  1. This is what i put in my cover sheet

Please find enclosed the following items comprising the DS-230 packet. I would kindly request that originals of pertinent documents be returned to my spouse at the time of the interview in Manila, Philippines (my spouse can provide photocopies for your official records, if needed):

    ▪ Two (2) Passport Size Photographs of Beneficiary

    ▪ DS-230 Part 1 completed and signed by beneficiary

    ▪ DS-230 Part 2 completed by beneficiary – unsigned, as of yet, per instructions

    ▪ Photocopy of the Biographic Data Page(s) of Beneficiary’s Passport

    ▪ Original/Certified Birth Certificate of beneficiary and a copy

    ▪ Original/Certified Marriage Certificate and a copy

    ▪ Original/Certified Police Clearance Certificate and a copy

i sent "NBI clearance" although my cover sheet says "Police certificate"

Do you think they will approve my IV package?

I just want to confirm, "Police certificate" from barangay is not necessary , correct?  :help:

Is it easy/quick to obtain a "police certificate" from Philippines? anyone know?

just in-case i get an RFE for this, i hope not.. :crying:

Have your IV package been approved?

Yes it was closed July 24,2012.

  2. Does anyone know the difference between:

    NBI Clearance and Police certificate?

I've only included the NBI clearance (Green Paper, half sheet) along with the other documents into my IV packet.

Did i also need the "Police certificate"?

    We only sent NBI clearance.

  3. Hello to all. This is my first post. I do want to applaud you all because you have helped me so much through this journey. This is out story. I'm a USC married to a spaniard. We live in Spain. In January 2012 I sent out the i130 for my husband. On May 11 we got approved and it all went to NVC. In June we sent out our choice of agent and paid the AOS fee. Early July sent in the AOS paper work. On the 12 of July paid the visa fee and on the 16th sent the ds230 for hubby (via fedex) with all civil paperwork with translation and all. The thing that is driving me crazy is not knowing when he might get his interview for. Sometimes I think I'm gonna have a breakdown. The reason for this is that I have to get the kids ready for school in the USA and I start college on the 27 of Aug. I fear having to leave without him. And he is petrified of flying into the states alone. I know no one will be able to give me a specific date but any words of comfort will be greatly appreciated. Cause right now I feel like I'm in pause with everything. Thanks for taking out time to read this.

    You will get it soon!!

  4. So close...

    Just got this via email:

The NVC completed its processing of XXXXXXXX's visa petition.

The petition is waiting for an appointment to be scheduled at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in DAKAR, SENEGAL. When an interview appointment is scheduled, the petitioner, principal applicant, designated agent, and attorney of record (if applicable) will be notified.

Let's hope it doesn't take another month to get an interview scheduled!

WOW! well atleast you received some email that your case is closed, knowing the fact we are identically the same in time line.. I wonder what happen to mine?

  5. I call and they ask for your case number, beneficiary name and DOB and then Petitioners name and date of birth and when they finally ask what can I help you with I just say Has my case been updated? lol. I never know what to say. Its kind of embarrassing because I know what the answer is. “ma’am you have to wait for 20 business day from the day we received it”

I ask the same question all the time too!, Im just hoping they will say something different instead of wait for 20 business day for them to review LOL.

  6. YOUR originals are still in your hands, your petition packet has them also.

Its two pieces of paper, if you really want to send them to your wife, attach them to an email... no big thing. I was simply saying they are not required or asked for by the embassy.

For what is required by the embassy follow the link I provided, its info for IR/CR -1

Yes ive been reading that and I didnt see nothin about bringing originals NOA1 or NOA2, i just need sum 2nd opinion on what else she needs to bring. she already have a copy of her NOA1 and NOA2.

  7. Looking to see it? Never heard that one ( ). Besides if they wanted to see it, they can see an original in your petition packet that is sitting on the desk in front of them.

But the original NOA1 and NOA2 are still in my hand.. I jsut gave them a copy of it..

So what you telling us, our wives just gona go to their interviews with their appointment letter and photocopies of everything we sent to NVC?

I'm Sorry if im getting annoying..

  8. I understand that NVC already have my documents, I just want to know what else should my wife bring to the interview besides from all the photocopies of all dcouments i sent to NVC.

  9. It is possible they will require the originals, I'm not sure. Usually they will not even ask to see the NOA1 or NOA2

    True....Thanks for the thoughts!

    Good Luck on your Journey!

  10. I am making a copies and sending originals to my wife. Your wife will be allowed to keep the originals anyway, so she can bring them back with her when she comes.

SO basicly she may need the originals on her interview?
