  1. Actually I think it will makes things easy flying through Guam, they will do Immigration's (POE) in Guam, don't have to deal with luggage in Guam, then at their next U.S. stop they will collect their luggage and pass through customs and recheck their luggage if they have another connecting flight..

Flying into Minnasnowda in November.... she has my sympathies ... laughing.gif

OK Hank, Besides the sympathy for the snow, The only issue a K1 from Philippines traveling through Guam is if the flight stays on course to USA and no other countries? I thought it was NOT recommended to give POE K1 to Guam officials? The United flight course is Manila- Guam-Honolulu- Chicago-MSP. Hank, I hate to question you but are you sure it's ok to use Guam as POE as long as we are flying to Honolulu next and on to Chicago?

    Thanks buddy!

PS. Kids love the pics of my Ski-doo MXZ 550 and cant wait to go for a ride in the snow :-) The Fiance/Wife, Not so much. LOL

  2. Hello,

I had thought United Airlines had a good flight for early to mid January 2014 for my Fiance and two young kids ages 7-9 that went through Tokyo back in August but now when I check the prices have doubled with this path. United still has flights through Guam but I thought I had read USA entry can have issues with K1 if they fly through Guam first. Is this true?

I'm trying to make her POE as easy as possible since kids are with and to leave enough time to process and catch next flights. The final destination is Minneapolis, MN (MSP) any other flight ideas or airlines? She is starting from Zamboanga but I'm prety sure no International flight will depart from Zambo so Manila will be the departure City.

She will fly to Manila with the kids and her Brother to help in early November for Medical, CFO, and Embassy interview and stay for 12 days. Medical will be 8 days before embassy interview and plans for a CFO in between. I hope and pray all can be done but I do know we need to make time in Manila on her departure to get the CFO stickers and make extra time for this.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Brad

  3. since we have digressed to tampo.....I'd like to get some opinions from the foreign fiancées/husbands

And don't wimp out with your opinion just cause your woman is looking over your shoulder...haha

While my girl is not here yet...I don't have much real experience with this yet

    I have read about it

    Personally...it sounds extremely childish

She doesn't like something you have done....so she makes a face...pouts...and gives you the silent treatment,,,haha

Great way to handle a loving relationship....and ohhh what great communication

When we don't like something our spouse does...or they accidentally hurt our feelings.....the loving thing to do is talk...speak from the heart

It does not have to done immediately.......sometimes it is better to wait....

But.......the silent treatment (tampo) is nothing more than passive aggressive behavior

    It's "payback"

Boohoo....whoa is me...you hurt me...now u will pay for it until I am good and ready

Now some Filipinas will want to rationalize this behavior by saying....."tampo is goooood....it is better than lashing out...and having an argument...it gives time to cool down"---POPPYCOCK...!

That's a true statement....but neither is the preferred choice of 2 people who love each other

Tampo is NOT about cooling down....its about making SURE he knows she's pissed

The 5 most important words in a relationship are:::

    YOU ARE RIGHT, I'M SORRY

Give someone the chance to do that.......communicate-----there is no room in a loving friendship and relationship for childishness

    Follow the Bible's timeless advice....

Eph. 4:26--let the sun not set with you in a provoked state.....

Absolutely no one asked you for you opinion on Tampo!!!

  4. """""But what does that have to do with going to the bathroom?""""

Absolutely nothing,,,,,but my friend above said the following:

I wonder how many other things I am missing like that???

We are multitasking here...try and keep up...

    haha...

Hank...if your gal pulls a tampo stunt.....chill the water on her---yeeeehawwww

    bgamb,

No disrespect but learn how to read posts as most posters stated a french water bath so to clean the behind. I said I have a shower with a handle with a spray. DAHH. Yes not installed in a toilet but please read before commenting and look at the whole picture. If you can't figure that out then you probably don't shower enough to know the difference.

  5. I have installed European shower with hand held spray because I like them but if She and kids think our showers are poopy butt cleaners, Well, my morning showers will be with water slippers to avoid any chunks left behind. LOL

PS. I never heard a Pinay complain about a dishwasher, A house with multiple rooms, and a garage just for our cars. Hahaha

  6. OK, I'm well aware of Tampo which basically translates to a Pinay fit. But what does that have to do with going to the bathroom? My Fiance and her two young boys did just fine at a Beautiful Radisson Suite in Cebu with normal western toilet and toilet paper. Yes the young boys Pee'd all over the floor but what young boy doesn't? LOL. I have no worries about this. My Fiance and Kids are from Zamboanga so is this a regional thing?

  7. After calling for three weeks to the NVC and being told it could take 8 weeks we received our MNL #. Like Hank says, it can take upwards of a month to get your MNL#. Best time to call is 7:05am East Coast Time, one ring and your in. If your answer is nothing then give it another 24 hours and call again.

Best advise is relax and know the process is working but taking a little more time.

    Good Luck to all

I'm calling every work day now at &;30 AM ECT and have very short wait if any. Still no MNL# but an easy way to start my day :-)

  8. Zamboanga Under siege from MNLF since Monday. The MNLF has taken over 5 buranguy and raised their flag and have many hostages they are using as human shields. Each night they are burning down houses in these buranguy and Fire Dept can't respond as MNLF snipers threaten to kill them. I hope the Government will send in a large military presence to put an end to this as no one living close by the affected areas can go to work and if they do they risk their own life. Many businesses tried opening and my Fiance worked half day today until Police chased a group of 8 MNLF dressed in civilian clothing try to go into new areas and take over. Gunfire across the street from her work as her and 3 other Women ran to lock the doors and hid in the building until safe to go out and home. The Boss said after today they will not attempt to open the business until things are truly better but the City Mayor refuses to call this a City emergency even though the Zamboanga Airport has been shut down since Monday too. My Fiance House is filled with Her Brother and Wife, Here Sister with 3 young kids including a new born and my Fiance's two young boys. Her Sisters staying with her has a house is in one of the buranguy taken over but her Husband is a police officer and continually calls to give them updates on what the situation is at current state. They remained locked and inside the house until this gets resolved. I feel so helpless but grateful I can speak with her everyday as I had wifi installed in the house months ago. I pray for all of their safety and just hope this is resolved soon.

PS. We are waiting for MNL# and this invasion affects us in that way as I can't arrange travel for her to Manila. She is hopeful that the airport will open soon and we can continue on our Visa for her and kids. If not then I have said I will try to get her and kids bussed up to Dipolog where it is safe but of course she doesn't want to leave her Brother and Sister either.

    Prayers please.

  9. So maybe I am being a little paranoid but here goes. I am an American citizen that submitted a I-129F for my Ethiopian fiancé. Received my NOA1 April 26. Processing times for the CSC is saying 5 months, case is still showing in initial review. 5 months is coming up soon. Is my December wedding unrealistic?

An old saying. Don't put the cart before the horse. In God's time and pray it all works out not your time.

  10. A suggestion: Review the instructions for the I-134 at http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-134instr.pdf

At some places they talk about "bank statements," but the instructions are specific for accounts:

See where it says that for each account:

A statement by a bank officer....

    ....date account opened

    ....deposits over past year

    ....current balance

Such a letter/statement can be hard to get on short notice.

Also I've heard over and over BEWARE of USPS and FedEx if you're on a tight schedule. Though DHL is far, far more expensive, from what I have heard is that they are the only shipper who can get things there reliably in three working days. Better to pay $100 (2lbs) or $85 (1lb) and have it arrive, then pay much less....and have it arrive a week to late. From my experience USPS simply...in a word---sucks at reliability. Of course if you have a few weeks the less expensive USPS or FedEx makes sense.

I have the same bank for over 13 years and they provided the documentation the I-134 required in a nice format.

As far as USPS international shipping with guarantee??? We have been down that road with my Fiance and the kids Christmas gifts sent in early November. Package was said to be scanned and located in Zamboanga in 6 days which is what I paid for but Zamboanga kept saying its not there. for almost two months I persisted to find how this is just missing whaen it was scanned at Zamboanga. I had insisted USPS keep calling Manila who kept saying its in Zamboanga who kept saying it's not there. After sending emails to Manila Philpost and asking how the tracking could be wrong or off as all packages have a bar code and someone has it. I Then called Manila Philpost multiple times and stated the same. The box with Christmas gift mysteriously was found a few days later and mt Fiance was able to pick up one day after Christmas, We were extremely fortunate but I will never go USPS again as even my cards and letters never arrive. DHL will be worth the money! Thanks for the advice.

  11. Thanks for all the advise,

Fed-ex or DHL I will choose one that can deliver my financial paper safe. Thanks for the advise of what may be needed but I'm going to play on caution side and send Fed Tax-W2 with my Pension and stock market value along with other savings as I'm applying for my Fiance and her two young kids. I want no question that I can provide.

    Thanks again.

OOps! I see I responded to another VJ post. Sorry but I feel good about my action to respond.

    Good luck to you too.
