  1. Preparing my IV package:

Just wanted to make sure we need to send original and photocopy of :

    marriage certificate

    passport copy of petitioner

2 passport sized photo ( name and case Number of back)

    Birth certificate of Petitioner

    Police Certificate is not required.

Print out of IV form with bar code

Is there anything that I am missing?

    Any help is appreciated

When you say petitioner you mean beneficiary? Because you have to send passport copy and BC of beneficiary!

  2. Does it mean nothing is happening? This message was three weeks ago and it has not changed.
Must the message (online status at site) change if we have already sent some forms and paid some fee? Or will it change when the case will be approved?

It doesn't change when you send forms. I was thinking it is suppose to change to "ready" when case is complete, but it didn't change for me and for some other Vj members. So I believe it will only change status when your case is sent to your Embassy.

  3. Hello, I am new to this forum. This is really a very useful place to find info and connect.

We(me and my husband) just found out our F2A visa status today to be ready for interview on Oct 21. My husband is LPR and I am the beneficiary.

Thanks for sharing your interview experiences.

    Good luck to all!

Congratulations! What is your priority date and when did you receive interview letter? Good luck on the interview!

  4. Just paid IV invoice fees n It shows in processing. .. Now where can I get DS 260 form? And do I hv to post original civil documents or I can send xerox copies of them to NVC??

    https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

You have to send the original civil documents to NVC. Don't forget to include the IV cover sheet.

NVC says you can send certified copies. http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html

What I understood, certified means that the same issuing institution gives you copy of the original document.

For Ukraine original documents and certified copies have to have Apostille on them in order to be valid in the US. Check if it is needed for your country.

I didn't send any original document, except Police Certificate. I did certified copy of Marriage Certificate. For other documents I just did notarized copies and put Apostille on EVERY document I sent. + translations with seals form translation bureau and text that translator is competent.

But this is for UKRAINE. I cannot say for sure it will work that way for other countries. Please find more info http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9215 for India

  5. the next day that we completed the case, we received a checklist, that my husband should bring to the interview. at least there will be no delay.

    It said:

In Part 3, Information on the Immigrant(s) You are sponsoring, please correct the following...

[x] Item 7. The total number of immigrants listed in Item 7 must equal the number of immigrants listed in Part 3, Items 1 through 6.f. In addition, you must also verify that the total number of immigrants listed in Item 7 matches the number you entered in Part 5 Item1.

Was it your second checklist for AOS? We also got checklist next day our case was complete, but it was second checklist for AOS (they requested N/A to be put where applicable).

  6. Yes, at the end lawyer told me, it was sent 22nd of aug and no body picked up from nvc and usps kept in there 2 weeks then sent back him...today arrived envelope arrived nvc but idiot lawyer forgot to add my last pay stub...I wanna squash him:) but im stil happy, can u imagine docs got lost:) hopefully I will ask help from congressman again:) if he wasn't helped me my application would be still in uscis...I hope u would get good news soon...

Great that the docs weren't lost! It would be really lengthy restoring them in Ukraine. My father's lawyer once forgot to send his docs, it was a disaster. I don't trust them since then biggrin.png

  7. here goes your Answer

as i mentioned before doesnt matter when they receive the letter

it matters when the case was complete add to it 45 to 60 days simple

Sorry, the question was whether NVC does the scheduling only one week or whole month long. Because there are speculations, that ILs are sent out only second week, or only last week and so on.

I want fellow VJ members including myself to have true info about what's going on there.

Some get IL same day as case was complete, some get in 20 days and some get in 60 days. It is totally dependent on Embassy backlog and visa availability (cut-off date). So no, 45-60 days is not a general rule of thumb.

  8. Doesn't apply to F 2 A

Can apply to fiancée or citizens

If it happen in October would be for one that has case complete early this month and his interview mostly will be last week of Octobet

Rule of thumb from your case complete date allow 45-60 days

Why doesn't apply? We already seen F2A folks receiving IL during first week, second week and last week. As I said, only third week is missing.

No mentioning of the date case complete ?

Then it's also true that they schedule second week

And they were done scheduling by Tuesday

Ask them when their case iwas completer

K&V Forever was scheduled for 10-16-13. I can see from theirs timeline that case was complete on Aug 1st.
