Hello, as you all know by now, I am a June 2016 filer for both I601/I212 and I am currently still waiting to get adjudicated. Since the process is getting longer and very frustrating each day that goes by, My wife and I decided to play one final trick in the book. That is involve the Senators from her state to follow up on the case for us.

If I'm not mistaken, every state has 2 Senators. You can go to http://www.senate.gov/states/# and find the Senators for your state and go to their website. Either one or both Senators can help with checking with USCIS on delayed cases. So if your case is out of processing time and you have been waiting more than a year like mine, you can get your Senators involved if you haven't already done so. Also let not forget to continue to pray and wait on the Lord🙏🏾.

i601/212 always take longer :( than just i601 alone. yes, get your senator or congressman involved! our congressman helped much more than our senator for our i130, hang in there they are extremely behind

  2. allyinchicago, your right their serves sux and I wan a ask you did they mention to you guys he's going to be under A.P for 9 months or they just said under a.p because idk i hear some ppl get their less than 9 months and some after 9 months also did your husband receive back his passport?

No, they never said he was going to be in AP, because he got denied (for overstaying a past visa), like I said we knew we had to do the waiver so being in AP didn't matter, we waited 4.5 months for the waiver to be approved....but after the interview instead of the ceac saying denied it said in AP. then one day 6 months later the AP was gone.

  3. Generally how long after the I-601 approval have people waited to hear from the consulate? I'm dealing with the Consulate in Montreal, does anyone have experience with this particular consulate? I emailed them last week to notify them of my approval, but they said the haven't received anything yet. They actually requested that I send a scanned copy of my approval notice, which I don't have yet...

Not Montreal, but for us the day after our i601 was approved I emailed the consulate to let them know uscis approved our waiver, they responded right way saying they hadn't received any notification. I got the approval notice in the mail 6 days after we were approved, i scanned it and emailed it to them. the next day the consulate requested my husbands passport, medical, and police report. visa was issued august 12....We had a delay with the courier so we lost like 13 days so he probably could have had the visa issued in 3 weeks after approval

  4. My husband was denied at his interview Dec 2014. In Jan 2015 his CEAC was AP, which I thought it was a mistake but now I don't know do they still do AP if you were denied at your interview? our CEAC finally changed on June 24, 2015 from AP to Refused. July 14, 2015 waiver i-601 approved. August 10, 2015 CEAC went from Denied to Ready. August 12, 2015 CEAC is Issued ! my husband just got his passport back with the immigration packet on Sunday. His POE is 8/25/15 !! one more week !!

  5. my husband is palestinian, he had to request the Israeli police report and they send it directly to the consulate. I would go ahead and request it because it does take awhile to get and you don't want to get to the interview and they are requesting it.

We got our interview assigned a few days after our case complete. was your case just completed at NVC?

They barely asked my husband questions, we have a daughter together and I've brought her to pali 3 times, they took all the plane tickets and israeli entry/exit stamps. They didn't look at any of our pictures. They asked how we met, how long we knew each other, how many times I came to visit, who were the sponsors for the AOS papers..like simple stuff !

  6. I am supposed to bring all original civil documents to my interview but I sent all originals to nvc. I have certified copies of my marriage and birth certificates but I don't have a police report since I sent it to nvc. Do I need to get another one?

No, you don't need another Palestinian Police report, we didn't bring one to the interview since they already had the original from NVC. And of course the Israelis send theirs directly to the consulate. so just have the marriage and birth certificates if they ask for it....They didn't look at any of our photos

  7. I just did our I-601 in Feb and it was just approved this week but it was just for an overstay past a visa. my letter was 7 pages, my husband wrote a 2 page "I'm sorry letter" so our total waiver with all the evidence was 130 pages. My conclusion was a bit longer then yours, make sure you point out that by uscis approving your I-130 the United States has legally and formally recognized this marriage between the 2 of you.

Don't forget to send copies of your student loans !!!

  8. Hi guys, can you tell me what email you are using to email the Jerusalem consulate?

Because when I email the address provided (jerusalemiv@state.gov), this happens:

Do you guys have special permission or something?

I ask because I'm in the same boat. They requested 'missing' documents (also new financial sponsor), which registered mail told us arrived 2 weeks ago. Our status on the AIV website still says "SEND DOCUMENTS", but the ceac status (DS-260) is in AP, updated 2 days after the consulate rec'd our documents. Not sure why they are different and what is the actual status of our case. Do we have to wait weeks or months? (/sigh)

Looks like I used this :JerusalemIVInquiries@state.gov

  9. wow. contact your senator and let them know. I had this last year, I had the tracking number so I knew it was received and they(embassy ) did call within a week to inform my husband when to come in. they could definitely close your case !! your decision depends on this test....I was in a rush to get it done from the minute I received the paper asking for DNA test....and my husband said it was a nurse that came into the embassy did the test and sealed it back up. bring cash with you!!!! it cost my husband another $50 for the nurse to show up, that was not included in the DNA test price
