NA' in it that i convinced one of the reps to walk through my whole form before I could send it in. When he first answered the call and I told him I had questions about the 864, he was like, oh hey, that is my specialty (u could hear the smile) and I am the top guy here for that. He made sure to tell me that he cannot tell me what should be marked for my situation. So i asked all my questions, like this: So, if this is the situation, what should someone check?? Lol. But on some of them, he would say I could not provide that information. For other things, I just asked, can this number be left blank if it does not apply and we will not get checklisted? And bc my new job is hourly, my employer letter did not have an annual salary. I read it to him and he said it was perfectly acceptable. :D. Toward the end of the call, he was starting to get annoyed. But hey, he is paid to service us. So, why not! I was still scared we would get checklisted though. But PRAISE GOD, we did not.

Just thought I would share that info with you all, as I saw many times ppl asking questions that the nvc answered for me. So, if you get panicky, like I do, try giving them a call. I looked through my nvc call log notes, but I must have been so stressed out that night, that I never jotted down his name. I am sorrry.

    YAY!!

On ours, some if the lines made no sense. Like on the Passport line. It is marked with the letter that states it was sent to the consulate, (Y), But we never submitted any passport. Just a copy of the biometrics page. And two of the letters have the same meaning, (D & Y), the NVC SENT THIS FORM OR DOCUMENT TO THE EMBASSY OR CONSULATE . And we have a D and Y.

So, to cut any confusion or mistakes, everything is going to be taken to the interview.

  10. Hrm.. no appointment email today. In my paranoia I called NVC again; they confirmed the scheduling. I just want something on paper before I start getting crazy and buying tickets...

Are these appointment letter emails received on nights/weekends through automated sending, or only during business hours?

We called at like 10:30 pm, Jul 9. That is the date of the scheduling.

The email arrived at 4:54 pm, ET. It was sent by NVCInquiry@state.gov

The pdf letter attachment is dated Jul 10.

Interview scheduled, email received today :clock:

    YAY!!!! :)

  11. When you first get on CEAC website.. The last option under immigrant visa is "check my visa application status" click on that and enter your case number.. It should show it there

    Thank you!! ;)

I also can see it on the top, right section, of the Summary Information page. It says, CURRENT PROCESSING SITE.

I am not sure it that will change when it is in transit though. But now I can check both spots.

    :)
