  1. bpierce: Thanks, and we wish you good luck with your struggles, too! What kind of updates do you receive from them, emails? We get nothing unless we send an online inquiry and get a canned response back. When I inquired in September, the administrative processing had not been updated since my previous inquiry in May.

    Darnell: Thanks for the advice!

Pitaya and Ryan H: Thanks for helping me get everything in the right place.

No, Only when we send inquiry's, then we get the Standard reply..to wait! By up-dates , I mean on the ceac web site.

    good luck.

Did not ask questions about my case , was only responding to the question asked!!!

  2. we have been waiting for over 17 Months in A.P. For the same reason. We have emailed many, many times in the pass and also got Senator's office to contact them, but still the same response..to wait. We do receive an up-date every Month but still no visa!

    Good Luck!

  3. Hello,

This is my first post, and I am quite concerned over what I have read.

I have reached the final portion of preparing my K1 documents in order to get a visa for my finance living in China. However, she is a member of the communist party, and I have read that this bars her from getting the visa. She received a student visa for America in the past without any problems, but of course this is a non-immigrant visa, so maybe its different? Being a part of the party amounts to sending in about $20 a year to them, and nothing more, but it seems like this affiliation may make things impossible (guess McCarthy is alive and well). Now I am freaking out and need some current advice.

Is it true that this will destroy all of my plans? If she formally resigns now, will that even help? What do I do now?

I would really appreciate some help on this, than

We have been in A.P. for over 16 Months because of past C.C.P. Membership and we are still waiting on my Wife's Visa Approval!!!

  4. Barring unforeseen circumstances, B2 visas are normally printed the same day...the return of passports with visas in them could take some number of days, depending on the reliability of local courier and/or mail service.

Computer/system glitches might delay printing by a day or two unless there was some system-wide shutdown....

consulates prefer to print approved visas as soon as possible in order to better manage the efficiency of the entire process.

My Wife's Visa Application has been in A.P. for over 16 Months due to background check/name clearance(so I am to assume), Due to past C.C.P

Do you have any Idea why it is taking so long for the Embassy to complete her Application?

    Thanks,

  5. 221g since September 5,2014 finally faxed senator today! 2 years of marriage and numerous trips to Ghana and still waiting! Is ridiculous

I AGREE, I contacted my Senator's Office last week to inquire about our case too.2 Years of Marriage, 3 trips since the Marriage,4 before also a Denied K-1 . I also was there with her for the Interview and we are still in A.P. for over 1 Year with only up-dates here and there but no Decision!

  6. Think of it this way: If you're not on the premises and the visa is refused, you'll spend one hell of a lot more money (and time, and heartache) trying to extricate yourselves from the unholy mess.*

    *speaking from experience

The petitioner's presence on the consular premises adds credibility that can't be duplicated. The best weapon that the beneficiary has, to prove a bona fide relationship, is the petitioner's U.S. passport, to hand to the consul.

I agree 100%.They asked my Wife where I was and she told them ..outside waiting on me. There is a good chance that they will ask where you are and it does make a Difference.

  7. Cr1 denied based on outdated affadavid of support.so this what the the email from embassy was told to me and my senator, when filing our forms where sent to nvc before my mother passing last Aug.she was on the form.after letting nvc know this we already had appt.for interview.my husband was told to take an updated form to interview but co wouldn't take it. She said case being sent back to USCIS

The Affidavit of Support does not expire(maybe update some info),are you sure this is the reason for denial?N.V.C. has not received it because the Embassy has not returned it yet..this is my guess.

  8. Hi bpierce sad to hear that, so the main reason why they gave 221g is that they need more evidence/proof about your relationship?

Yes and also had to fill out a Questionnaire about her past membership in the Chinese Communist Party so the Embassy could send that to Washington D.C. for a Name Clearance. We are stilling waiting for a Decision from the Embassy. I have since traveled back to China for a visit to accompany my Wife for our 2 Year Anniversary. We Pray we hear something soon...this is Crazy!!

  9. I have my fiance in AP for 10 months now. Like others here, the CO said congratulations and that the paperwork was in order but that they'll need to do additional review on the case. They kept the passport, said she'll be cleared in 2-3 months and issued a bluish green 221g form and here we are 10 months later.

Meanwhile, we've requested the passport back this January for traveling purpose. I am surprised to see so many people stuck in AP for such long periods.

I hope every one gets cleared so that they can start their lives.

I want to ask someone who's been tracking 221g as what is the possibility of visa clearance. Is islamabad embassy taking an year or more to get AP cases cleared. Has anyone been able to figure out the pattern yet?

    Best

Today marks 1 Year in A.P. for us. We Submitted the additional Evidence of our Relationship and answered the Questionnaire about my Wife's past C.C.P. Membership, May of last year and to this day she is still in A.P.

    AHHHH!!
