  1. I think you also need a confirmation printout of your interview appointment, not JUST the MNL case number right? You can't take the medical before you have at least 'scehduled' the interview I thought.

    Could be wrong.

Either way, with the MNL case number you can pay the fee at BPI, then sign up for an interview, so either way you can move forward.

taht was i thought too, i remember when i did my medical examination they took a copy of my appouintment letter. so maybe the system has changed?

  2. For IR-1 NVC sets the interview date.

Here is a chart for the process Flow Chart (I just noticed that chart is rather dated, hopefully most of the info is still accurate)

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2991.html#9

So if NVC schedules for interview for IR1 its no brainer that they do schedule for IR2, im just worried what if my wife will get earlier interview date then how bout my son or vice versa, im jsut wonderding maybe there is a way to have their interview on the same date.

  3. You or your fiance does the scheduling. First, you have to call the NVC and ask for your case number. After then, you can schedule your appointment for an interview. You must pay the application fee before setting an appointment though. You can go through the US embassy website and they will give you a site as to which you can set an appointment either online or by calling.

    Hope this helps.

I already paid all the neccesary fees, I was just tryin to anticipate stuff coz i wanted my wife to be here atleast before my birtday which is sept. 7 , so regardless fo what category we are is it us who can schedule the interview? I dont know what is the difference between K-1, CR1 mine is IR1 "spouse of US citizen" or are they the same  ?

  4. I have read and witnessed so many people trying to "guess" their arrival dates into the United States based on other people's timelines. I even did it at one time. I even saw a girl that set a date and planned her entire wedding around a projected date of arrival (to which she missed and lost hundreds of dollars in deposits). My advise --- There is a saying in America that goes: "Never count your chickens until they are hatched" and in this process it is oh, so true!

The visa process is extremely frustrating and requires patience. My advice, Don't book anything until that visa is in her hand!! You will only get disappointed. I saw in one post where the girl actually chewed-out people trying to help her saying "don't tell me to just be patient because that doesn't help and it doesn't do me any good." As if anyone here can tell her when her NOA2 was going to get to her.

Just be nice ... this process is different for everyone and every country --- There is nothing more that we want than to have our loved one in our arms.

I was reading your timeline, I noticed you already did your medical examination without an interview date? how did you do that?

  5. The I-864W is for the intending immigrant. It's their declaration that they are exempt from the requirement to have a sponsor. Since your son is under 14 you can sign for him. It says so right under the signature box:

(Signature of intending immigrant, or of U.S. citizen parent if intending immigrant is less than 14 years old)

    thank you!

  6. The Petitioner is the one who is filling.

Both names will be on the form.

what u mean 2 names should be in the form?

I put my son's name on Part. 1 (information about the intending immigrant) (You or you adopted child) <==== this makes me comfuse.

and on Part 2 Reason for Exemption, I check the box it says "I am uner 18, unmarried, immigrating as the child of a US citizen and will automatically become a US citizen udne the child citizenship act of 2000 upon my admission to the United states."

since my son is only 8 years old I did signed this for him.

I wanna know if I did it right?

  7. Chances are that you will have to produce these documents at the time of interview, if you don't receive an RFE. Be on the safe side, and in the meantime request tax transcripts from the IRS in case, you receive a RFE. Tax transcripts are preferred over copies of 1040.

    Good luck!

I was expectinf that, i was thinking maybe i could call them and tell them i scrwed up. but thank you!!! i will be ready then.

  8. Very possible. Make sure you keep up to speed with the NVC process. give them what they want as soon as they want it. Have everything ready to be sent before they ask for it. Send things the same day you get it. If all goes well you could possibly have your interview at the end of August and visa in September. Of course ALL o this is just my opinion!

    GOOD LUCK!

Thank you!!, but how come we already emailed the choice of agent until now we havent received a response, it past 5 business days already? any thoughts?
