  1. Mindy, some AOS cases are transferred to the California service center for processing. They are the ones usually approved without an interview. Pray for a transfer letter

That's what I thought......and I have been!!! :yes:Actually, I have a CSC dance  that I do every night before I go to sleep and every morning when I wake up :jest:

 I wish you the best of luck.

Still waiting to hear from Eric :clock:

    Ditto!!!

    Good Afternoon All:

I too am awaiting Eric's return and good news.

Woogie: I realized that we are basically on the same time you are ahead of me a bit ( you already got the NAO1  ) Just a quick question ( I think ahead with eveything  I gotta or I think only of negative things) Are you going to go down for Trevor's interview when it is his turn??????

    Yes.

  3. Last night my daughter had baby boy, now that it looks like my experience with Immigration is just about over (please, please), I need to get my daughter moving on her's her husband is from Brazil, on some kind of work visa.

It never end's, by the time her's is done, I'll probably be helping the wife on her fathers or someone... It's really never going to end...

Congrats Granddaddy :D . Is this your first grand. With so much immigration experience maybe you could turn it into a business. Just thinking, with you having a child in the future, your grandchild will be older than his uncle/aunt :lol:

  4. Okay Eric -- TOO MUCH INFORMATION

    :lol::lol::lol:

I am beyooooooond frustrated. I had a mini breakdown this morning in front of the Manhattan Federal Building. I had to schedule a 2nd infopass appointment for this morning at 7:45am because yesterday they gave Squito no helpful information and told him that he needs to ask his wife to put a "tracer" (whatever the fluck that means) on the check to prove that it has been cashed. When I relayed that message to my bank representative she simply told me that the person who gave us that info "doesn't know what she's talking about" I figured.

Anyhoo, so I accompanied Mr. Squito this morning to the infopass appointment. After waiting for damn near half an hour to be called up to the window (it was eerily reminiscent of the infamous Kingston Embassy experience) I showed the immigration officer the two rejection notices, the NOA's that were received, the cancelled checks, etc. He immediately realized the error but was unsure of how to fix it. He sent us upstairs to the 9th floor, to the EAD room. Once there, we waited for another 20 minutes only to be called up by the most idiotic, unhelpful, rude, ugly, nasty demonic immigration officer ever. He wouldn't even allow me to explain my case because he simply looked at the rejection notice and said he cannot help me. I'm like mothereffer you didn't even hear the problem to know that you can't solve it!!!:angry::angry: He pretty much dismissed us. I walked away loudly calling him an a$$hole, everyone in the room could sense my disgust. We want back downstairs to the fellow that send us up to the EAD room. He suggested that I write a new check and save myself the hassle of trying to correct the problem. He figured that it's more time than it's worth to try to solve it and attempted to rationalize my loss my telling me that it's only a $10 difference.

This is soooo not about the money. There is a little something called principal. If it had been my error, I would have had to fix it. But it's their error and I end up paying for the same thing twice. Bastards....

On a happier note, Joanna...congrats on the interview date, it'll be here in no time! :)

Darah, congrats on Henry's daughter getting her visa

So what ended up happening. Was there no one else you could talk to since the first person realized that it was their mistake????

  5. Good morning all. It's so exciting reading all this news. I can't keep up.

I wanted to tell you all that we finally got through to the embassy and got Henry's daughter her tourist visa finally. All of my lobbying finally worked...mom just walked in and asked for the lady and the woman came back with the visa fixed into the passport...no questions asked.

We are so excited! She may even come this August!

THat's great news. I know you must be excited. How old is she?

  6. Congrats Joanna- May 9th will be here before you know it

Eric your time is just about here and I'm thinking of you and your wife.

Mrs. Squitto-hopefully everything will be resolved today.

Tenika have a great trip and a successful interview!

Dee and Dave- hopefully everything will work out with his daughter (L)

Anna-good to see you and congratulations to everyone on their weightloss  .

    Lee- you already know :star:

    Good evening everyone.

    Michele (F)

    DITTO to everyone !!!

Well, we (me and my son) are definitely not going down to JA for spring break, a little bummed......but....I just found out about an hour ago that I got confirmed for a travel agent trip to Montego Bay/Negril for April 24-27th. I'm WAY psyched !! I requested another month for our case and it was granted. They seem to reply back to my emails quickly? So time is ticking....

Who is going to Jamaica ? Where is everyone staying ? and what dates will those that are heading to JA be going ?

    Kelly

    Hey Kelly,

I'll be in Negril the 19th to the 26th. When will you be in Negril?

  7. Good morning,

I have a quick question, I just realized that I sent in the I130 but I did the pictures incorrectly. It says to place the photos in a bag-I did

place the bag on a piece of paper -I did

label the bag " Photo of <spouses name>- I did not do that , what I did was put the names on the respective sheets. Will that be a problem ? :help::help::help:

Oh my God I think I did the same thing!!! Since I got the NOA1, do you think they'll want it done the right way.

the interview went well, i was first called to window 5 and a charming young lady took all my documents and gave me my x-ray result and asked me 2 questions: have i ever been to the usa and have i ever been married. Silly me thought that was all, she told me to have a seat and after about 5 minutes a man called me at window 9, and when i went there he drilled me with a lot of questions such as:

    1. how i met my fiancee

    2. when was the first time we met

    3. where di she say when she came to jamiaca

    4. which college did she attend

    5. what was her major in college

    6. where are her parents from

    7. how many people lives in her home

    8. do i have any saved emails, from when we just started to email ecah other.

    9. etc.................

and a about ten other questions. He was really sweating me. But in the end i GOT THE VISA.

    Congrats :dance::dance:

Hope everyone's weekend is going great and as planned. As you can see what kind of weekend I am having. I am so bored, I am writing to myself. Hey, woogietail I see you down there.

  9. Just a few quick question(aneone may reply), :help::help::help::help:

when the I130 was sent out, was it sent priority mail or expedited service?

Would either of you suggest that I send ithe petition either way and also register it?

Also about writing a cover letter fo rthe I130, do I really need one I have prepared it bu tI do not see where it is mentioned for the I130 only the I129F.

Also on the G325A for myself where it mentions the employments, I included a letter specifying each occupation-is this recommended or shoulf I just leave it alone, and stop feeding them more information than requested?

I could really use your knowledge on this. :innocent:

    Thank you.

I didn't send a cover letter with mind. I did send it return receipt requested. I don't know about the G325, I just put retired, I did not put that I had only been retired for 3 months and what I had done prior to that, now you got me thinking.

  10. GOOD MORNING! (F) TGIF

Dee~ Your EAD and AOS paperwork should all go to the Chicago Lockbox...That is where we sent everything.

Well Andre passed his driving test by 2 points. So much for that perfect score that he was going on and on about :lol: Honestly I am so happy that he can now be independant and out on his own but I am sooooo worried about him getting in an accident or even getting a ticket. He is really not a good driver and I can't believe he actually passed...although the examiner did say he still needed a lot of practice but that he had the basics down. So keep him in your prayers that nothing bad happens from him being a little too over confident and cocky

Congrats to Andre and he definitely will be in my prayers. Not to worry to much, though.

  11. Hello Everyone! Hope Everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Rohan- finally got descent treatment at the hospital. They xrayed his hand and said his hand was broken and some bone shattered. Now this part I dont get...They asked him if he want surgery or a cast  . What person would ask for a cast, but I thought you couldnt fix shattered bone without surgery. Anyway I guess he will wait till he is up here to get some descent medical care for that hand.

I have the same question as Somone, I may have overlooked but I didnt see an answer. How much is that fee the you have to pay to the professional carrier to get your visa. Will they allow you to pick the visa up?

My husband had his interview today and he said the fee was 400 or 500ja. They will allow you to pick up the visa in Kingston but i am not sure on the cost. He jhad the courier service deliver the visa to MOBAY

Congratulations Simone and hubby on getting their visa today!!! :dance

Thank you. I gave my husband experience in the embassy review. He said it was an okay interview. I think it was easy because we had all the information before hand. I followed all VJ tips and guidelines. I even followed the shortcuts and it really worked. It took us less than 5 months to get the visa (from start to finish). I am so happy that I found this website. It was truly helpful. Please feel free to ask me any questions. I want to be helpful. I feel that you guys at VJ have giving me so much and I want to give back - if I can.

I maybe going on but I am so happy right now I can cry! I just don't know what to do with myself.

By the way, did anyone go through Atlanta for their POE?

CONGRATS SIMONE, I HOPE MINE WILL BE THAT EASY :dance::dance:

  12. Where is the Caribbean grocery store where you live? Do you know of any closer to Richmond? I may have to drive up there to shop. Anthony only eats fish, vegetables and pizza. I want some Ackee!

Ann - the only Caribbean store I know that sells fresh saltfish, king fish and red snapper is in Hyattsville, MD. Come on up so we have all-you-can-eat ackee and saltfish at the Crossroads for Sunday brunch. Then to the grocery stores

Make it on April 16th and I will join you :luv:

Good news, Squito just got the letter in the mail for his biometrics appointment. His appt is scheduled for Wedesday, April 5th at 2pm!

Do I need to go with him? :hehe:

    That was quick....congrats!!!

    Ditto that

    Hey Rhonda,

Good luck on your new shift....do you keep busy at work or are there slow times...I know on my night shifts when we are slow I have a portable DVD player and I can watch movies, but I am sure you work is way different then mine....at my job if someone is not sick or thier house is not on fire and we get pretty slow...thats pretty sad that at my job I only work if someone is having an emergency...although it seems like lately we have been so busy even at 3am in the morning... Me and my friend have a joke between us, everytime when we are driving and we see some idiot driving crazy or some foolish person walking across a busy street and not paying attention..we say "OH theres Job Security":whistle:

Well I just got back from my 1st Weight Watchers meeting....wish me luck I would really like to lose 20 lbs before my wedding....although I have already bought my dress and it might be too big...thats ok though my dad said if i lose weight he would pay to have it altered to fit me, he just wants me to lose weight.

Weight Watchers is great. I did really well till I had to stop going. Trying to play a good Mom and gave my son my car, so I won't have transpo for at least a couple of months, then I will join again. I really liked those meetings. So hang in there you'll do good.

  13. Good evening VJ family,

Good new! Anthony got his driver's license. He has been driving everywhere since he got it. His license expires on April 11, 2006. He will need an EAD or green card to get a license for a longer period. I don't see why they wouldn't give him the amount of time his NOA for the AOS stated the processing time for the application (180 days). That makes more sense but then I don't make the laws.

Congrats Anthony on getting your license. Did he drive before in JA?

Congratulations to Anthony! I know he must be thrilled.

I have to say it though, to give him a license that expires in a few weeks does not make any sense to me

. I agree with your reasoning and timing Ann.

But still I am happy for him and I know it must be a relief for you too.

I have a long commute to work and don't like driving much more than I have to. Chauffeuring is not my idea of fun.

Mine either. Before I retired, I had an hour commute each way. Now that I am home, my sister has severe rhuematoid arthritis and sometimes is in too much pain to drive to her numerous doctors' app. so I have to drive her and my mother doesn't drive, so everywhere she goes I'm the driver, so the idea of adding a third person to drive around is not very appealing, but those are the breaks, you know I won't be complaining, except to you guys  .

  14. Good Sunday morning everyone (F) .

Joanna let us know if you get any good ideas from the bridal show.

Has anyone had to deal with picky eaters? Mine likes fresh seafood and produce. Fresh seafood here is not readily available and at the store costs like an arm and a leg. What are some of your men's favorite non-West Indian foods? I know he does eat Chinese and KFC occasionally.

    Michele

Trevor has never really had non-West Indian foods. He has eaten fried chicken and fries but from a restaurant in Negril. I got him to try Burger King, only because we were in a hurry, he was sick all night long. I don't know how he will adjust to the cooking here, especially my mom's. She does that old fashioned southern style soul food cooking especially on Sundays.

    Michele

Yeah chinese and KFC for Adrian also...he does eat chicken pizza sometimes...But I am the picky eater, Adrian will try just about anything once...he did like lasagna (sp?) that I made one time.

Michele if you can find a seafood market in your area, then stock up during the time when good fish is avaliable and get yourself a Food Saver and freeze it....I have an old Food Saver that is on its last leg  I use it all the time...I hope to get a new one as a wedding present.

My parents just went to north Florida and went to a great seafood market there and they packed the fish and shrimp for them and all they had to do when they got home was put it in the freezer. Mom said that it tasted very fresh when she went to cook the fish.

    Now I'm starving and it's just 9:30 am. :D

    Joanna

  16. The results are in: IT'S A BOY!!! :dance::dance:

Rhonda - Sorry they are changing your schedule. Don't they ASK you about these things... what if you had some sort of problem like the other lady?

Anna - Happy Birthday to your daughter!

Joanna - I hope you find a hotel you like. Are there are other options for you to look at?

Hope everyone has a great weekend :D(L)

    congratulations!! :dance::dance::dance:

  17. I am so upset and mad  My boss just told me today that starting this Monday, I have to go to afternoon shift :ranting: I HATE afternoons. I will never see Tony or any of my family or friends for that matter. I have had enough of this damn job. The lady that is on 2nd shift now is coming back to days because she has "issues" with her babysitter and her kids. That's not my problem! How come I get punished? Life sucks

Sorry Rhonda :( . I feel for her but I agree that you shouldn't have to pay for her problems. It's always something.

    Ditto. That sucks.

    Double ditto. That sucks.

  18. Ok guys I need help, I just got addicted to this http://ht.bidz.com/ web site...I cannot stay off it  ...I have already bought Adrian a watch and now I have been watching the site for a titanium wedding band that my brother wants...I check the site like every 5 mins....I thought I was addicted to VJ but now I have two addictions :lol: ... I have to watch myself or else I will spend our savings :bonk: ...I am weak when it comes to jewelry, it is bad enough that I own and small jewelry business, I want to buy everything in my catalogs

Ok well I am just here bored at work, I have 15 mins left and I am outta here, I am off tomorrow

    So until later, Joanna

Joanna what are you trying to do to us shopaholics girl? :P We don't need to add to our addictions especially when this process can certainly drain your finances. Nice stuff though  . Joanna have a good day off and everyone have a great Friday!

    Michele

That's right Michele, get on her. Bad girl  . Yesterday, I had to borrow money to put to my 33 cents to buy a stamp. Now that's really pathetic. Everyone have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend. It's suppose to snow here again this weekend. The joys of being home in the mountains :crying:

  19. Hi Everyone!

    How is everyone doing?

Joanna and Adrian~ Glad to hear about the promotion! Don’t work to hard Joanna.

Squitto and Georgia~ Sorry to hear about the AOS troubles. Have you heard anything?

Rhonda~ Sorry for the loss. I hope Tony has a safe trip.

Jonesie~ Good luck with the finals girl!

Jill and Lake~ I agree that your gut instinct is what you should go with. I know Lake will find a job that suits him in due time

Mindy~ How is it going? How is Roy doing?

Jill~ Hope you had a great trip! I am sooo jealous of you all going to JA.

Julie~ Congrats on the EAD  Any ideas for a job for Michael? Tomorrow is the big day for finding out what gender the baby will be  Good Luck!

Good luck to the upcoming interviews!

Big up to everyone else! There is just so many of us now! :luv:

Well I am surviving. Life just send you for a loop sometimes. Andre went for his drive test yesterday but we found out the brake lights weren’t working so they wouldn’t let him take the test. He is rescheduled for next Thursday. Still doing the job search thing. We are putting a resume together as we speak. He is currently doing some side work for a couple from church and it’s paying $8/hr so that’s a good start. It’s just sporadic and nothing that will last long but it has boosted the spirits. The only part that is bad is that I am now a full time chauffer shuttling him all over the place and I think my job is getting a little sick of it to be honest. He needs to get his license quick. Well this weekend we are putting up a 300ft fence for the dogs…the garage is just not cutting it and now that Andre is working in the days we really need something bigger and outdoors.

    Jamie :star:

Send them here, I'll be glad to do doggy daycare :lol::lol:
