Protocol417 got a reaction from elmcitymaven in Our very own P&R off topic thread (merged)
Yay for weeks with holidays in them. My work load (or lack thereof) is pretty much taking care of the issue of productivity for me.
This is my first venture into the Off Topic forums and so far I'm entertained!

my fiance did do a lot of comparing to Iraqi consulate procedures and requirements, but we focused our efforts and attention on India. However all our research indicates that interviews are infact in Baghdad, not Jordan, as all their visa forms instruct to show up to the tower/greenzone in Baghdad to take a shuttle buss to the counsulate for the interview. So to say we didnt do our homework isnt fair. We worked hard to collect and validate and attest our evidences, just as im sure all of you have done with us.
its good to see your responses, being in a deep relationship we know how we feel and forget the view from the out side in. I am hoping we can process an appeal and change embassy, that would be ideal, however i see filing all over again might have to happen as well. Im still feeling a little lost what direction to go.

It's an analogue to Christian Domestic Discipline, which I believe was discussed in P&R last week. Get off your handphone and find it.
Edited to add this AWESOME pic I saw tonight.

I'm short, my problem is at some places the seats are too damn high and I feel like a goddamn baby on a highchair.

I am taking after the most famous P&R posters. I am learning from them. Pretend I'm winning even when I'm not and then I'm never wrong!

I hope they're as good as the hysterical post-election temper tantrums. Don't you?

Clearly, it's a miracle that my unarmed self is still alive after all my trips to Target. Praise the Lord!

Haha, sounds good, although if she finds that she will need those here, it would all but strengthen her fear of going out lol.

Financial planning. Different people have different attitudes towards handling money matters, depending on culture/upbringing.
USA is not land of milk and honey, as portray in Hollywood movies
Make sure both husband and wife are on the same page.

Stop saying "with a hood" as if it matters. I wear hoods. Plenty of people do, especially in the rain.
I am not going to call the cops because someone is standing under a tree. A black person simply standing around isn't suspicious to me.
If he's going around, looking into windows and trying to get into houses, of course I will call. But no, I will not call 911 and say "Hey, someone help, a black guy is standing under a tree doing absolutely nothing!!"

Location on the body. For instance, bruising on the lower arms would be an indication Zimmerman was attempting to block the blows, or trying to prevent Martin was grabbing the gun from Zimmerman's holster.

I have not watched one second of it nor have I spent time reading about it. I don't know every detail like most here do. I haven't devoted my life to arguing who did what. I actually tried to participate in a discussion. There is ample pig headedness on both sides of the fence. I've got to go with the justice system and let them do their job. We all know OJ walked and most feel he was guilty, but the jury had to make their decision based on the evidence presented and the testimony they heard. It's not their fault the police botched the investigation and that Mark Fuhrman was a liar. The police made lots of mistakes and as a result a likely guilty OJ walked.
I'll still believe in the American justice system and a person's right to a fair trial regardless of the outcome of this case. i don't have a horse in this race. Some here are so passionate that you'd think it was their firstborn on trial. This case has the spotlight. Meanwhile everyday some gets murdered and it's just a blurb on the news.

you will receive your NOA1 and 2 to your address. but the RFE only the lawyer gets it. You can request a copy of the RFE from the lawyer unless your lawyer is giving you a lot of trouble then you can call USCIS tell them what's going on and if you are lucky somebody from tier 2 will send you a copy of what's requested. I had a lawyer he was trying to delay my file so he can say Oh you have problems in your file so I have to charge you more to do all of that. Thank God the tier 2 I did talk to was a nice guy and he sent me a copy of my RFE. I fired the lawyer done the rest of the AOS and ROC by myself. I will be doing the citizenship by myself also. Lawyer will not help you until USCIS denies your application. Before that there is no use of a lawyer. Good luck.

Sorry to here your problems that is why I didn't hire a lawyer... I did my research and my fiancé' and I did everything together over Skype. We gat all the documents together first and then we put the information on the forms. When I first came across this site last year and read the guides, I knew hiring a lawyer or an immigration specialist was a false sense of security...Im glad I didn't waste my money was approved last week. I hope all works out!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember a REF is not a Denial just need more proof! I hope you 2 see each other soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not true.
Please understand that while your intentions may be pure, it could be considered rude when one is so presumptive of another's religion, or lack thereof. Even if they are religious, when someone is going through a harrowing time where they may feel as though they've been abandoned, or maybe they've questioned how god could be so cruel when they've done nothing wrong, these messages sometimes only make that feeling worse.

I come from a military family. My brother barely knew my dad growing up because he spent so much time in Iraq, and my mother was sent into severe depression due to his absence. So I understand the desire to protect that which you've fought for so hard, but KhunKazuri is right, even if his/her tone may have been a bit harsh. There is no benefit to mindless jingoism or the attitude that you can't say anything negative about your country. Protesting and making your fellow citizens aware of when things aren't going as they should is not only a right, but a responsibility. It's the reason this country exists and we are no longer colonies of the Crown.
This isn't a city mouse, country mouse thing. It's a matter of holding your country to the appropriate standard of compassion, and in doing so setting aside your differences and grudges to do what is right and just, and that has nothing to do with where you may or may not live.

Thank you.. I want to share with you that I am happy for you. My experience has been horrific at times.. but still I would never want to take away from the joy and happiness from anyone once it is over for them. I would like to find away to make it known.. that the immigration system is a joke.. lol. It is! Not the entire country.. I have never said that. I am sad to leave my home. But I made this choice.. I am fine with that. I just would like to see that it stops hurting people like this.
