  1. Hello! Hope your weekend is going well.

Whidbey - Guess What?!?!? Tonight I purchased a quart of goat milk. How was it? Ummm ... let's say that my efforts to try to eat better is not exactly going to happen at this moment.:no: But .. I tried. ;)

Did you get it at the store or fresh from a farm? The way I got back used to it after not having it for 10 years was to drink it with NesQuik.

I got it from the grocery store. I may try it with NesQuik. For me it left a foul odor in my mouth. I had to immediatley go to the bathroom and brush my teeth again. I noticed you stated that you stopped drinking it for 10 years. Why was that?

Farm fresh is SO much better than the store bought!!!! I moved away from the farm for 10 years so didn't have access to fresh milk.

The problem with store milk is the pasteurization and homogonization processes. They kill a lot of the good things in the milk and I think it really messes with the taste too. I understand for safety reasons they have to do this for mass market, but if you find a farm go check it out and see the process they use for their milk. The biggest things are cleaning the milk by running it through a filter (like a coffe filter) into GLASS jars and QUICKLY into the refrigerator. Other factors are check to see that the males aren't kept with the milking does or even near them as the wonderful male smell is VERY potent and can effect the taste.

Hopefully I will once again gather the courage to try it again. This time, fresh from the farm.

  2. Just got in and checked the mail. My husband received the following:

Congratulations! Your request for the removal of the conditional basis of your permanent resident status has been approved. You are deemed to be a Lawful Permanent Resident of the Unionted States ....

I was anticipating a RFE. After we submitted our information, I read that sending the 1st page of your yearly tax forms were not acceptable. Either send in everything, or the faxed copy from the IRS. Well, I guess they accepted ours. :)

Whew! We are finished for approximately 10 years, unless he decides to file for Citizenship.

    Bye!

My Rieki Instructer has goats on her farm She has given me some chèvre. I have not tried it yet. I plan on buying some Milk from her for my husband. I stick with the skim. I did hear on an Operah that Goats milk was extreemly good for you.

Mrs. J. if you (or anyone else) tries it, let me know what you think.

  4. My husband just got admitted to grad school :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Congratulations to him. Also, Congratulations to his Queen (aka ZeeBee) that stood by his side along the way. When you see a successful man, not to far away is the woman who helped keep things together.

  5. Charles - How is fatherhood?

pretty good so far, nessa's doing all the diaper changes :)

Huh?!??!?!? This does not sound fair.

    she's off work, i'm not.

UMMMM..... you're kidding right??? She is NOT off of work, she's a mom therefore has the the toughest and most important job of all. You at least get break going to a paying job.

and i'm still mowing the yard, taking out the trash, doing the dishes, emptying the cat box....... :P

    Hmmm ....

Mowing the yard - Once a week

Taking out the trash - Once a day

Doing the dishes - Zero times a day. The dishwasher takes care of that.:angry:

Changing Diapers - Countless times, throughout the day.

  6. Hello Everyone!

    Charles - How is fatherhood?

Z - Congratulations on the new addition to the family

Mrs. J - Let the countdown continue. :D

Whidbey - Congratulations on your new addition as well. What does your SO think about goats? For my husband, it's a meal. BTW - I like the name Rainbow. It has a 'ring' to it.

  7. Stacey,

As the song goes ... the first cut is the deepest. On the other hand, (IMO) a back and forth cut hurts the most. Therefore, I suggest that you make a clean cut and be done with it. With all due respect (and I say this out of love and concern) ... you can't make someone say nice things about you. Either a person will or they will not, no matter how you treat them. So don't worry about things you cannot change. Focus on #1, hurry up and get out of this marriage, and enjoy your life.

    Boaz
