  1. Hi Everyone-

I filed my AOS and DS-230 last Friday the 13th. I called today to get the status and the operator notified me that they are waiting on our marriage license. I told him that I mailed it out with the DS-230 packet. He asked if I mailed the original or a copy and I told him I sent in both. He said that it would take 10-15 days for them to check the file again to see if it is there. What do you advise I do?

    :crying:

that's what I would be doing, then I would just wait it out.

not much more you can do I guess

  2. I'm very sad!! Is it normal for the NVC to take this long to schedule an interview for Ankara??

you can check other people's timelines that have interviews in Ankara. Or you can have someone else do this for you or maybe someone from Ankara will chime in. But if I was you I would look myself first, then ask questions later.

best of luck to you and congrats on your NOA2.

  3. are any case numbers nowadays taking 2 to 3 weeks instead of 4 weeks?

Don't listen to that canned speech of 15 or 20 days mess. I was approved June 29. I call now morning and late evening and sometimes inbetween. My case has yet to arrive. Some cases are taking 4 weeks to be received at NVC than more weeks for case #, and more weeks for AOS and IV Bill. Than more time waiting for case complete and interview date. Seems NVC has now become our USCIS and waitiing and waiting. No more shortcuts through NVC they have found us out me thinks.

  4. We filled in March at the VSC and got ours a week ago.

and I believe you are wrong about first come first serve because they are also divided between workers at the VSC. Just like some service centers can take longer, some case workers take longer!

I wish the very best of luck to you!

I would wait a month, if nothing, then hire a lawyer.

Today its 183rd day, I filed my I-130 in Jan and the NOA1 date is 18th Jan 2012. I dont understand why many of feb and march filers have got approved but there are handful of Jan filers left out. I thought they go according to who filed it first. I also had put a service request and got a reply that they are still reviewing my file and will update within next 60 days. Vermont service center is working really slow.

  5. thanks! can anybody else confirm this?

I just don't undersand why they would say: If it's my current residence... when it's no longer my current residence?? I guess this is why VJ is here to clear things up.

you will need a "police certificate" from each country, france and romania. France because you have lived there longer than 6 months and also Romania because this is your home country and you have also lived there longer than 6 months.

  6. If this applicant is living in their country of nationality at their current residence for more than 6 months, then this applicant needs a police certificate from the police athorities of that locality.

For over one year I have been living in France. Before that I was living in my country of nationality (Romania). I am the applicant and currently not living in my country of nationality (Romania).

So what does "at their current residence" mean in plain English?

My current residence is in France, correct? So would this mean that I only need a police certificate from France and not from Romania?

  7. I am a Romanian citizen and have been living/working in France Full time for about 18 Months. Before that I was living in Romania for many years. I have a Police Certificate from Romania but it's over a year old. (I am sure they would require a more recent Police Certifcate if I needed to submit one from Romania?)

    I have two questions:

    1) Is a recent police certificate from France all I need to submit with the DS-230?

    2) If I need to send a police certificate from Romania, will I have problems because I got the certificate over a year ago?

It may be hard for me to get a new one from Romania right away so I pray to God that I will only need one from France.

  8. We have a co-sponsor that alone meets the requirements for income and assets. The co-sponsor is the parents of my husband and they do not live together in the same household. My Husband and co-sponsor are both US citizens. My husband is self-employed and only made a net profit less than $500 in 2011, but he filled taxes anyway and is going to include his federal tax transcript for the year 2011. It's a part time computer repair job and there is no business license.

Because we have a co-sponsor that meets all the requirements, does my husband need to include more than just the 2011 Tax Transcript and a Self-Employment Letter for the I-864 ?

He does not have any pay stubs or copies of any checks, just deposits to his personal bank account in 2011 that shows all his income.

any help would be much appreciated! We just got our NAO2 approved a few days ago!

    thanks!

    -Denise
