  1. For me, the finish line will be welcoming my husband home for the final time at POE at LAX. Just knowing he doesn't have to leave again will be SO amazing and then we are really done!!

Completing the interview was definitely a wave of relief though since now we only have to wait for the visa to be delivered and book that final flight!!

Yes, the POE is the finish line, but the last hurdle is the interview approval/visa, the rest is a cake walk.

I repeat, the rest is a cake walk.

    can't wait myself!

  2. Thanks for the quick response. The fact that the NVC has already received my case and I-130 petition from USCIS means that they should have the entire packet (including wife's original birth certificate) I sent initially, right?

I would hate for them to come back and say I need to send an original birth certificate when it is sitting in front of them along with the initial I-130 packet.

man, i don't know. to play it safe you should get a backup Birth Cert.

  3. Congratulations, I remember what a great feeling it was to emerge from the tunnel and into the light upon a successful interview! Now the finish line is in your sights!

what finish line? When they send the Visa? or at the POE?

I would think that the first and most important finish line is for the interview to be approved.

I'm still waiting for my case to be completed, if it wasn't for the delay on getting one of the police certificates, we most likely would of had our interview by now. I haven't been with my wife for almost a year now.

  4. Hi,we are in our 5 months today,my husband called uscis vermont,he was talking to a lady, and she said they are working on April 9,the lady asked him, if he want an e-request and it will take two weeks,my husband said NO. I asked him why you said NO? and he said,if they are working on april9,probably next two weeks they will work on May,ughhhhhhh......if my husband is near to me,i really wanna squeeze his balls(sorry),i think its an opportunity to do an erequest,i dont know why he did not give a try,if an e request will work, its super good but if not, thats ok.what do you think guys?:-)

    be carefull.

  5. honestly I dont think the Egyptian embassy has done one thing right in my process. Never mailed me a packet 3. finally I got emailed them after a month, and they basically said " oops sorry yeah, we sent that to the wrong address, but never let you know via email, or phone call".. cool no problem.. now im waiting for 4 months for these incompetent people to schedule me an interivew. it seems like scheduling an interview is the easiest part of the process. but not to those people. its not like we ask for much.. JUST DO YOUR JOB

If I lived in any of these countries like Egypt, Syria, Iran, etc.... My only goal in life would be to get out of there FAST!

    best of luck to you!

  6. normal procedure, so you have nothing to worry about.

everybody else on VJ will back me up.

We sent IV packet (ds230) and supporting documents to nvc, they received them on 2nd Oct 2012.

Today we got a email chdcklist asking us to send the IV documemts. ####### is going on? Did they lose the IV documents which were delivered to them on the 2nd ?

We're not sure how to respond to this? Any suggestions?

  7. just be glad it's only a 2 week delay instead of months.

Spoke to the NVC today and found out that while my AOS for my wife and the IV packet for my wife and step-son have been completed BUT they are on hold. When I did the AOS, I only did one for my wife with my step-son listed in the "additional immigrants" section.

I reviewed this site AND the Dept of State site and I did not see this specifically called out anywhere. Even though this is a very simple thing to correct, literally flip flopped the names on the form, this is something that will cost us an additional couple weeks for the NVC to receive and process the form.

This is my own fault for not thinking that something as trivial as this could cause a delay, just be aware that if you are filing for spouse and someone else together that you need to do an AOS for each person even though you only pay one fee.

    Peace

  8. You are going to need his 2011 ITR and W2s, if any. Also, his most current pay stub and letter from his employer. Maybe the employer letter can explain that his job is a "permanent" job, he is in good standing, and his current pay, weekly/monthly/etc... From what was stated in the OP's post this is probably the only information he can provide.

    Best of luck!

    Sid

or a tax return transcript if you can wait.

  9. My Husband has been unemployed for almost 3 years,2009 til 2011 he got his new job last march 2012, we're thinking about sending his 2008,2009,2010 ITR Transcripts since it was his only recent transcripts, and explain it on cover letter, do you think nvc will accept that and would not send us RFE? And i would like to ask what is the minimum household income for this year?

Sorry VJers if im posting so many questions almost everyday...but thank you..

have your husband file for the 2011 tax year ASAP (right now!)

and forget about tax year 2008. The most important tax year is 2011.

all other VJ members that know the facts will repeat what I just said.

but I was first! attention please! thank you.

  10. If you don't approve, why would you re-post it? Just to worry people?

How on earth would somebody be able to know that they're losing HALF of their mail? There is absolutely no way that is anywhere close to the truth - that is a made up statistic that will really worry people that have sent in original birth/marriage/police clearance certificates.

I'm sure accidents do happen at NVC and I know that you're just trying to help, but try to exercise a little common sense when throwing around rumors.

I hear you, but I am worried and do not have extra coppies of some things.

  11. I would like to know the same thing. After sending the AOS and DS-230, what happens next? Do I need to call every day? Do we receive an email or two? We sent the AOS on Monday and the DS-230 today. The stories on here about packages getting lost are worrying me.

with things being backed up at NVC, they now have a 50% rate of lost mail.

so I hope you have back-up documents to send in again.

this info came from another VJ member so I do not aprove this message.

  12. Then follow these operators' advice if you want to believe them. It's your case, not mine. I'm telling you what I would do for MY case. Since you have the original PCC already, I honestly don't understand why you don't want to send it. It's not like a birth certificate or marriage certificate which you'll need for the rest of your life. The PCC is only for this immigration process. You'll never need it again.

I have decided to play it safe and send in the original. thanks for your help

  13. Since your flag says France that sounds strange, you can order them online for free, are you talking about a different country?

your right, France is easy and available by applying online.

Romania is her home country, though.

Sounds like we should send in the original police certificit even though all the NVC operators tell me that only a photo copy with translation is fine.

    who really knows for sure?

  14. We only have one original police certificate from her home country and it's difficult to get another one because of the delay and money involved.

So would it be okay to just send in a good photocopy with an official tranlation?

And we will have the original police certificate at the interview. I am afraid it may get lost so if only a photo copy is needed just like for the passport bio page I would like to play it safe. I called the NVC and was told only a photocopy is needed for the Passport Bio Page AND Police Certificate.

If I am wrong about this, please somebody let me know, etc...

    thanks!

I am sending the IV package tomorrow.
