  1. Wrong, you still need to send the AOS package to NVC. USCIS may have trashed the one you sent since its not a requirement in the initial filing.

You will have to wait until the IV fee invoice is available to be able to pay the IV fee. After paying that you need to send IV package to NVC.

It will take NVC 60 days to review each package.

60 days for each package meaning 60 for IV and 60 for AOS, so it takes 120 days to get case complete from the moment you send in packages?

  2. So, this is completely a rant but...does anyone else get upset that the process is so long, partly because there is so much fraud attempts?

I even see people on this very forum (where most of the people are AMAZING and really helpful, thank you so much everyone) who are asking things about getting there somehow (K-1, CR-1) and now no longer being with that person, wanting to keep their GC or do ROC...etc.

Does that piss anyone else off?

I mean if there was less fraud, a lot of people on here would already be with their loved ones. I would be closer to being with my wife (we just started the process), my step-daughter and would get to actually be living there when our child was born (my wife is 3 months pregnant).

Anyway, complete and total rant...mostly because my wife is not feeling well and I wish I was there to help. And she is having a c-section so that has me even more worried.

    <End Rant>

Again, thanks everyone for the help.

i feel the exact same way

  3. Yeah.......and just wait until you get to NVC. It doesn't get any better. We have been in NVC for 3 1/2 months with no end in sight.

i submitted and inquiry and it didnt affect in any negative manner my case. I just got a email reply like 2 weeks later saying that it was being reviewed by an officer. I also contacted my senator and thanks to that they put "priority" on my case, and this last week I got a RFE. I might be wearing them out, but I have been doing everything in my power. I filed in July, so it has been 7 months now :(

  4. I read on another topic but I just need to make sure. Since before I got married i lived abroad and just tocut the story short I have never filed taxes before. I have been in the states for almost a year. So my question is, I am filing as MFS since my husband is abroad. He doesnt have any income right now, just me, so also as head of household. anywho, I was told to put NRA as his SSN since he doesnt have one. but the website I am trying to file on doesnt let me put letters in. So now what?

  5. First off all calm down.

It's probably something minor, and every time I see situations like this approvals have come very quickly afterwards as long as the reason for the RFE is sorted.

Look on the bright side, you case is no longer gathering dust waiting to be seen, it's being looked at!

So when you get the hard copy, send them quickly what they need and I'm sure as hell you will be approved within the next month.

Ok I feel better now, I was freaking out and probably overreacted. I dont know what it is yet, since I just got a text saying that my case was updated. I guess I'll find out in a few days. And I did think of the pro that my case is being reviewed and not just sitting around. Anyways, I dont know you guys, but you are awesome! Thanks for you putting up with my craziness.

  6. Sorry If Im wearing you guys out with my posts, but I feel like I am going crazy. My PD is July 15th, I submitted an inquiry, contacted my Senator, who I still havent heard an update from, and I have blown up the phones at USCIS. Probably called around 20 times..... Is there anything else that I can do to get a stinkin approval?? Anybosy else that I can talk to and hear any sort of an update about my case? Im so ready to be over this step and to move on to the NVC.
