Ok, you guys have all said this already, but it is DEAD in here
Where is everybody???
Tony and I are going to a wedding this Saturday. His boss is getting married. Then we are leaving Sunday to head north to my parents cottage for 4 days or so. It worked out great because I have the 1st week of July off every year for shut-down at GM and Tony has it off because his boss will be on his honeymoon
I'll actually be able to spend some time with my boo
Now let's just hope we can go that long without arguing
What is everyone else up to for the holiday? Besides Elizabeth who already told us her travel plans
Have fun!
Wish I could spend some time(all) with my boo instead of boo-hooing
-
Hola peeps! Just wanted to say adios before I left for vacation. I am heading to NC for a few days to see my mom and family. BEHAVE until I get back!!!
Have a great 4th of July holiday everyone!!
Have a great trip and wonderful holiday.

Where is everyone? There are hardly any post tonight.
Well Thursday is my last day of work yippe I get the whole week off of work for July 4th week. Wow the water rising on the north east looks crazy. Is anyone living in these floods? They look devestating. I hope it stops raining soon for you all. I can't beleive that one town in PA has to evacute 200,00 cause the dam can't hold. How is everyone's day going?
Well, I just had my final wedding shower and I got many nice Caphlon pots and pans, a george forman with those removeable plates, silverware, card table and chairs, pizza pro zapper (the best ever), my blue dishes, baking dishes, towels, picture with the saying about becoming one, some gift cards and money. I have no room now left in my kitchen it's ity bity and overflowing at the seams. I will need to start to give my old pots and pans to the good will. They use to be my grandma and grandpas and they are very old.
I am hoping Dwain doesn't need his passport to get married because they said it won't be in until the end of July. It's taken him four months to get the passport ugh. I hope they can use his birthcerficate with his ID card for the wedding certificate. hmmm
Michele how is Tristian doing? Is he feeling a little better at all. The violence in JA is scary. I hope he has a fast and speedy recovery.
Well since the wedding is all put togther for the most part I am going to go look at the paperwork we need to start for are K-3 visa. Does anyone know if the can speed the delievery of our marriage certificate in JA so I can get it before I leave. Do I have to pay extra for this? I am staying a little over one more week after we are married. Any help on this would be appreciate.
Did everyone go on vaction for July 4th all ready??? What is everyone doing for independence day? Take care everyone and Best Wishes
Jax
Trevor doesn't have his passport yet, and our wedding went off without a hitch. We were informed that it would take two weeks to get the certified marriage certificate back no matter what. I was only there a week after the wedding. It might be quicker if you go to Kingston to pick it up. Check with the minister since he is the one that handles that. I am not doing anything on the 4th, since I work at a hospital, I work that day, but I get off at 3, so if I still want to do something, it won't be to late. Since I won't be able to go to JA for that day, I'm not doing nuttin

Kelly -- How is Craig adjusting? Congratulations on finally getting him here!!
Craig is doing great !!! He's still "adjusting" to our surroundings at home.....like getting used to 2 cats and one is about 30 lbs (and sleeps at the end of my bed) and the other afraid of Craig. As I type, Craig is playing with the likkle one with a cat toy.
He just told me that he wants to make dinner tonight, so we're gonna go to his 1st "big" grocery store today (cause I haven't had any time to go shopping) and my son wants to go take him to Toys R Us.
Welcome back home...I love San Diego.
I'll be checking in with eveyone in a couple days.
Kelly, glad to hear everything is going great.
Kelly-glad to hear everyone's adjusting well. I'm always curious about newcomer's reactions and misconceptions about their new surroundings. So, for Craig and Kelly and those whose SO's have never been to the US before their visa was issued; what was the biggest misconception they had about the US?Kelly do you have a wedding date set yet? Small or large wedding? I know that you mentioned in the past that your family probably will not be receptive to Craig (interracial marriage). Do you think they'll change their minds once you get married?
For everyone else with wedding/reception/ceremony plans in the works, how's it going?
Squito? Jax? Julie?
How are the mommies-to-be doing? Also new mommies Juliana (babyjules), Georgia(popcorn)?
Mindy how did Roy like San Diego?
Best wishes to Ann and Anthony on their upcoming interview next week!!
Dru; no recent touches?
For those who have finished with their journeys for the time being, and those who started but for various reasons were not able to get off the ground or complete (like me); please keep in touch and let us know how you're doing
. As for me-things are looking up; for now
...will keep you posted.
Anna, how's your weight loss going? I was doing pretty good, then the move caused all this stress and the pounds mysteriously B) piled back on
It'a a never ending battle
Have a good weekend everyone!!
What do you mean, things are looking up???????????????????, Michele
Hi everyone just checkin.. Can't read that much just got out of the hospital. We think it was food posining. Stay away from those Chinese BuffetsI will check with you all later when I feel better. Hope everything is going great!
Jax
Sorry to hear about that. You have to be so careful. My sister almost died from food poisoning about four years ago, she was in ICU for a while. We think it was Long John Silvers but couldn't prove anything, at least the doctors said they were not sure what it came from. Hope you are feeling much better.
Please keep us in your thoughts. Tristan was shot today on his way to work. The hospital won't release any information to me and I haven't been able to reach his mom since she called me this morning. I'm devasated and praying that he will be ok. Please, please pray for us.Michele, I am sorry sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Squitto - what is a candy buffet? I've never heard of that
It's something similar to this...
instead of giving out candy favors, you set it out for your guest to take from the candy bar
This really looks cute. I've never heard of that before

Evening everyone!
I have been busy getting documents ready for our interview on June 29. I am so nervous about this. We sure could use a stamp of approval.
I am job hunting myself. Retirement is not for me.

'I am still in shock' - Manning's student gets full scholarship to Yale
published: Friday | June 16, 2006
Dalton Laing, Gleaner Writer
Natoya Janeen Peart, upper sixth form student at the Manning's School, catches up on her reading at her school in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland. - PHOTO BY DALTON LAING
SAVANNA-LA-MAR, Westmoreland:
SHE WAS not the most popular student at Manning's School, even after achieving eight distinctions from the eight subjects taken at the CXC level. But when news of her acceptance to the prestigious Yale University in the United States reached home, all eyes were on Natoya Janeen Peart.
The 18-year-old sixth form student received a full scholar-ship valued at US$48,000 (J$3,168,000) for the first year with renewable capabilities for the ensuing ones.
"I was shocked at first because I didn't know I would get through at Yale," Natoya told The Gleaner. "When I got the call I was wondering if it was some kind of a joke, but afterwards I started to believe and even now I am still in shock but very elated."
The scholarship, which she intends to take up in September, is a financial aid award which is awarded based on the applicant's financial need as well as academic achievement.
With Grade one passes in Mathematics, English language, English literature, Spanish, social studies, chemistry, biology and physics, Natoya intends to pursue studies in oncology. The scholarship will include full payment for tuition, boarding, books, travelling and vacation allowance.
"I decided to be a cancer specialist because my mother is a survivor, a cousin of mine survived a brain tumour and another cousin has skin cancer," she said.
Her mother, Nalda Peart, senior Public Health Inspector at the St. James Health Depart-ment, still holds a report from the Savanna-la-Mar Infant School where the principal, Mrs. Pearl Ottey, foresaw that Natoya "has great things ahead".
Manning's principal, Gloria Wagstaff, who describes Natoya as respectful, helpful, alert, said it was not a surprise to the school when news broke of her achievement.
Natoya's father, James Peart, a minister of religion at the Suite Cliff Mount Baptist Church in Whithorn, Westmoreland, where the family resides, has just one advice for his children: "Aim for the sky."
Happy birthday Marsha
This is really strange, not the word I'm looking for, but, Her father, Rev. Peart is the minister that married me and Trevor. This is great news.

We got our AOS intervire on August 16th....... Lord this long list a things to bring.
richie going to get his permit today so lets see how that goes!
Best wishes on your upcoming interview and good luck to Richie today
Rhonda - pregnancy is going great. And yes, we're on a countdown now... it's coming up so soon - but we're ready, everything is set up.Guess What Everyone - WE GOT THE GREENCARD YESTERDAY!! I can't believe we're really truly done for 2 years. What a nice feeling.
Glad to hear mama and baby are doing fine.
Congratulations on getting the greencard!!
Squito's mom. She was denied for her visitor's visa.Sorry to hear that; what a shame. I'm curious how some with less ties are able to get the visitor's visas? I'm wondering if Robert's (rncarterjm) mom was able to get her visa to attend his wedding. Last time we "spoke" he was supposed to be coming to the US on July 5th.
Ms. Suitto, I am so sorry!!! That is really just how Kingston goes with the tourist visas!! No rhyme! No reason! Henry's best man came with similar evidence as your MIL. He's a minister with four churches and a teaching job. He too is a homeowner and has a fiance and a wedding for which invites went out and a hotel in Mobay booked for the reception. And they did not look at the letters from the job or the bank statements, did not look at the contract with the hotel (He would loose some serious loot if he did not come back) and they denied him. Now get this: another friend of his brother's goes to the embassy with NOTHING but an invite letter and some 500JD in the bank. Guess what? He got the visa. And guess what? Right now he is in Georgia and married a nurse within 2 months of his arrival.that doesn't make any sense!!
Well, we just got back from Atlanta and we had a succesful interview. The appointment was at 12 p.m. and the security officer didn't let us in until about 11:30. So we got to the room at 11:40. There were a lot of other people in the room before us and a lot came in after us. I saw several lawyers come in, so then I started to wonder if everyone brought lawyers. We decided not to ask our lawyer to go with us b/c I felt like I did most of the work anyway.
We were thinking that we were going to be in there a long time based on all the other people ahead of us. However, at 12 p.m. exactly the door opened and a lady called our name. We couldn't believe it. The lady we had was very nice. She asked for our EAD, AP, I-94, and our IDs. Then she asked the following questions:
When did we meet?
Have you ever been to the U.S. prior to now?
Have you committed a crime?
Do you plan to have multiple wives?
Do you work?
When did we get married?
That's really about it. She didn't ask for any evidence such as pictures, bills, insurance, etc... She didn't ask for anything that was listed on that interview letter announcement.
From the time she called our name, we were out of the building within 15 minutes!! Oh, she did give Dice a stamp in his passport automatically so he can travel now without the greencard. She said that we should get that within 2 weeks. So now I'm about to see if I can get a reasonable flight for him since the funeral is on Saturday.
Can you imagine if I would have had my lawyer come for that? We probably would have paid at least $300 for him. So we made the right decision.
Thanks for all of your kind thoughts and prayers!!!
Saundra
Congratulations Saundra and Dice

Hi Dru
Michele
Hi Michele, how are you?
Mrs. Squito, So sorry to hear about the visa #######. You guys have been through so much. Things have got to start going your way soon, you certainly don't deserve all of this s@#%*.

Very slow. Where is everyone? Oh... I know... Mindy is on vacation
Julie....you are sooooooo funny!!
Greetings from beautiful San Diego. We went to Sea World yesterday.....just hanging out and doing things with the kids -- my sister having four under six is the BEST birth control in the world!!
San Diego is great, I lived there for 2 yrs. when my kids were small. Then I moved up to the dessert. 4 kids under 6, a fate worse than death
Hey USCIS...."I wanna be [touched] by you and nobody else but you. I wanna be [touched] by you aloone. Boo Poo Pee Doo!!!"you are nutz
But I know how you feel.

Trying to keep cool here because its been real hot in the 90's. I hope it cools down Monday when I go back to teach. Finishing my last shopping items for the wedding on Saturday. Thats all folks.
Michelle congratulations on your new home. How long will it now take to unpack?
Everyone have a great weekend!
Jax
It's supposed to get real hot here this weekend too.
Will you be all set for the wedding after this weekend? When you you go to JA for your wedding?
Thanks Jax. Unpacking...
; I still have to start
. I only packed a few boxes; but now I have to really get cracking
. The moving van will be here in a couple of weeks for the furniture and big items. I can take the smaller boxes and clothes myself.
Congrats on your closing. You must be really excited. I don't envy the packing. Things jump out from nowhere, that you have to move.
-
um, I can't go on roller coasters. I was like, you at least have to *try*!!! We'll probably end up on the slow train ride and petting zoo just like Damien !!!
Roy basically said the same thing. It's probably a good thing we will be going with my sister and her four kids....no "big people" rides. The petting zoo might be right up his alley....
I hate roller coasters! Satan lives there!!!!
Me too. That's one experience that Trevor will have to experience on his own.
-
Hopefully they will replace the not so nice ones that are there right now !!!
Kelly -- Any news on when Craig is coming? Did they find the medical records yet?
Yes, Kelly - we're all wondering how things are going for you and Craig
Did he finally get his Visa? When is he flying here? We're all on the edge of our seats! Aren't you going crazy waiting when it's so close to actually happening now? You've waited for so long. The anticipation must be killin you
Hey Everyone,
I'm sorry that I haven't been able to checkin and post. My travel business has been sooooo awesome this summer and keeping me completely crazy busy !!!!
Anyway....so he's now FINALLY APPROVED !!!!!!!!!!!!! as of yesterday. VISA should be delivered to him next Tues and then he's coming to the states Thursday, June 22nd (1st day with CHEAP airfare) !!! We are ALL soooooooooooo darn excited, nervous and everything else that goes along with it!! My son, is (surprisingly) VERY excited !!!
My family will totally NOT be supportive and I have to laugh, cause we're having a family get-together sometime over the July 4th weekend....should be reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally interesting !!!
So remind me, what does he do with the "big brown envelope"? Do they do anything with it when he arrives into the states? For anyone who has flown to BWI, how was going through customs? Do they take him to a separate area? or is everything done right there at the both ?? This last trip was a breeze for me, but all my trips before that, I've been 3x looked over, asked questions and bizarre ones, etc etc. Craig is getting a little nervous about flying for the 1st time. His brother just called him yesterday, he's now in Philly on a tourist visa, so that'll be cool that he'll be an hour 1/2 from us.
As for getting married....it will be VERY small, not into the whole hoopla of the big wedding thing. We're shooting for the 18th of "a" month (cause his b-day is the 18th of Feb, mine is the 18th of May and we wanted our anniversary date to be the 18th of ??). My friend is going to marry us....wherever.
I can't believe we're at this point and ready to start the next PITA (pain in the ya know) point !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure I'll have TONS of questions.
Thanks for all of your support over this past year !!
Kelly
Yahoo, Kelly!!!
That's great. I am really happy for you.
-
Good morning everyone!!!!!!
Hope everyone has a great day!!!
Miss Kim have a SAFE flight tonight!!! i'll be calling ya after work!!!!!
BTW...looks like there is a light at the end of the tunnel with the IMBRA....it seems with in the next 1-2 weeks i should be getting a RFE to fill out 3 more questions...so i just pray that this will be the end to the hold up!!!
That's wonderful...
Oh wait, I forgot to tell you guys...we're going to St. Lucia for our honeymoon!!!! I cannot wait!!
That's fantastic, I heard it is beautiful, details, details when you get back
Thanks guys.......I am taking this so much harder than Roy is. He actually had a dream that they messed up his fingerprints and we had to do it over again. I'm just sick to my stomach.....
Now, if he starts having baby dreams I'm really in trouble
Squitto -- I am so #######, you guys know that. I looked all the forms over a MILLION times. I even had the girl who used to work with me (okay, she was dumber than a box of rocks, but...) look over all the forms. We didn't catch it. Oh well. Nothing I can do now but they tell me I have to do.
I guess it's better that I made the mistake instead of USCIS. Even if they made it, it still wouldn't make the process of getting a new card any easier.
Try not to take it so hard
you are only human and we all make mistakes
.
I do hope I get something earliere han Sapetember, but with this IMBRA I have changed everything to and approval in August and an interview in September ( mi nah go ramp-mi just a go sen out everyting has soon as mi get dem)
Don't even worry about the baby dreams it should be the fishes, whether it is him or any member of your family ( my sister dreamt about fishes for me) ,
ok, I am officially frustrated. Today must be a "day of calling and not getting anything accomplished" kindaI really think they give you such a runaround so you will end up just paying for it out of frustration!
I am so glad you said that! I was just talking about that very thing just the other day. I ordered something and they kept talking and talking to me about all these other "special offers" that I am going to get and I can try them free for one month then cancel. I told her I didn't want them to begin with....she said, "okay" then went along with the rest of her "sphiel."
Can't wait till I get to try to cancel all those "special offers." I just know they are going to make it really hard on me to cancel. I should save your post so I can just re-post it in 30 days
, my girlfreind ended up with 2 years of free service from them because they would cancel her trial period. They just kept on adding a few more months ( they lost out).
Good evening family,
I had the most lazy, laid back day ever. I stayed in bed all day! Funerals always leave me depressed and I had to take a vacation at home from everything and everybody.
Congrats Squitto on everythingHi Woogie,
I see you're getting some action finally!!
What do you mean? Are you seeing something that I'm not. Please let me know and what the heck does being 'touched' mean
-
Just checking in....I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Damien is working alot of OT this week - he's working from 8am to 10pm tomorrow. Now he's over his friend house playing dominios while I'm babysitting 5 girls
Congrats on the EAD Popcorn and Richie.
Sorry about the mix up on Roy's EAD card. I hope it can up cleared up with no problems.
Good to see you Leo.
Dee - we'll add our pictures soon.
Just curious........
This brings up a question I have for everyone........where does your husband meet friends to hang out with? I know Duane has tons of friends in Jamaica and he is really friendly so I am sure he won't have trouble making friends but where do they find em?????
Happy Sunday. Good question. Damien is very friendly but really do not want to make alot of new friends here. He says his friends are in JA. His co-workers are always inviting him out but he never go for some reason. Not having his drivers license yet may have something to do with it. The guys house he was over last night is a friend of a friend - they hit it off right away. He's Jamaican and lives around the corner. But all they do is drink beer, play dominioes and talk trash every once in awhile..... they don't go anywhere. I can't wait until Damien find friends to hang out with. Until then....it's just me & him
.
Dee - Glad to hear you daughter is okay
Since Trevor's not here yet, I don't know how he'll do. There are a lot of Jamaicans here, but Trevor is so introverted. He only has 2 friends that he hangs with in JA and one of them is his cousin.
Good Morning everyone.Do you gals know if there is anyway you could speed up the K-3 process. Is there a process that you pay more money if they can speed it up or knowing the right person? Or am I just dreaming cause I don't want to wait the nine months. Just curious if there was something special cause I have 2 months to look before I apply.
One
Jax
If you find a way, please, please
let me know!!!!!!

Hello ladies
Just checking in from the afternoon shift. Kinda quiet in here today. Does anyone know where Jamie has been? I hope she didn't hurt herself doing the Dutty Wine
I'm taking Friday off as a vacation day so I'll have a 3 day weekend
My sisters birthday is coming up so we'll have a little get together Saturday evening to celebrate. Then I think we have a BBQ at Jackie & Craigs (the other U.S./Jamaican couple we're friends with) on Sunday. What's everyone else doing this weekend?
Friday, I am going to a Sports Bar where a friend of mine is a bartender. I can drink Champagne til my heart's content or I pass out whichever comes first, all for free. I'm a little nift at Trevor right now, so that sounds like the sensible thing to do. Saturday, I am going to a Jazz concert. The town I live in is very, very small and totally country/western and Bluegrass, so I am quite surprised and curious.
Good luck Julie and Michael!!!My sweetheart has the flu today......
He is in bed with body aches, fever and a BADDDD headache!!
It been raining in Jamaica for 5 days straight.........
Why can't I be there now to help him.....he is trying to be tough but I can hear it in his voice...he needs some TLC......
Hope he feels better soon. Trevor told me about the rain. Everytime I talk to him he is pounding on something, I really do think he is building an ark.
Why hasn't USCIS touched our case again?Good afternoon everyone!
They haven't touched mine either. Or at least I haven't heard anything since the first NOA1 a month ago. By the way what is being touched?
-
Good morning
Tomorrow is Julie & Michael (Sbys) AOS interview. Please everyone, send them your best wishes for a speedy and easy interview.
Good Luck Julie and Michael
-
Hello everyone,
I have finally given up on trying to catch up. Every time I try, something happens and I get even further behind. So to everyone who has had good fortune, congrats and to everyone who has not been so lucky in whatever is going on in their lives, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Everything with Trevor and I are okay. The LDR seems to bothering him more so than me. Well I guess I really can't say that, I think I just handle it better. I finally got the NOA1 on the I129F, but have not heard anything since. Well I am going back to read a few pages and I mean a few. If I ask questions that have previously been addressed please forgive an old lady.
-
Hello everyone,
I am back, not by choice, however. I don't know how long I can do this. The depression when I come back is killing me. I don't know how some of you carried on a LDR for 2 or 3 years or longer.
Well I need to catch up.
-
Any comments will help.
Lately I find when I have to leave the kids home with David, they run over him. in other words are not obeying his orders, for instance if he tells them ( mainly my 12 year old daughter) to clean their room ,take a bath, wash dishes ect. esp after they have been to see their Father. David and I had a conversation this morning and he basically said that he doesn't feel comfortable living in a house where the children do not mind
. For the most part my children fear me and will do what I ask the second or third time at least
I'm not sure what I'm asking, but I don't want to be too hard on my children because I feel that they have gone through a lot in the past few months, Right now I feel like hanging the oldest one cause she just doesn't listen. I told her to clean the kitchen before I left for work, he told her again, again her excuse was she needed to do her homework, the same homework that she told me was complete before I left. So David is saying that he is backing off because he doesn't want confrontation form their father, he feels that he must be telling them not to obey him as it happens, like a said when they have been around him. I just want everyone to get along. It's not so bad for the boys, they are okay for the most part, but the other day my three year old said, "Jeffrey didn't have a home and now he dose", I'm like where did that come from?? I love this man so much, he is trying so hard and I want my children to see him for the man that their father is not.
I don't like to see him hurting because of this, I feel like I'm protecting them from each other. I think it's beginning to affect how he treats my children, the same day he caught my daughter rolling her eyes, he told her not to look at him like that, that he has a daughter as old as she and she doesn't disrespect him like that and neither would she.
I say nothing a pray that this will pass, but it keeps coming up...Anyways this is getting long, I think ya'll know where I'm coming from.I was open to any suggestions or comments anyone may or may not have. Things were going so good, I'm sure that it will pass but it scared me when he said he not comfortable, well, how do you think I feel
I agree with Jonesie, but I think that you need to talk with David to and have him clarify what he meant and what he intends to do about it. Things like this take time, a lot of time and patience. All kids are not the same and he needs to understand this. kids are creatures of habit and when you throw something new into the mix, it takes time for them to adjust. Who knows what their father is telling them. Give it some time, talk to your kids and if time doesn't seem to be the answer, go see a counselor, therapist, or your pastor. We'll always be here to talk to also.

Has anyone heard from Eric? I have not read all the forum. Woggie, are you still planning on going to DC?
Yes, but I won't get there till Monday, my Mom expects all of us to be around on Easter Sunday. Plus I have to board my dogs and less amount of days, the less amount of money. Will you still be there on Monday.

We want to join a gym...we were even talking about it over the weekend. The hard part is the closest gym is 20 minutes from our house...in the opposite direction from our jobs (so no stopping on the way home from work). To spend 40 minutest just to get there and back
and then however long you spend at the gym...
Then there is the gas prices that keep rising...
I know I am full of excuses
So after I get over all that we still have to wait til Andre has a steady job so we can afford it...gyms are crazy expensive
I have a lifetime membership at Fitness USA that I've had since I was like 18! I haven't used it in awhile
Sometimes I just go there to use the steam room, sauna, pool, and hot tub!
I bought an elliptical trainer for my house a couple years ago and I LOVE it
It's very low impact and it works out the whole body. And it's so much easier to work out at home - no driving anywhere, paying for extra gas, etc.. I just do 20-35 min. on that, then I lift my 10 lb. weights, then do crunches. I used to be really good about doing this about 2x a week, but lately .........
No time and 100 other excuses I tell myself
Where I live now, the gym is brand new, country coming up in the world, it has all new equipment and it only cost $50 a month for family plan. The good thing is they let me sign Trevor up so I could get the family rate, but they only charge me $25 until he gets here. I've been trying to go at least 4 days a week, now if I could just stop eating as much as I exercise, then perhaps it would work.
