  1. Thanks for the feedback.

Please allow me to repeat what I said earlier, "I am NOT trying to judge."

In our case, the individual that approached us has lived in the USA their entire life. They have financial issues (which I can understand, and relate to), is not a college student, nor have they worked outside the USA. In saying all of this, I know firsthand what it's like to love someone who lives out of the country. BUT .... knowing how expensive it is to immigrate (legally) to this country; how hard it is to manage on the income one does have; and now want to bring someone here who will have to get themselves established once they arrive, AND seek someone elses help in the form of a Co-Sponsor? Keep in mind ... this person is already struggling to take care of their ownself. To me it's just puzzling. For the most part I am a compassionate person, and I respect differences of opinion. But this matter here is .... puzzling.

  2. My husband and I were recently approached by an individual asking us to Co-Sponsor their Fiance'? Now ... I know first hand how hard things are financially for many people. But for the life of me, I don't understand why someone would seek someone elses help to immigrate their Fiance' to America if they are having trouble taking care of their ownselves. I am NOT trying to judge ... just simply trying to understand. Any thoughts?

  3. No real plans for the 4th yet. I might do a midnight 5k. Otherwise I plan to grab some BBQ (purchased, too lazy to grill!) and watch the fireworks. Hubby is in NYC this weekend, visiting friends and working on a business deal. Its his first time in NYC, I can't wait to see all his pics.

Oh, as much as I complain about Seattle. I do like it (more often than not). The other day I referred to Seattle as "my hometown" :o I was shocked to hear those words come out of my mouth. But whatcha gonna do?

A midnight 5k?!?!? You GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!:thumbs::dance: Fourth of July 2008, my husband and I were participating in the Peachtree City Race in Atlanta, GA. I hope your weather is not as hot as it was in ATL.

  4. I am so use to being on the road, that it feels kind of weird being in the office today. It's so quiet!

Anyway - does anyone have anything planned for the 4th? Is their anyone here whose SO will be celebrating the 4th of July for the first time in the USA?

Mrs. J ....!?!?!? Where are you??!? Wake up!

We go to our annualy Celebrate America festival sponsored by the church I go to. It's a small festival with fireworks. It's always held on July 3rd. This year since my youngest child is away with grandma I will be helping out whereever I can.

Tomorrow night (July 3rd) we will be going to see a fire work display presented by the city we live in. My parents will be coming into town, so I guess we will grill out. When the grill is hot, my husband loves peeling plantains and placing it on the grill.

  6. who all is still around in this thread? it seems like less than 5.

I'm still around. Sometimes my schedule becomes super busy, while other times I'm free as a bird.

BTW - if I can help anyone with their K-1 Fiance' Visa, AOS, or ROC please feel free to PM me. My PM is set up to send a message to my personal email account. At that time I will be glad to log in, and respond to your message. So although I may not physically visit VJ like I use to, I am still willing and able to help others going through the process.

    Take care!

  7. Hi Everyone!

Hope things are going well for each of you. My husband is taking two classes this summer. While he's studying I keep myself occupied at the office, the gym and various voice-over projects. Hopefully one of these days I will land a huge documentary / commercial gig. :D

    Will check in again soon!

  8. Question for people who have already sent in their I-751:

When showing evidence of joint accounts, etc... did you send in statements for every month for the past 2+ years or just a few statements dating from the date of marriage on? I want to make sure I cover everything, but it seems silly to print out so much paper for each month statements.

    Thanks!

I sent a statement for everything 3 months, spanning the time we've been married. In addition, I did not always send the entire months statement.

Hi. I have a related question. We get our statements on line, I was told since they are printed at home they are not good to send, that I have to take them to the bank and have them put a stamp on every page, to my surprise when I got to the bank they would not stamp the statements, new regulations after the mortgage mess. What they did at Wachovia was, they gave me a letter(Bank Stationary) stating the kind of accounts we have with them and the dates of when they were opened, no account numbers(new regulation), also gave printed reports (on regular paper) for every month I asked for and then they put the stamp on every page. Do you think these "statements" are OK to send. Has this happened to anybody else. Thanks.

Our bank statements were entirely printed at home and didn't had to go to the bank for any 'stamp' and I got approved. You should be fine too.Good luck.

    Ditto.
