Just an update - they "responded" to my service request, and basically just repeated what it said on the recall notice. Seriously, do they ever read the "comments" that we put in whenever we send a service request? I explained my situation-- wherein I sent my incorrect green card to the address they initially instructed, prior to the green card recall. I emailed the email address that responded to me and instructed me to send a statement of when and where I sent my green card.

I mean, seriously. It sucks that being proactive led to this, but I am not sure if they know what they're doing at all...

That is really weird. I just came here to update on what my response was. I got it a few minutes ago. They said they need another week to research my inquiry and will get back to me. I told them the same as you, that I sent it to CSC and wanted to know the status of my expedite request. I'm hoping they'll look into it for real but I'd hate for them to come back and tell me to send the card to the Eastern Forms Center.

In your case, I would send another request. I'm trying to take the approach of annoying them into doing their job. Maybe in your next request, ask how you're meant to send a card that THEY HAVE to another service center. Actually, how many requests have you done now? I'm wondering if you should contact your local senator or rep to get the heat on these people.

April!! I hope you get your new and correct card soon.  It's ridiculous how excruciatingly slow, confusing and painful this process is.

Yeah, me too! I just tried emailing the email address on the recall letter and it came back as an unknown address. I replied to the loooong email thread we had going, so I know it's the correct address. They must have been overwhelmed with correspondence and decided to shut it down instead of deal with the problem. It's not just me, there's a few others who were instructed to send the cards back to CSC and request an expedite. Last I heard, they pulled my file for review but that was some time last month. I know it has only been two months but when there's no ETA, it makes people nervous. Especially since they're not being very transparent with us. I don't know if my BMV accepts passport stamps and I have a job to drive to every day.

Thanks Ketsuban.  I submitted a service request June 11 like you suggested but have not received a response from them. However, I checked my dhs.gov case status today (June 15) and the status was updated to "We are mailing you your new card." Finally!

There was no intermediate step of "We have received your card" or "We are printing your new card" so to anyone else still waiting for a status change, don't despair!  Although I do wish USCIS updated our case statuses more reliably to give us peace of mind, I would rather they worked on getting everyone their green card that they've been waiting so long for!

I'm not sure if the service request I submitted had any helpful impact on my timeline, but if anyone is still waiting I would suggest submitting one.

That's great news :D I'm on my third service request now after sending my card back late April. They don't seem to have any intention of re-printing it, but I'll just keep submitting requests until they do.

When I spoke to the tier 2 officer, he mentioned a letter will be sent out to the applicant in 5 days after a service request being submitted. Have you got that in your mail box?

It's really frustrated, I'm checking the status everyday, but still "we recalled your GC".

I always file my requests online and always get a response within about 2 or 3 weeks via email. I'm not sure what process Tier 2 is referring to.

Did anyone here return their green card through an officer at their local USCIS office?

I received the recall notice one week before having to travel internationally so I had to make an emergency InfoPass appointment to get an I-551 stamp and, at the appointment, the officer took the incorrect green card and said he would send it back for me.  I really would have preferred to have done it myself since I can't help but feeling untrusting of USCIS and their abilities with the wait times and countless errors!  But anyway, I let the officer return it for me and now my case status only has the May 14th notice of we recalled your green card. I feel anxious that the card wasn't returned properly.  The appointment was May 21st.  Do you think it's too early to reach out to USCIS to inquire if they received my card?  What would be the best way to contact them or the way you guys have had luck in getting a response?

That should absolutely not delay it. They instructed in their initial recall notice online that we could leave our cards with officers. Yet we're finding if we go outside of the recall center, we face unacceptable delays despite their claims to the contrary. I think you should submit a service request telling them what you did and ask if you're in line for a new card. Submit it under any category - I submitted one under "notice not received" and they replied to me with the subject "typographical error on green card", so it doesn't matter which you pick. I submitted one about a week ago and am waiting for their response. It will be my third related to this matter.

Did anyone tried to send an email to uscis by using the email address stated on the recall notice ?

Yes, but they are not much help. They told me they can't discuss individual case details via email due to privacy concerns. I think they may be a third party contracted by USCIS because they seem to have limited access to information. Best to keep communicating via service requests and infopass appointments, IMO.

Mine still says they recalled my card too. On May 26th, I submitted an online service inquiry requesting for some type of notice on my case. This was prior the e-mail from the recall letter told me to send the card. TODAY, I received an answer to my service inquiry telling basically this "USCIS is aware that the Resident Since date is incorrect due to a production error. You can check the status of your new card at www.uscis.gov/casestatus using the receipt number associated with your initial Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence filing.   " and to send my card with the recall if I haven't done yet... Thank you USCIS for telling me 2 weeks old news...

    I'm regretting being proactive too....

I'm going to keep writing in until they print my card.

I sent them an email too. lol I hope they would respond to us. I am seriously frustrated over the fact that we have done something early on to "help" correct their mistake, but then we are being dragged to this crappy show. I hope they do something about it, because I am tired to go back and forth. They say different things each time, make us do different things each time. I would celebrate if they get this fixed before the end of the month!

I definitely regret trying to be pro-active in this case. Myuscis still says they recalled my card. Not sure what to do at this point.

Just checked the my.uscis.gov account and I can see a new update (from May 14th, 2018), so new (meaning it wasn´t there last night, but now it is there) saying the following: "We recalled your Green Card". Now, the same page shows that they destroyed my card and that my card was recalled. Let´s see how long it takes them realize that...

Interesting. Mine has only updated to show the recall. Oddly enough, this update is dated 5/14, but I've been checking every day and this is the first I've seen of this update. No mention of my card being received or destroyed, but I already have other proof they have it so I'm OK for now lol. There's another email address we can pester: uscisspecialcases@uscis.dhs.gov. I'm going to email them now with the gist of everything going on and get told by them to stfu too lol

I am so happy. I had my N-400 interview today. Also had my ROC approved beforehand. After 20.5 months, I'm so happy to turn my name green. Good luck to all those still waiting.
I take my Oath on July 4th, which in Seattle is a huge gathering in Seattle Center. Cant wait. Such a special day to end this 6 year journey.

Congratulations Ozgirl, this has been a very long time coming!!!

So yesterday I received a response to my SR, and it was a completely incorrect response. So I called USCIS today, and spoke with someone. I explained everything, and she agreed that she could see everything I was stating on my account, the SR email response was just an agent error. She then asked me to read to her the duplicate email that I had received from the Eastern Forms Dept on 5/28... Turns out I dropped the ball, and the second email wasn't just a duplicate of the first... They were asking me to mail them my recall notice within 20 days, and a copy of the email that I sent to them, stating when and where I returned the error GC to. My bad for not reading it thoroughly!

So today I mailed them the recall notice with a copy of my email attached, in the prepaid envelope they provided. I was thinking about mailing it with tracking instead, however I'm concerned that if I do that, they may not open it, as they are dealing with the Recall first and foremost according to the agent I spoke with, so they may only be opening those prepaid envelopes during these coming weeks, to knock this recall out... So I'm going to have to risk it going out in the prepaid envelope they provided. Hopefully it gets there! Of course, I've made copies of everything.

The agent did tell me that while my mailed response will confirm that I'm part of the recall, and it will be noted on the system, I still may wait longer for my new GC to be produced, as it will still be processed in CA as opposed to the East Forms Center. So I'm still expecting a delay. BUT, at least they should have everything they need now 👍

I had to write a recall number on my own envelope so I'm sure regardless of what it was sent in, they'll open it :D Mine got delivered yesterday, I hope it pushes things forward.

  11. I emailed them again yesterday to tell them the letter wouldn't arrive on time. I expressed my frustration at the tight deadline they provided. This morning I got a stock message thanking me for returning my card. I emailed back asking them to ask California to produce my new card since they've had it for over a month now. They wrote back to me literally ten seconds later with another stock message but this time bolded and underlined a sentence telling me to be patient. Seriously? This is their mistake, not mine. They're acting like I'm sending my card to them and refusing to acknowledge that California has it. Are they stupid?

Sorry but I'm so frustrated at this point.

    Guys, any updates?

That letter that they told me to send on 5/26 with a deadline of 5/30 has not even left my state despite paying for priority shipping. I know it's not guaranteed to arrive, but that's kind of annoying considering I've had first class mail get to California in 2 days. I'm not sure if this means they will not accept the letter. Not sure what else could be expected with such a tight deadline but I did what I could. I haven't heard anything else from California, but I'm keeping an eye on my informed delivery dashboard to see if any packages are coming. Right now I feel like I will not receive a corrected green card but I hope to be proven wrong.

Yep, got the same response. I also threw away the prepaid envelope so I am sending via certified mail. Dang, they are making it too hard for us!!

I got the same response on Saturday early morning (someone might be doing extra hours). They are making this hard for the ones that we tried to fix THEIR mistake. They could have included that information in the recall letter instead making us email them and wait for another week.. I hope this is the last step, which have been too many already... Are you sending anything special with the statement?

As always, thank you for sharing during this looooong process. It really helps knowing I'm not alone dealing with this situation. Thanks!!

They really are making it a bit hard. Their response yesterday meant that I had to send my response in via priority shipping, hoping it won't get there after the cut-off of 20 days (for me that's May 30th, probably the same for everyone). I wonder if on May 31st they incinerate everyone else's cards/letters and never contact them again lol.

I sent in my statement which was the following:

    Quote

    To whom it may concern,

Prior to the recall being made public, I had contacted USCIS via online service request. I received instructions to return my incorrectly printed card to the attention of “Admin Error WS13386” located at the California Service Center in Laguna Niguel, CA and was also instructed to request an expedite, which I did. It arrived there on 4/26/2018.

I enclose the instructions I received along with the receipt notice I subsequently received when I inquired as to what the status was with my card. They stated they had pulled my file for review, but to date, I have not received my new card. Today marks one month since they received my card.

I am wondering if California could transfer responsibility of printing the new card to the Eastern Forms Center so that it may be completed in a timely manner, per the three week turnaround time noted in your recall notice.

    Thank you.

Then along with those enclosed documents, I put in the original recall notice. Made a copy for myself. Who knows what will happen now, but at the very least, I'm glad that this whole thing hasn't just been met with radio silence from USCIS.

Happy for you mate on the CDL part, yay!! Beer on my tab :P.

I sent my card back on May 18, 2018, but I had biometrics  on May 4, 2018 - what happens to that?  Deep inside, I am getting a feeling of having to wait a year again.  By the way, couldn't shake this thought off --  Has anyone sued USCIS?  Myaan!! too much is too much .

I didn't go to the biometrics for my I-90 in the hopes that they would close it out, but instead they literally just scheduled me for another appointment. I thought no-shows were meant to result in a dead petition. I'm going to write to Potomac and tell them to stop.

    Thanks for sharing!

Have you received an answer from the e-mail in the recall letter? I haven't heard anything from none (no answer from receiving my card, no answer from the recall e-mail... ) I'm submitting a service inquiry because this is being too long. I don't think they are ready for the recall they just started..

Nope, nothing back from the recall email.

  16. My card has been at CSC for a month (minus 4 days) and all I've heard is that they're going to see if I qualify for an expedite. Which I do, because they fudged up and there's a recall. If I don't get it back in the next couple of weeks then I'm filing another service request to inform them of their own recall and 15/20/whatever amount of days turnaround time that has been promised.

Has anyone received a letter from the USCIS asking you to return your Greencard due to errors?

Well I did, and they sent me a pre-paid envelope to send it back.

At least they provide an email address to send a query, and to my surprise they responded within

12 hours. Apparently,  8547 cards need to be returned.

    What a mess.

I emailed them about two days ago stating I had already returned my card to CSC but they never responded to me.

I actually just created a SR online for 'Card not received' and noted the details in the comments. It looks as though they are aiming to have replacement cards for the recall out within 3 weeks - I definitely felt like my case would be overlooked, given that I returned the card to a CA address provided weeks ago - So I'm hoping that the SR will prompt someone to go into my file, and make sure that if it's not currently being processed as part of the recall, that they will transfer it, so that it does. Fingers crossed!

Can you withdraw your i-90 online? I know you can if it's an online application - Did you do paper? I don't remember your specific case.

I filed it online but there's no way to withdraw it online. I have to send a letter to Potomac and tell them to kill it.

There was someone from years ago who had to send their card to the attention of WS13386 who got their card back after just over a month, so maybe we will too. Guess the director has more on their desk than our cards :P

  19. 2 hours ago, BFP XX said:

I received a generic response to my email to the 'Eastern Forms Center" this morning. It basically said the same thing as the letter I received in the mail - Nothing specifically acknowledging my email or my circumstances. I'm thinking that I might submit a new SR, asking them to verify that they do understand that my typo error is a part of the recall, and that my replacement card will be resolved in the same timeframe. I'm concerned that as I've already returned my card to the CA address that they gave me weeks ago, that my file is once again sat in limbo, and could take another year to get to 🙄 I really hope not.

I haven't had a response from the Eastern Forms Center yet. I'm thinking I will send a letter to Potomac and tell them to kill the I-90. Surprised it's not dead already, I didn't go to the biometrics and that's supposed to automatically abandon the case.
