  1. Okay, thanks for the information! I'm nearing the end of my maximum visit in Canada, so I'll make sure to have him renew his passport and get our K-1 rolling ASAP. At most we may have to be apart for a few days while I go back to the U.S and he waits for his passport renewal ( 2O day processing time and all that jazz ), but that should be fine.

    Thank you all ♥

Bear in mind that while, technically, he is allowed to visit you in the U.S. while the K1 is pending, he may not be let in, in fact, at POE, unless he has proof of ties in Canada and can show that he intends to go back, and not just stay forever. If he shows up at the U.S border without being able to show that he has a job to get back to and a place in Canada where he's paying rent, he might not be admitted.

  2. hi all: just waiting for NOA2 and thinking about future move to the U.S. I'm planning to have my stuff professionally moved when I finally get the K1. My question is, since the K1 is technically a non-immigrant visa, is it OK to have my stuff "follow" me in shortly after I arrive, or do I have to keep it in storage in Canada until we're actually married and I've applied for AOS?

    Thanks!

  3. visit the link below..................

    https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do

    it says now..

Expect a 30-45-day delay between when your application or petition is filed and when your information is available in Case Status Online, depending on the volume of applications USCIS receives.

it means no one knows the exact date, that when their petition is approved, untill u wait more 30-45 days, or by calling them (USCIS), it really comes on last nerve.

No, I think it's saying there will be an initial delay of when your info is posted online when you first file/apply. Nothing to do with a delay of notification of approval.

  4. My Chinese girlfriend and I have been planning on going to America this summer to visit my family on a tourist visa. I work in China as an English teacher and she works as a Trade officer so we plan on comig back to China after we get married. I at first thought the easiest way is to get married while she is here on tourist visa. She DOES NOT intend to stay in america. However we are scared this may lead to suspicion once she decides in a couple of years to immigrate to US. So is it better to apply for K1 visa and do you think we can get it processed by middle of July? It is end of feb. here? She does not want to have to deal with getting her hakou from her ex though. Or is spousal better option. Help please!

I'm not sure I agree that it's "no problem getting married on a tourist visa". You should not only be honest about it at the POE, but you should make a point of telling them your intentions, bring your evidence that you're not staying, and hope for the best. Otherwise, down the road, it might look like you entered under false pretences.
