I agree! bdrew is our patient and unsung hero of the September thread!! You've been such a huge help to so many of us, not only with information and the spreadsheet, but also with your unwavering support!
And to top it all off, you're a fellow gooner!
I'll add Blueberry to the thank yous as well bc she's been such an advocate for us and is so quick and helpful with the information she provides.
Keep up the great work ladies, you make everyone's lives a little easier!

We didn't get ours notarized either, but one of our fellow Sept sisters got a ridiculous laundry list of an RFE and the family/friend statements have to be notarized.
Thank you so much! We all do great keeping each other well informed and in good spirits!! :-)
If you're on facebook, feel free to join the Sept I-130 group (it's in my signature)!
My face is as red as my Arsenal shirt now! LOL Thank you so much!

Alrighty people, I've updated the spreadsheet AND I updated the handy dandy form that hardly anyone uses lol
Going forward, if you're not on the spreadsheet and you want to be added to the spreadsheet, use the form on the sheet. The sheet can be found in my signature :-)
Second, if your VJ timeline is not updated or created, I will not add you to the spreadsheet until that is complete. This September spreadsheet does not substitute the VJ one (also, it's very helpful to other members if they can see what process you're going through). Also, if you plan to continue your progress on this site, if your timeline is not updated, Saylin will not add you to the NVC spreadsheet, either.
My reasons for this are because you aren't all coming back to share your news of RFE or approval, so I'm combing through everyone's profile to get the updates (many of you on the sheet don't have timelines updated/created, so I can't do anything). Thank you!

You are so right, it takes a special kind of strength and love to endure this process. I have no words about your husband missing the birth of his child, it makes me want to cry, honestly. No man should miss that special moment! We're all going to reach the finish line and we're all going to celebrate and enjoy our families for the rest of our lives!

k.dlg reacted to Lilly Jathol in Dont Give Up Hope
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to give words of encouragement to couples out there who are struggling through this process.
I got married in February 2011 and started the CR1 process in March 2011. Now, 3 years later, almost to the day, Visa has been issued!!!!!!!
Our case went through with normal timing but visa was denied at interview in Jan 2012, got put in AP for 4 months, then sent back to USCIS for almost a year. It got reaffirmed and I attended the second interview with my husband on March 11, 2014. Out case status was AP with the date changing daily after that and on Tuesday my husband got called back to the Embassy but we didnt know why. Turns out they had some technical difficulties with their fingerprint machine the day he got biometrics done. They took his fingerprints again and he was given a yellow paper that said "Congratulations, your visa has been issued" and he was told that he could probably pick it up on Monday or Tuesday of next week. Today status on CEAC website changed to 'Issued'
I believe that everything happens for a reason and I know that if he would have been issued a visa the first time around, I would have never had a good relationship with my in-laws because they did not approve of our marriage. Now I have not only met them but stay in their home when I come to India and have a good relationship with them.
Me and my honey will be traveling to the US together very soon.
Thank you very much to everyone on visa journey and especially to Deep2009 who helped me put my packet together when I got my NOIR.
"Everything will be alright in the end. If everything is not alright, it is not yet the end"
Quote from the movie "The best exotic marigold hotel"

I know exactly how you feel.. I am in the same situation as you...It's so frustrating especially I've seen October filers getting approved from CSC recently. I really think USCIS should work on files according to their priority dates...
My husband used to try to calm me down about this whole long wait, but now he is even so stressed out and frustrated...
I hope we both will get approved soon... Let's cross our fingers and pray for a miracle to happen to us next week...

***One post (along with a duplicate post) removed for continuing to inject drama and throw the thread off the rails after numerous posts by other members to cease and desist and get back on track were ignored. Any additional posts of that nature will result in a thread ban for the poster.***
~~~In the entire time I've been on VJ, I've never seen such drama or derailment on these NVC monthly filers threads nor the need for mod action. I would hate for that to start now.~~~
You sound very ungrateful. You need to understand that Saylin is not obligated to answer every single question posted in this thread. But, she answer most of them because she's the kind of woman who likes to help people. The other questions are already answered either on the wiki guide that she created for us or somewhere in other posts. Like everyone else in here, go read the posts if you have the time so you can get your questions cleared. Now, if you're not happy with the way she answers, then go ahead and hire a lawyer to deal with your process, that way you're not coming here to get people offended by your comments. We are a community, we help each others and we don't want mean people coming to make us post about stuff like this.
k.dlg reacted to CarlosAndSveta in 2013 Taxes Question
A nonresident alien who must file a U.S. tax return is only taxed on U.S. sourced income. So in your case if your spouse is required to file a U.S. tax return then the retirement pension would not be included on the U.S. tax return.
If you want to file a joint return with your nonresident alien spouse then you and your spouse must include in your tax return a statement that says you want your nonresident alien spouse to be treated as a resident alien for tax purposes. If you make this election then your nonresident alien spouse must include his/her worldwide income on the tax return. This means that the retirement pension must be included on your joint tax return. The retirement pension is not considered as earned income for purposes of the Foreign Income Exclusion.
If you want to file the joint return with your spouse then you must include the resident alien election for your return to be valid. The law is very clear that a person who is a nonresident alien during any part of the tax year is not permitted to join in filing a joint return without this election.
Yes they will send you an email - but it will be a week or so after your case completes. I called last Friday and they informed me over the phone that it was complete - I got the email this morning.
I have no words.....in ALL 280 the pages I have read on the thread, all I have seen is patience way beyond what I could manage. Also, no other complaints like this - if you are not getting the answers you want, then find them elsewhere. We all work together to help each other but at the end of the day, we all have to figure the process out for ourselves and our unique situations. I am insanely grateful for each and every person who has helped me along the way, whether it was answering a question I had, or that someone else asked a question and I benefited from the answers others gave.
If you do not like the way a member is responding to your question, then don't post on the board. No one forced you to ask questions on this thread Please don't take your frustration out on the people who want to help you.
Nothing but love for you Saylin - you are saint and a billion times more patient than I could be. That goes for dwheels and everyone else who takes the time to share thier knowledge and experience. THANK YOU
