  1. Sorry you are having to go through this. But as Gimygirl mentioned, express mail the supporting documents to her ASAP. You should be able to find a service that will deliver the documents within 3 days. RELAX .... more so than ever you need to be of strong mind and good health.

I will keep you in my positive thoughts.

  2. I just posted this question on another forum. Please offer your feedback. Thanks

The city we live in is on the boarder of two states. In less than 10 minutes we can be in a state other than where we live. My situation: The nearest approved Doctor is 20 minutes from where we live. However, when we research the approved doctors for the stae we live in, the nearest doctor is an hour away. Does it matter where the doctor is located? Does it have to be a doctor in the state we live in?

    Thanks for your help

  4. I'm sorry. I read your timeline and see that you have been on this journey a long time. I don't know what to say or advise. However, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. (F)

  5. Thanks for your help! My fiance's relatives are financially able to make the trip to the USA. However, according to one of my fiance's family members, the embassy would like to see proof that the person you are going to visit can indeed financially take care of you during your stay. Specifically I was advise to send a copy of my tax returns from this past year. Personally that did not make any sense to me (but I could be wrong). However, as mentioned by Anastasia, sending a notarized letter that states "I promise I will take care of all the financial and medical needs of these visitors and won't encourage them to overstay their visa") is something I feel comfortable in doing.

  6. I posted this in another forum. Hopefully I can get some advice from you guys as well.

My fiance arrived to the USA in January. Two weeks later he applied for a SS#. The reason we filed so quickly for the SS# is because we were told that in order to get a marriage license we both need a SS# and a photo ID. However, if we married without him having his SS# he would have to sign an Affidavit stating that 1) he does not have a SS# and 2) he is not elgible to receive one. Obviously #2 does not apply to him since he arrived on a K1 Visa. Anyway, exactly one month after applying he went back to the local office and was told that they just received his information today and should be receiving a card in two weeks. This coming Wed. will be two weeks. Is it normally this long?

The reason I am pushing the SS# is so that we can move on with the remainder of the process. Without a SS# he can't get a Drivers License, be able to apply for papers to work (his POE did not issue temporary work papers), nor apply for enrollment in the community college. So many things are tied into this one #.

This whole process is frustrating. Are we on the right track?
