  1. There is only one category for a USC to petition a sibling. It doesnt matter if the sibling is married or not. There is no unmarried sibling category.

That's what exactly what i told my friend, he just followed what his sister told him, i just dont undersatnd why the sister have to tell him that.

  2. Can you please take a look at my I-130 cover letter and let me know if i need to change/modify anything.

I hope i am not missing any documents/forms/evidence, and that what i have is sufficient.

    thank you

I prefer money order rather than personal check.

  3. Ahhh.. but the difference is we all went through a lot of time, worry, and money to do it LEGALLY....... and it's ####### that someone who possibly came in illegally dares to ask us how to get around it.

he came here legally, he was petitioned by his sister and his sister told him dont tell the CO that he's married, he came here around late 1990, i ask him why he had to lie considering he was mid 40's when he came here, IDK what were they thinking back then. i really didnt ask for more explanation form him he basicly telling me his story.

  4. If his being married would have had no bearing on his immigration process to the US in the eyes of the USCIS, he should be able to renew his green card and remain a LPR, his fault being lying to an immigration officer in the process of obtaining citizenship. A lawyer might be able to help him straighten the record. However, if his marriage abroad should have prevented him from obtaining LPR status, he might consider leaving the country voluntarily before deportation proceedings are brought about. It can get ugly in these cases.

    Good luck!

At 1 point he did hired a lawyer, but i think he already gave up. i feel sorry for him, nobody really wants to be in his position.

  5. Good, I am glad they discovered his lie. Depending on the details, his whole immigration file was based on fraud (he lied and said he was not married when he was), and they can revoke his Greencard and deport him.

Without the details, no one can help you. No on is going to help cover up fraud, however.

He either was not eligible for his family category by being married (maybe he came in under an unmarried child category), or he used this lie for some other reason.

according to him he was petitioned by his sister, i ask him why u have to lie about it, he said that's what his sister told him. he was already 45 years old (not sure) when he came here in the US.

  6. I have a friend and his citizenship was denied, I really didnlt ask for the details, but he told me when he had his interview to migrate in the US he said that he was not married, but when he applied for his ctizenship he claims they found out he was married before he even get here in the US. and now his greencard is about to expires. what he should do?

  7. i wish there is a separate seminar or orientation if your husband/fiance is also pinoy but US citizen. so that we can skip some parts of the seminar not applicable with pinoy spouse or fiance. to save some time.

I totally agree with you, the seminar should be for fiance/spouses for different nationality, not for naturalize citizen.

  8. Hi all,

I recently submitted our I-130 to the Chicago lockbox from abroad (hoping to get fast tracked) and its time to start preparing for the NVC step, which seems far more confusing to me than the USCIS stuff. So I've got some questions:

-First thing, I will be notified by USCIS and invoiced via email (or snail mail), correct?

-Once I pay the fee, I can begin sending in requirements, correct? Or do I have to wait for paperwork to arrive in the mail? Do the documents and forms all have to be sent together?

-If we send the original marriage certificate and birth certificate to the NVC, they will later be sent to the consulate prior to the interview and will be returned to us after the interview, correct?

-If we choose to send 'certified' documents, who can certify them? The issuing agency (local government)? The consulate here in Bangkok? A notary public or somebody else in the US?

-Is there anything specific we can do now to start preparing for this step to speed up the process?

Thanks in advance for any info.

    This may help you.

  9. hi i am just curious..why you guys are waiting for interview dates? you can book your own appointment date right? or call for scheduling the interview date.. when we hve our visa case number and aproval from NVC we paid our k1 visa fee right away thru bpi bank and schedule an interview thru phone..this way it will be faster..

Im assuming you are in K-1 Category, NVC does the appointment for IR1 and CR1.
