  1. Call NVC and get your case number, once you have the case number you can go online and fill in the DS-261 form after a couple of days latter you get invoice for AOS. See my time line, It took 35 days to get my case number after NVC received it. I was calling everyday till I get my case number :). Good luck!

Do you just ask the rep if they have assigned you a case number yet? and even if they havent, do you go ahead and give them your email address?

  2. My husband needs surgery, he has a condition that is not permitting him to work until it is done, its taking a toll on our finances, and there is also noone close to him that could help him after the surgery since it is abdominal and he would need a few days or weeks to get back on his feet.

  3. Got my hard copy noa2 that my case got sent to the nvc and since my husbands country does everything electronically I'll email everything to the nvc, thank god finally .

    CONGRAGULATIONS!

We still have NVC ahead of us, but it is still a great relief!

From my understanding, you cant expedite USCIS, only NVC

  4. Has yours happen to get sent off to the nvc yet, hopefully wishing I know but I wanted to follow someone near my approval date to see when they get sent out I got approved the day after you .

I will call next monday to see if they have it, I tried last week and still nothing, I guess it was too soon.

In the meantime I'm gathering all my copies so that once they say "GO" I will send it all in.

    I can't wait to be over!!! :dancing::dancing:

What about you? have you called NVC?

  5. Your welcome.

Once your I-130 has been approved from USCIS, it will be sent to NVC (a part of the Department of State). Depending what service center the I-130 is coming from, this can take anywhere from a few business days to a few weeks. You may or may not get an email from USCIS/update on their website stating when it was sent.

You won't get correspondence from NVC when they receive your case from USCIS. You need to call an operator at NVC to find this out.

Once NVC does receive your case, it's currently taking around 3 weeks for a case number to be assigned.

You should read Saylin wiki about NVC process Here

    Good luck :)

I got my uscis approval on March 2, so its barely been a week, I have already called nvc once and they still didn't have me case.

question: does it really help at all to call to know they have case already? because the phone rep was like "it may take 35 days to get your case, so just sit tight." pretty much.

  6. I know alot of people translate their own documents, and thats fine, I am very fluent in spanish, so I felt confident in doing my own, I still got an RFE for translation from USCIS, so just to stay on the safeside, (I dont want there to be any reason for a checklist because of my own mistake again) I am planning on get all my translations done from registered translaters.

  7. Im still waiting on case number, but Im trying to gather all my documents ahead of time, I have like 2 questions.

1st. My income is only based off my w-2 and I qualify for the 184 EZ, can I use that one even though I have the joint sponsor?

2nd. My joint sponsor is not related to me at all, he is a coworker. Can I still use him?

P.S. I posted this questiong on NVC Filers March, but I didnt see anyone reply, so please dont ban this. Thanks guys!
