Generally you'll sit on hold anywhere from 20-45 minutes. You can call every day if you want, as it's your time you'll be spending on hold, but it's extremely unlikely you'll receive a case number prior to that 3-4 week mark you mention. In that sense my personal opinion is that it's not a productive use of time. Yes, they do maintain a record of each call you make, and no, your persistence won't make them work faster. I would advise calling once a week for 2-3 weeks, then once a day thereafter until you receive your number. It's an individual choice though and people around here all go about it differently. You'll receive an email to notify you when your interview is scheduled. Generally they're received the same day scheduling occurs, or within 24 hours. I got my notice by email and didn't have to call. I suggest you keep an eye on the monthly interview thread. If you don't get case complete just before they start scheduling, you may have some time to wait before getting news, and there's no point calling regularly when scheduling isn't occurring. If you're watching the interview thread you'll know when people start getting news, and therefore when you can start getting ready to receive some yourself

You should be fine . I know there's loads of people who haven't filed for tax years due to many reasons.. Hopefully those who have case completes (are still around) and be able to tell you it wasn't a problem for them..

Great thank you both! My accountant only asked me to send W2 with the tax return to the IRS and nothing else. I received 2 1099s and one 1099-INT. I will send all 3 of them to NVC just to be on the safe side as they were used to get to the TOTAL INCOME number on 1040.

Sometimes I think about writing one, but then I look here and think some people (those who need it most) wouldn't even read it

I can understand if you have a genuine question! But, if you made it through the I-130, I'm pretty sure you can make it through the NVC process. This is not to discourage anyone from asking genuine questions, especially since there are complicated cases and confusion sometimes! But looking through the profiles, you clearly see they asked the same questions repeatedly on 5 different threads, and excessively after answers have been given! Maybe I should just start asking silly questions, even though NVC has everything and I'm just waiting for checklists, or a case complete...!

I got approved at the LDN embassy yesterday! I just wanted to drop by and say thanks so much for all your help, particularly at NVC stage. I can't believe how stressed I made myself over the process when in actual fact it turned out to be pretty straight forward.
I'll stick around and try to help others.

IV fee paid and packet sent yesterday and DS-260 available and submitted today! Feels good to be DONE with NVC. Now we await our case complete and interview date.

My case was completed today as NVC received my package on April 29. #fckyeah

You can apply for the ACA but you are NOT eligible for Medicaid only reduced premiums.

I called at 1140 EST thinking there's no way I'll get through before they drop all calls, but at 1208 (gosh I forget who she was now ), the rep answered!! And they 'FOUND' my police certificate upon review by the supervisor, probably that 'piece of mail still listed in the mailroom' - which I assume fell off the package when they opened it to scan the barcoded sheet...
I asked her if they could possibly still be doing June interviews and she wasn't sure, but that's better than a definite 'NO'
Anyways, I'm so happy!! My heart is pounding, and I wish this feeling very soon for each of you!!!
