  1. Hello All,

My wife will be having her interview soon at the US Embassy in Manila.

I just want to know if Another set of documents (marriage certificate, NBI Clearance, Birth cert etc..) is needed to bring to the interview?? .. I have sent all originals to NVC and i have only photocopies of all documents.

any help is greatly appreciated. thanks!!

  2. she needs a CEMAR(certificate of marriage) as a proof of marriage

besides from MC and it will show how many times a person is married,

if just once then GOOD. don't worry everything will be fine..

all she needs to do is go to NSO fill up a CENOMAR pink form and pay

corresponding amount, then it will be release in a couple of days.

better to have one than none to avoid delays

We already have the "marriage certificate" from NSO (yellow copy), Does my wife still need to get a copy of "Cenomar" from NSO?

  3. She can do CFO anytime, don't need to wait until the embassy interview. CFO is required of all leaving the Philippines.

    CFO:

ALL exiting required to attend. There are been changed with CFO so for sure read through their website.

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together, from USC - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.

** From the Family Code of the Philippines: it's 21-25 years old for advice and 18-21 years old for consent.

Art. 14. In case either or both of the contracting parties, not having been emancipated by a previous marriage, are between the ages of eighteen and twenty-one, they shall, in addition to the requirements of the preceding articles, exhibit to the local civil registrar, the consent to their marriage of their father, mother, surviving parent or guardian, or persons having legal charge of them, in the order mentioned. Such consent shall be manifested in writing by the interested party, who personally appears before the proper local civil registrar, or in the form of an affidavit made in the presence of two witnesses and attested before any official authorized by law to administer oaths. The personal manifestation shall be recorded in both applications for marriage license, and the affidavit, if one is executed instead, shall be attached to said applications. (61a)

Art. 15. Any contracting party between the age of twenty-one and twenty-five shall be obliged to ask their parents or guardian for advice upon the intended marriage. If they do not obtain such advice, or if it be unfavorable, the marriage license shall not be issued till after three months following the completion of the publication of the application therefor.A sworn statement by the contracting parties to the effect that such advice has been sought, together with the written advice given, if any, shall be attached to the application for marriage license. Should the parents or guardian refuse to give any advice, this fact shall be stated in the sworn statement.

Just to be sure, My wife does not need a CENOMAR (certificate of No Marriage) since we are already married., correct?

  4. hi! i, too, was confused about the nbi clearance and police certificate because of two different pages on the NVC website: this >>> http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html and this >>> http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9719 but we decided to go with the reciprocity by country information since it is more specific.

by the way, i noticed that we have almost the same timeline except that i am waiting until monday to send my IV package. are you from manila? if so, i suggest that you go ahead and do your medical exam at st.luke's. i already did. unfortunately, i was one of those who were required to undergo sputum exam so right now i am waiting for the result which will be available on september 19 yet. hopefully, NVC will close our case and schedule my interview at about the same time. :-)

My wife will take her medical at St. luke on Monday morning. Hopefully everything goes well.

    goodluck in your journey!

  5. You can do if fist, however you will have to return with the K-1 visa inorder to receive the CFO sticker that is placed in the Visa/passport. I suggest waiting for the K-1 visa and go to St. Mary's for the seminar because they can issue the sticker at the same location! it will take about 4 hours.

K-1 visa? I am currently under CR-1 visa.

  6. Hello all,

My case has been completed in NVC and now is being forwarded to the U.S Embassy in Manila, PH

I just need some details about CFO. Can my wife take the class anytime now or does she need to wait until after her interview.?

Anyone who experienced this, i need some info and also if it is required. thanks in advance VJ !!

  7. Has anyone experience taking their medical exam at St. Lukes medical center?

    Appointment needed? walk-ins welcome?

    Document(s) your beneficiary has brought?

by the way, my wife could not locate her past vaccinations from before, does that mean she may need to take all vaccinations again?

Any other info is appreciated, thank you

  8. This is what i put in my cover sheet

Please find enclosed the following items comprising the DS-230 packet. I would kindly request that originals of pertinent documents be returned to my spouse at the time of the interview in Manila, Philippines (my spouse can provide photocopies for your official records, if needed):

    ▪ Two (2) Passport Size Photographs of Beneficiary

    ▪ DS-230 Part 1 completed and signed by beneficiary

    ▪ DS-230 Part 2 completed by beneficiary – unsigned, as of yet, per instructions

    ▪ Photocopy of the Biographic Data Page(s) of Beneficiary’s Passport

    ▪ Original/Certified Birth Certificate of beneficiary and a copy

    ▪ Original/Certified Marriage Certificate and a copy

    ▪ Original/Certified Police Clearance Certificate and a copy

i sent "NBI clearance" although my cover sheet says "Police certificate"

Do you think they will approve my IV package?

I just want to confirm, "Police certificate" from barangay is not necessary , correct?  :help:

Is it easy/quick to obtain a "police certificate" from Philippines? anyone know?

just in-case i get an RFE for this, i hope not.. :crying:

    We only sent NBI clearance.

Have your IV package been approved?

  9. Does anyone know the difference between:

    NBI Clearance and Police certificate?

I've only included the NBI clearance (Green Paper, half sheet) along with the other documents into my IV packet.

Did i also need the "Police certificate"?
