  1. Hi Everyone, I Just want to know the thoughts of peoples' ideas when Petitioning someone. okay..

Some people have an agent that does there paperwork/petition forms and some do it themselves. (like me)

I just want to know if the process is faster when going through an agent or it does it matter? thannx in advance !

  2. It's to do with the forms, nothing to do with the case.

    ok thank you

Not sure if anyone replied to this yet, but when you turn in all the signed paperwork & supporting documents (such as NBI clearance & birth cert.), NVC prefers recent NBI clearance & birth certificate. So you might have to get updated ones when you get to the NVC submission. Still you've gotta wait for your NOA2 which takes the longest time. There are some who get theirs 3 months or less. Medical exam comes after the US Embassy in Manila receive your completed documents from the NVC & schedule the interview--usually about a month or less away from that time, so your wife must get all her medical exams payed for & done before the interview. Going back, the USEM desires everything to be up to date at the time of interview--anything over (6) months, it's gonna be scary & they will ask for an updated original documents (NBI, birth certificate, letter of employment, tax returns, W-2, etc.) You currently make atleast the required amount financially? This is what set us back, & had to wait for my W-2 & tax returns to send along in to the NVC--wasted like a months & 1/2 in time.

Make sure you have tons of relationship evidence like chats logs, phones bills, receipts & especially pictures(from all stages of your relationship, with family members)! It's going to be a journey indeed, so stay patient & persevere in love--always focusing on the goal of being together. This is a very challenging process & testing of both of your hearts. You've gone to the right place for help--keep asking alot of questions & input here. Best of luck to you both, hope your time isn't as long as ours! GODSPEED!!

    thank you

Yes, your wife is your Immediate Relative. Waiting for NOA2 is long & hard because no action is taking place on your case until you are in the front of the line. The first time the USCIS actually picks it up, they are looking to approve it. If they need more evidence from you they will notify you. You have a couple more months to go before you will hear anything, but once you do, be ahead of the game because things will move MUCH faster through the NVC. Take these couple of months to study the NVC process and the medical/interview process and your wife just might be here for Christmas. :)

thank you, hopefully she is here by this end of this year =)
  3. Your application is processing (or more accurately, in line to be processed, as there are thousands ahead of yours). Since your NOA1 is only 2 months old, your case will continue to show "Initial Review" until your application is approved and you get your NOA2. Most likely, it will still be 2-4 more months before anything changes. My case showed Initial Review for over 5 months until I got my NOA2. You can call National Customer Service Center (NCSC): 1-800-375-5283 if you wish, but all they will likely tell you is that they've got your application.

Thank you, I will wait it out =) hoping for some good news soon.

by the way, i checked my status online and found this at the bottom of the page :

    OMB control no. 1615-0080

    Expiration date 6-30-2012

What does this mean? anyone know?

  4. Just got the email a few minutes ago that our NOA2 was approved! It's my normal bedtime but I doubt I'll be able to sleep tonight  I know there's still much to do and more waiting but I'm just so excited this step is done! Thanks so much to everyone here at VJ for being so helpful. Without your help, I would have been lost

I'm just wondering, Did you also receive a "text message"? or just an email?

  5. She had already gotten her NBI Clearance in Late Feb 2012, also she has the original marriage certificate from the NSO ( I have it as well ), she also has original birth certificate. All others should be a breeze to get =) . Would you know if she is able to take her "medical exam" now or does she need to wait until its been approved?

Also , would you know if she is considered an "immediate relative"?

  6. Hi everyone, I just filed my wife. We got married in the philippines in Dec of 2011. I am a US Citizen born in Hawaii. I filed in late January 2012 Form I-130 and form G-325a including all documents needed. I sent them to the Chicago Lockbox, they have received the paperworks a couple days after, I received form I-797c (notice of action) through mail.

Case type : I-130, Petition for Alien Relative

    Priority date: Feb 6, 2012

Preference classification: 201 B INA SPOUSE OF USC

I believe its been rerouted to the California Service Center for approval. I have been checking my "case status" online everyday and its been almost 2 months now that nothing has been updated. As of today (march 24, 2012) case status is under "initial review" followed by "Decision" & "Post Decision activity".

I just want to know how long the process will take or should I say how long more (aproxx) until my wife should be here. thank you in advance.
