  1. Can anyone give an opinion about my case? rs

I received a RFE and on the day that I sent it back my status changed to Interview and testing. The package is expected to arrive there only tomorrow.

We received a RFE asking for more financial documents to prove we don't need a co-sponsor. My husband make enough money but he got this new job in July only. Maybe they re review our case and figured this out. Anyway we sent the documents with the same co-sponsor we had for the k1.

My worry is they change the status back to RFE review after they receive the package. After how many days in testing/interview did you receive the interview date?

    Thanks in advance

  2. UPDATE

I did the biometrics last 09th September and my status update for RFE on 11th September.

I received the letter on 14th September and sent out the package today at morning.

For my surprise when I checked my status now it changed to Testing/Interview. They didnt receive the package for sure.

Our RFE was asking for more financial documents or asking for a co-sponsor. The problem is my husband make enough money but he got this new job last July, so his last 3 years tax return was under the poverty guideline. We used co-sponsor for the K1 visa. We just sent the the co-sponsor papers today.

I don't know what expect. They will check and receive my papers and change the status back to RFE received? Or I can expect the interview date soon?

  3. Hello everybody!!

I sent out my package last 16th August and received all NOA1 in the following week.

  4. Hello!

I entered in the country with K1 visa and got married last Tuesday. We will finish the package and send out on Monday, but I have some doubts.

Below is everything that we will submit.

    • Two passport-style photos
    • Form G-325A, Biographic Information
    • Copy of your government issued photo identification (My passport, right?)
    • Copy of your birth certificate ( Do I need to translate it to English?)
    • Copy of passport page with nonimmigrant visa
    • Copy of passport page with admission (entry) or parole stamp
    • Form I-94, Admission/Departure Record (When I entered they said that now is online, I just print my I94 online, should it be a problem?)
    • Evidence of your marriage to the U.S. citizen within 90 days (for K-1s) (Marriage certificate, right?)
    • Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, if applicable (I don't need it since I did my exam in Brazil last May)
    • Form I-864, Affidavit of Support ( Do I need to include my Husband passport or birth certificate copy?)
    • Copies of any other approved application or waiver you have had in relation with your application for K status (Approved Form I-129F, Form I-601, Application for Waiver of Excludability, etc.) ( Copy of Noa1 and Noa2, right?)
    • Applicable filing fees

Do I need to send any evidence as a bona fide relationship? Like pictures, leases, etc?

    Thanks in advance!

  5. Hi everyone,

Over the months, I've seen some lists of questions floating around on VJ that couples can use to prepare for their interview.

I will be attending the in-person interview with my fiancee in her home country next Tuesday. I have flown in for this interview. We have nothing to worry about in terms of not knowing about each other's lives, but we'd like to at least review a good list of questions, if possible.

Might someone be able to provide such a list, both for us as well as any other couple that will be preparing for the interview shortly?

    Thanks so much!

  6. Keep in mind, this is just how the sample form on VJ explains how to fill that question out.

She signed the form and #5 on the I-134 clearly states that "I am willing and able to receive, maintain, and support the person named in item 3. I am ready and willing to deposit a bond, if necessary, to guarantee that such person will not become a public charge during his or her stay in the United States...."

  7. Hi Everyone,

I am using my aunt as a financial sponsor. I am in the clear financially for the K-1, but we are still using her financials, just as a safety valve.

She has several hundred thousands of dollars in assets.

But for #11 on the I-134 form, instead of writing in "N/A (K-1 Visa Process for Permanent Residence), she checked the "I do NOT intend to make a specific contribution to support of the person named in Item 3."

We are abroad now and awaiting our interview in a week.

How screwed are we? For this question if she checked "I DO intend," she would need to give specific details on how that support would take place.

    Help!!

    Thank you.

  8. Full question reads like this:

I do / do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3.

(If you check "intend," indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions. For example, if you intend to furnish room and board, state for
how long and, if money, state the amount in U.S. dollars and whether it is to be given in a lump sum, weekly or monthly, and for how long.

Clearly, I will be doing this for my fiancée coming to the country, but does the financial co-sponsor HAVE TO check this box???

In my case, my aunt has more than enough assets, but we have no plans to take any money from her.

After showing all financial information, if she checks the "do not intend" box, is that a bad thing? What if she provides a disclaimer saying that she does not expect that we will become a public charge?

She's finishing the form today, so I want to make sure I don't flub this up.

    Thanks!

  9. Ok, so if that is the case then, obviously, my cosponsor would leave blank the second part about "spouses" or "children" that are being brought along too....because my fiancée will be coming just by herself.

This is correct? Can we have someone that has had a co-sponsor confirm this info, mainly....

That the Financial Sponsor is sponsoring the foreigner entering the country on the K-1 visa....and NOT the American (me).

    Thanks!
