Sure! I will PM it to you. Thank you!! I hope you hear something from them soon, too! Actually, I am not putting my hopes that high-- given that there is still a possibility that they can mess it up again and still send me a wrong PRC! I have to actually see the card before I can celebrate lol. But keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Thanks! I actually just realised that if they call the number on my I-751 application, they won't reach me. I had to change my phone number after I sent it off :P I appreciate it all the same, maybe I could call them and they'll tell me to get lost haha

So I just answered the call, because she called again, and told me that they are producing my card right now. She explained to me that it is better to email the customer center midwest email instead of the special cases, because it usually does take a long time before they can get back to the person. Also, she knew that I sent my green card prior to the recall, and said that the office where I sent my incorrect green card is not really speedy with these types of process (lol), and said that I am one of those whose card is just being produced right now. I also checked my account and everything she said was accurate; my status changed-- when my case was "re-opened" and my card is being produced and gave me an approx timeline of when I can expect the card.

She just had to verify some info, but nothing confidential, and I even told her I am not comfortable giving any info on the phone without confirming, so she gave me her name and where she is working from and all. I thought the call was legit when she gave me a recall number, and the subject of my email to the special cases email.

Maybe they are calling people who have been waiting for a long time (3 months since I returned my GC!).

Man, I hope so. That is great news for you, I hope you get your card soon! I hope I will hear from someone who can get the ball rolling. It makes me feel better knowing that they're aware of people who sent the card back before the recall.

Would you be comfortable posting the phone number here or PMing it to me? I want to save it to my phone because I get spam calls a lot that I ignore.

So somebody just tried to call me with a Kansas number, saying that they are from USCIS and is trying to reach me because I emailed the special cases email regarding my incorrect Green card. I am not sure if this is a legitimate call, because I don't answer calls from unregistered contacts, but that was the voicemail that this officer left me. Anyone of you got a call from them, too???

That is odd. I haven't had any form of communication from special cases.

Hi Ketsuban. Hang in there. I am sure you will hear from them/see a status change soon. We've all waited for so long for the I-751, and then with all this "admin error," they are once again giving us, we really all deserve better.

My patience is really being tested here, but lately I have become quite indifferent and just lowered my expectations.

    Mine too!

I emailed special cases again, basically just forwarded my first email to them sent on 4th June and said I haven't received a response and still don't have my green card back.

So I emailed both Midwest and Special Cases last Friday, and received a reply from the former. They apologized for the "inconvenience," and asked me to be "patient," and that USCIS is trying to working on my case in a "timely manner." It also again, said, that my card will be re-issued and re-sent to me. They didn't say when, but just that it will be...

Another update: I just checked my status via the mydhs account, and it was updated to my old card being destroyed, dated 07/13/18. Seriously, at this point, I am not sure what to expect, given that some of us here got the same status and then still received an incorrect green card... still keeping my fingers crossed.

I got the same response from Midwest, but my MyAccount page still says card recalled as of May 14th :(

I AM SHOCKED! After emailing the specialcases email and waiting for over 2 weeks, and reemailed them again this week. I decided to forward that email to the Midwest center email yesterday night. SURPRISINGLY I got an answer today, which doesn't say much but doesn't seem to be a generic answer ! Telling me that sorry for the inconvenience and that they have requested more information about my case. They stated that they will contact me once they received my details. I'm happy to see some movement... I, think the subject of the email made some effect "Received Green Card after recall. STILL WRONG RESIDENT SINCE Date".

All of you be strong! I hope this helps them see and further investigate the cases of us that sent the card prior to the recall. 😁

I emailed Midwest a couple of hours ago after seeing your post. I said something along the lines of I've been waiting a very long time now and is there any way they could look further into this or escalate it up the chain? I'm expecting a canned response again but Jeebus on a pogo stick, it shouldn't be this hard to print a friggin card that THEY told me to send to them for the purpose of reprinting.

I hope you hear something new from the service inquiry. I haven't heard from the specialcases email either. It is being 2weeks. I hope to hear from them this week, or I'll submit another service inquiry again...

Just as an update, I used the incorrect GC to go thru customs. No issues. I was a little scared that the officer will open my passport on the I155 stamp I got since I send the card to CSC and I had to explain my whole story...

Ketsuban, we should request the UScis to pay for our mental health. Lol. Every day I'm stressed out from this. Now, that my vacations have passed , I can stop worrying as much as before, but still worrying to have this card fix sometime this year!!

IKR!!! I think about it a fair few times a day. I wonder if they're just going to keep my card and I have to get passport stamps every year. Hopefully every time someone opens the service request they can see the many others submitted previously and can use some context to know that THEY are the ones who need to do something, not me.

  8. I've sent a request for assistance to one of my senators, Sherrod Brown this afternoon. I explained everything to him and signed off on a privacy release form. Hoping his team will help me!

Also, this self-described immigration lawyer on Reddit told me to file an I-90 for lost green card and pay the fee. Umm... I think not?? What are some of these lawyers smoking?

I wish I was kidding... Believe me, I really don´t want to deal with this anymore.. I called USCIS and the answer I got was to email the uscisspecialcases e-mail address. I really hope I don´t have to wait 2 weeks to hear back from them. Either way, I´m travelling abroad next week, so I have my stamp and this wrong GC.

Maybe now you have the wrong card back, you can mail it to the Eastern Forms Center and get it back in two weeks. If this happens to me though, I'm keeping hold of it until next year because I'm not letting it out of my sight before I renew my license :D

Well...I just received the GC.. STILL WITH THE WRONG DATE (resident since 3/28/2018)... it shows the same dates as my previous card (the wrong one). I have photocopies of my previous one, and it is identical. This is so frustrating... Do i have to start all over again?! What a joke! I don´t even know what to do now.

You are kidding me. You have to be. I can't believe they would be that incompetent. There must be someone you can file a complaint with.

  11. It's extremely easy to file as married while your spouse isn't residing here. For people filing a regular 1040 or 1040EZ, put NRA in the spouse's SSN field and file as married filing separately. If amending, do the same with a 1040x. This is what we did, then when I came out here we amended them to married filing jointly once I got my SSN and we got a refund from it. When filing jointly, use a 2555/2555EZ to exclude most/all of your spouse's foreign income that you reported on the 1040.

Growing up dirt poor, one of 12 siblings in a small village in south eastern Kenya, I saw my mom sacrifice so much, deny herself, so that we kids could eat. Today, all of us grown and with successful careers, we are virtually engaged in well-meaning wars among ourselves about who will have mom this year, that year, in our homes.

Me being the one that moved away so far, I get to have her just a month or two every other year! And now, in her late 80s, she doesn't want to travel 28 hours to the US, I have to go with the kids!

How I wish she would want to live with me, so my kids could grow with a grandmother's influence around them!

I can't imagine someone wanting to kick out their mother from their home. How much can she eat, especially in a family with already 5 mouths? A sixth wouldn't make so much difference.

But then, people and cultures, and personalities, are so different!

At the end of the day, no one asks to be born.

Ah yes, I hadn't realized that they were different to be honest... I think they gave me that Midwest email address in the second letter that they sent me... So I've used that one ever since. Good luck, hope you get movement soon 👍 Let us know how you get on 👍

Just got a response. They said while they can't give me case-specific info via email, some cards require additional review to ensure USCIS's information is up-to-date before re-issuing. They didn't provide a reason as to why and they didn't directly state whether my card is under additional review.

I definitely went through that email... And like you, I replied rather than starting a new thread. How strange! Try again... Maybe it was an error? Otherwise, I would call them maybe? To speak to a tier 2 officer, and explain to them that you can't contact them via email any more.

I'm being dumb. I was thinking of the customer engagement center email. I'm going to email Midwest right now, thanks!

Got an update today that my card has been mailed to me. I don't know If my email to the USCISContactCenterMidwest@uscis.dhs.gov email address a few days ago to inquire about my card status, prompted the action, or if it was just coincedence. They did email me back with a generic email basically telling me to just wait... But then I have seen movement since. So it might be worth emailing them for an update, and see if it prompts action on your case too 👍

I tried emailing them a few days ago and the email bounced back as unknown. I replied to the chain we had going so it's not like I typed it in wrong. Seeing that others are able to email them, I wonder if they set up a rule in their server to block my emails for some reason. I honestly thought they'd shut down their mailbox prematurely.

I received an email at 5.30am saying there is being an update in my UScis. dhs account. I had to log in to see the update. Now has changed to "We mailed your card to you. The U.S. Postal Service will deliver it.", but there isnt a tracking number. Neither is in the UScis. Gov account. Cant wait to see the cards in the mail😁

Yay! I'm still waiting on them to put it into production.

Ketsuban, I´m always amazed how fast you get answers from the e-mail or online inquiries (a bit jealous too hahaha). Today is being 2 weeks since I e-mailed both e-mail (recall email and the one shown in the uscis.dhs as special cases) asking for updates. I haven´t heard anything (not surprising... in my case it takes 2 weeks to answer, I might be on their black list:o

Anyway, I have couple of updates. This morning around 8am CST I received an e-mail sent from my uscis.dhs account saying "We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time". But I went to the account and saw a new update from June 19th: "We are producing your card and will mail it to you" and states that it can take up to 120 days to deliver your new card (120 days?!?! WHAT A JOKE!!!). I´m confused with the "no updates at this time" email and the update in the uscis.dhs with "producing your card". I hope this is true and I´ll have my card in less than those 120 DAYS! No updates in the old uscis.gov account.

Ah, well I got my response after 15 days and even then they were like "SEVEN DAYS" so... lol

That's great, I think you will get your card before 120 days. That's just their safety net to prevent too many service requests, I think. Mine hasn't updated from "We recalled your Green Card" yet, but you and BFP XX both getting those notifications is great news. I'll be keeping a closer eye on my account and pelting them with the SRs as usual until I get some plastic.

Hmm. They said they need another week???  I think I only did 2 service requests, and just kept emailing the email addresses that they have provided. I asked for an update from the customer engagement email add, and said they can't provide me with any other information as it is confidential and basically just told me about getting a stamp if a need to travel, and how I can track my card once they send it to me. And I was like, seriously???

I will send another service request today. This time, stating that it's outside processing times. I may contact the senator's office in our State if I won't get any reply before the end of this month, because they are seriously being unreasonable now.

Don't lose hope. BFP XX got notification that their card went into production today - they also sent their card to CSC so it looks like they're starting on them :) I would still send another request if you haven't already though!
