I think it's a personal decision. A lot of it has to do with financials but no parent should be forced to stay home either if they feel they'd be a better parent by getting some time away. Not everyone is made to be a full time SAHP, (stay at home parent) but that doesn't make them less than either.

Do what works for you both in terms of your relationship and budget. This is more a conversation for you and your spouse, since no one on here will have the exact same situation as you.

I m very happy to inform u all that I m done with my interview... it went well and finally my visa is approved... happy happy happy... the lady was very kind ..very few questions were asked.. just when u got married? How often does my hubby visit me? Hw did he go to America? What does he do there? They didn't ask for tax return just a copy of birth certificate. They were very nice. I m happy n greatfull to Almighty. Thank u God n Thank u all. Good luck for ur journey.

Hi guys.. just want to share..i know this is an old post but this might be able to help someone else who is filing W-7 form for their spouse,,,
I call the passport office in Jamaica and ask them if they Notorize the Passport biographic page and they said yes,,i just need to take a copy of the biographic page along with the passport and they will do it for me,,no cost,,but when you get there you have to write a letter telling them why you need it,,i sat and wait 20 minute,,and got my Notorize copy..Thank God.

guys let try and have a bit more patience. I just searched through this forum and saw where a lot of times last year we freaked out because no IL and it was just a case of it being late. I hope I'm right.

no interview letters yet?
I know a lot of people are very realistic and hoping for 4 - 5 weeks movement
But I am hoping for 6-7 months movement.
It has happened before and I read in some article that Mr. Oppeheim said that from spring of 2013 if the demands are still low, the PD may move "significantly"
March 20 is when spring begins so i hope there is a big movement

Good luck guys ..I have crossed my fingers... Hopefully soon m gonna get an email from nvc. My husband called nvc n they said my case was very close n they dont require any more documents in if required they will ask in interview letter for d same... but they r still working on 22 October ..I think v will get it in a day or two.God..blees u all.

He cant marry you untill he enter the us and get his green card,,then he can return and marry you and file as permanent resident filing for spouse,,that is taking 2.5 years to process now..but you can go ahead an apply for a tourist visa so you can visit him while you are waiting for your filing to come through,,, do it before you get marry,,you stand a better chance of getting it now

Stop blaming the people working there, the policies are setup by the politicians if we have the wherewithal we should influence them. The guys working there are working to put food on their plate just like you and me. We are all frustrated but no amount of blaming here is going to influence the outcome

good day guys...just to give you an update...
our interview was dec 19, interview went fine but unfortunately, our visa was placed on a pending application. The consul noticed that the address of our Co-sponsor used on his W2's and ITR's are different from the one that he used on his I-864A. The reason is because he moved to a new address that's why we need to send a new form which is the I-864 to be filled up by our co-sponsor and not my petitioner. I was able to send the new form to the embassy via 2GO on Dec 27 due to the holiday season and the embassy received it on Jan 3. From then, we waited for a notice from the embassy if there's still any problem on our papers.
On January 9, our visa arrived. (thank GOD!). Imagine...it could have been only a week after our interview for our visa to be processed if we didn't had a problem on our papers! But it's ok, we finally have our visa! I attended the PDOS the next day without my son because he's only 3 yrs old (and he's exempted) and got our CFO sticker on our passports on the same day. And now we are scheduled to leave on Jan 17! yey!
Guys, just a tip...make sure that you don't have any electronics in your bag when you attend your interview including USB and even COLOR! i brought a coloring book and 8pcs of colors for my son for him not to get bored(since electronics are not allowed) but the guards did not allow me to bring the color inside. So don't forget to check your bags before going to the embassy.
