I disagree, the regional forums serve a great purpose in handling the regional specific questions and problems. The regional forums are also a way to weed out incorrect information by people from other parts of the world who's cases are different. For instance, I have knowledge in what was involved in immigrating my wife here from Canada, but I have very little knowledge of what's involved in immigrating a RUB or PI woman to the states, so I don't go in those forums offering advice, because it would probably be wrong.

the whole recruiting numbers thing and childhood indoctrination is not a concern of atheists. it is certainly important for your camp.

It's a shame that some religious people are so intolerant of those who don't share their beliefs. I don't think religious people are stupid, yet they're so quick to call me stupid for disagreeing with them. I'm sure God would be proud.

No atheist worth his or her salt would spend any time trying to prove god's existence. It is a physical impossibility to prove a negative.
By your own rationale then, it is quite likely that all the religious persons deep down inside know there to be no god, for so many of them go to such lengths to prove god's existence. Perhaps you should try and click your heels three times. You may end us in Kansas, god willing....

It's a very exclusive club.. I understand there is a large sub membership of agnostics and other members who have a religious label applied to keep grandma happy but have not set foot near a place of worship in over a decade...

I don't know about the recruiting efforts, I went through the pile of Awake! Watchtower and other dogma piled in my garage but I did not come across the atheist pamphlets.They must not be making the rounds this month. I found a math book maybe that's close? I'll get some blasphemy stickers and make sure its properly labeled to protect the children.
If people start using the Tooth fairy as a reason to change the school curriculum, judge my behavior, and take vast amounts of land tax free for gathering spots for the Fairy believers then I might having something critical to say about them. It is not "Evolution vs God" among most of those that believe in God, only those that take the Bible (or the Koran, or any other sacred religious text) literally with a childlike mind, which okay if that is you, but you do not speak for all Theists. It is quite possible to believe in a Creator and believe that evolution is the path He set in motion.

Why would 'atheists' be pissed? Atheists are not a group that is identifiable in any way beyond that they do not believe in a god so how can anything piss them off as a group? Most people do not know or care about this video, atheist or not. Never mind Danno, stirring the pot is not your thing.

um. i would appreciate it if you took a five minute time out to think about the comparisons and time periods you're throwing about as if all social, historical and economic factors are interchangeable. seriously, i think you and danno picture today's poor west virginian folks saddling up the horses and loading up their families into covered wagons in hopes of striking gold out west..

i live about fifteen minutes away from the wva line, eastern panhandle. white poverty in wva is nowhere close to myth status; white generational poverty is very real in wva and very prevalent.

Find some kids that want to form a punk band and offer them rehearsal space for free. You can usually have loud music up until 10 pm in most Cities.

Look at my signature below. My case was stuck at TSC for 49 days. Done everything: call/email USCIS, NVC, DOS, Ombudsman, SCOPSSCATA@dhs.gov, US Senators & Congressman (not really helpful, but still do it), Infopass... ect...
Finally, I called the TSC office of director directly. After pleading and explaining that no one knew exactly where my case is, the man who answered my phone call looked up my case and said: "it's here at TSC, but in the "wrong" place, Infopass can't even help you. He didn't explain where or what the "wrong" place was, and promised to fix it in a week. And it worked. They don't deal with application, but they could get greater access than those useless contractors with USCIS
My suggestion is to call, email, and fax directly to everyone on the list above (if you haven't), and call the TSC director office. Time ot carpet bombing them with your letters!
