  1. Hi Radical!

Sorry for your frustrations. In my household, my husband does 90% of the cooking. Mainly for two reasons: 1) he is a V-E-R-Y picky eater and 2) he often is home before me. For the few occasions that I do arrive home first, we simply eat left overs. Personally, I am not a big fan of cooking. On the otherhand, it can sometimes be frustrating when I do take the time to cook only to have my husband either not eat the food, eat the food, yet add something he's already cooked to the meal, or pull out left overs that he has cooked from the night prior. But oh well ... we are soon approaching 4 years of marriage, so at this point it suits me just fine.

Back to your situation - may I suggest that you and your husband try the 'whoever gets home first, should cook' plan. Do you think he would be willing to try this? Does he even know how to cook? Also, do you guys have any children? The reason for my question regarding children, is that perhaps he can help out more with the children while you cook. That way you won't become so overwhelmed.

One more thing ... for the few times that I do make it a point of cooking, it's during the school semester in which he's working and going to school. During this period, we both are in the kitchen on the weekends, preparing several different dishes so that during the week, it's just a matter of heating up the food.

As for cooking African dishes .... um .... I will pass on offering any such advice. Cooking is not my area of expertise. For some odd reason, when I have tried to cook an African dish (via a receipe from the internet) my husband frowns on the fact that I went to the internet to learn how to cook a meal. He would rather me ask him. But oh well ... suits me just fine.

I bid you all the best.

  2. I havent visited since 1985. We met in Dubai. Im definitely going to Nigeria next month to see him. Whats so funny is that my dad is in Nigeria as we speak. I dont know what to do. Im in the state of confusion and shock. All I want is a second interview. Do you think that they will give me? Who is my representative/senator that can help me? Oh my God this is a nightmare. I cant believe this is happening to me. Why me

I am so sorry about your news. I advise you to contact your Senator ASAP. Also to my understanding, part of the requirements for the Fiance Visa is that you must have seen each other at least once during the past 2 years. You mentioned that you have not visited since 1985. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but are you saying that you have not seen your Fiance since 1985?!?!?

Hold your head up, and all the best!

  3. Hello?!?!?!?! Where is everyone?!:unsure::unsure:

Oh well ... hope everyone is doing well. Things are going well for me. My husband is in the process of filing for citizenship, hopefully he will be finished with school within the next year, AND ..... we are entering month six of pregnancy!!!! Yep ... we will become first time parents in a few months. After almost 4 years of marriage, many mountains and valleys .... God is STILL blessing.

For those whose journey is just beginning ... be encouraged and put on your running shoes, you will need it for every mile to come. For those of you still on the journey .... be encouraged. For those whose journey may have ended .... TRUST GOD! His will is always perfect.

  4. Hi Everyone!

Page 10 contains a comment stating, "Do not complete Parts 13 and 14 until a USCIS Officer instructs you to do so." Question: Does this mean that my husband should not print and sign his name at the very bottom of the application when he mails it in? Or should he leave that part blank and wait until his interview?

    Thanks

    Boaz

  5. Hello Everyone!

I agree with all of the feedback given. Both pros and cons. On the flip side, please allow me to express the following (out of love) .... Be careful about habits you start prior to your SO arrival. Too often individuals send SO money, the SO arrives here in the USA, and does not fully understand the sacrifices you were making to send them money. With that being said, it adds to the 'adjustment factor' in that you (USC) now expect/hope your SO will help with household expenses, but you've already gotten them use to receiving money from you. For some, the sacrifices made prior to a SO's arrival, appears to not be appreciated. I can't say for sure in all cases. Not everyone is the same. Just be careful.

    Sorry for the typo.

  7. As my fiancee's interview date approaches, I was looking at the embassy reviews and I see that most of the CO questions asked when was the last time that the petitioner went to Nigeria. Well the last time that I went to Nigeria was 1985 when I was 2 years old. We havent been since because my parents are not finished with the land. But the last time that I saw my fiancee was April 12, 2009 in Dubai. Will that be a problem?

    Hello Nwanyioma,

While I don't know much specifically about Nigeria's embassy, I do know that as long as you and your financee have seen each other at least once within the past two years you should be fine.

    All the best.

  8. Thanks my sub friends.

    Prayer does so much things.

Woke up at 4 and made it to the gym today. I joind a new gym about a week and half ago. Everyday I said i would wake up and go to the gym. Not once did I ask God for help and not once did I get up and go. OK so last night I prayed for God devine intervention so that i would get up and go to the gym. So today it happend. YOu can't do it alone. With God you can do anything.

    I feel amazing today.

Awesome!!!!!!! I will be sure to give you a call before the week is over. I too have a praise report. :) Continue to hold steadfast, and as always KEEP your positive attitude.

  9. Hi Everyohe! Hope all is well.

Preserverance - why don't you take some photos now, go to Walmart and print them out? I don't know that there is a majic number as to how many photos to send. However, I would be sure to send some. Bid you well.

You know what?!?! I'm now reminded that I've yet to make it known that my husband received his 10 year Green Card a few weeks ago.:dance::dance: Guess I need to head over to the ROC forum and give an update.

Mrs. J - how was the test?
