  1. Canada Post is extremely slow. I sent a package of information form Saskatchewan to NVC. I tracked it online and it took 8 days to get to Mississauga. It was finally delivered to NVC after 27 days. I was steamed!

I agree! I sent RFE documents on the 13th for next day delivery purlator ($30) and it isn't there yet. they said because they are closed for the easter friday/monday. I sent something off for xpresspost ($18) a while back and it made it there in the same amount of time as normal post which is like $2. i dont know how much stamp is. So.. waste of money.

  2. 'Mind if I take a closer look?'...

    'oops, I dropped it!'

Oh my gosh!! Look! The yoke is forming into Mother Mary!!

    LMFAO!

oh and about the shipping and it breaking... it says local pickup only, so maybe they were thinking a little bit. no one has a bid on it now. interesting. start bid of 5k!!! good investment, eh?!

  3. OH MY GOD.... You can't imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning and saw all these responses....I'm in tears...I'm humbled

Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.... It means sooooooo much to us..... for all of u (F)(F)(F)(F)(L)(L)(L)

And for the ones who asked questions as to why it's taking so long...I believe it's where we are from, Iran... Also it could be he had a name hit..... :crying:

He is been in Germany for 6 years...has no criminal records (I know because I had him get a police certificate and translated it in English, which my lawyer sent to NVC, but it didn't do any good).... he never has been in US... The congresswoman's office got the same letter from NVC that my lawyer got "waiting for clearance from Washington Agencies"....I don't think the staff were aggressive though... I sent an emil to FBI 4 weeks ago and haven't got a response... So this is the process... What else to do, I don't know...

Again THANK YOU for all your support..... :star:

This site is very good to vent on since we all going through the same process. I have vented on here before and was also so happy to hear replies and it does help a lot. A year is long wait on this process. I wish you the best of luck and hope that you will get approved soon! *HUGS*

  4. The short answer is yes, you've waited too long to file the I-129F. It takes a few months at least to be approved. Four weeks-it's not going to happen. Look at the timelines for an average. To put it into perspective, Russ and I got through the process lightning-fast...and it took us from the beginning of October 2005 to the end of January 2006 to secure his K-1.

You can get married in four weeks, but then you will have to return to England and have your spouse file for the K-3 spousal visa for you before you return again. That will take a few months at best, but really is the only legal option you have that will let you keep your wedding date.

If you try to adjust status from your current situation, you will have to PROVE that you did not have intent to stay when you entered on VWP. This is not easy, the officials deciding have total control over this kind of situation and if you do not succeed in convincing the person reviewing your case you could be looking at a ban from the US for several years. Believe me, the burden of proof is on YOU in that case, and it is not an easy task to prove it. If you did enter the US on the VWP with the intent to remain, you have, in fact, broken the law-they don't like that in the least, for obvious reasons. Not to mention that you can try to adjust status, but it's going to take longer than you have left on the VWP, so not only are you going to be looking at trying to prove you didn't come here with immigrant intent, you are going to have an overstay to explain-overstays will get you banned from the country.

Marry, go home, and have your spouse file for the K-3. That's pretty much your options, in a nutshell.

Well thats not a great situation, I guess we never arranged this very well. I have been back and forwards too many times and now I am not going to see her for months... :(

Thanks very much for your info.... Something is better then nothing... still hope for us

Everyone on here is going through the same thing of not being able to see their loved ones for months. some even a year. :( This is the harsh reality of planning on being with someone from the US. It sounds like you had intent to marry and remain when you entered on VWP, so you can't just apply for aos. however it is legal to go to US on VWP to marry but return home to file for spousal visa. so you can still keep your plans of marriage but you have to face the fact that either way you have to leave, or you will be in illegal status there if you overstay and than you may be given a 3 year ban if caught. k1 is faster than k3. i would start reading the guides on each and decide before your plans in may. you do have options!

  5. Well, it does seem to me that you don't have a very good understanding of the visas at all!

If you are getting married in the US ONLY, you can file for the K-1, bring your fiancee HERE, and get married HERE. This allows you to get married immediately upon her arrival. After that, you could in theory be granted advanced parole to go back and have your ceremony in Cambodia. I wouldn't, if I were you, plan on any kind of timeline before you had the visa or your advanced parole IN HAND. That's what the rest of uf have had to do, that is how it works.

If you are getting married in Cambodia, you can go and do that and THEN file for the K-3 for your spouse. Yes, it necessitates her remaining in Cambodia while you file. Yes, it means that if you cannot stay with her there you will be separated. Yes, it sucks. But that is the way it is.

Your options are limited because you are marrying a non USC. USCIS is not Burger King, you cannot have it your way. This is unfortunate and a big headache to everyone who has been through this-none of us will call the process easy. It entails separation from our partners and long waits, hassles with paperwork, and sometimes ends in heartbreak. It sucks, but this isn't an easy process for anyone, and people around here tend to get touchy when it looks like people want to find ways around the process-yes, it hits a nerve with people who have been through all of this heartache before you.

LMFAO on the burger king thing. never liked them though. not a burger fan.

Evolution... everyone here, especially Gwen666 has given you the answers here to your question. It just seems like because they don't fit into your plans that they are not good enough. Which way you can pick is stated exactly in what Gwen666 has said a few times already. In your case, you maybe can't have your cake and eat it too. First of all, get your citizenship before you even start to worry about anything else because you can NOT apply for i-129f if you are not a USC. Now here is my suggestion when you got citizenship. A lot of people on this site want to do what you are thinking: have a ceremony in her country so that her family can be there and take part too. The only difference is people on this site don't have an actual LEGAL ceremony. This way they are NOT married and can still go the K1 Visa route but still involve her family. Like a pretend ceremony. This is not visa Fraud and therefore you don't have to lie about anything. Actually heard someone on here went through what would have been the whole legal ceremony but never had or filed the marriage licence, but everything else was the same. they are not legally married so they can still file for K1. they had ceremony and reception with all that. If you intend to legally marry in her country don't even bother filing for i-129f, as your are not allowed to anymore, and go with k3. :)

  6. i've seen this video before, but i somewhat hope that this was an act of terrorism.. I'm saying this because i cannot accept that the government would kill innocent people just to have a reason to bomb iraq, iran, maybe syria one day.. It's disgusting!!

UNLESS....now this may seem too much like a movie, but it's possible that there were no victims on the plane in the first place. The names are real but their deahts isn't.. Like im saying that these "victims" have different identities now..

Was there really no parts of the plane found?? It seems hard for me to understand how they can find plane parts in vast OCEANS but they cannot find any in a precise and limited area?! hmmm

i've also seen this video before and a whole documentary on 9/11 being false. pentagon was the biggest one with questions. Very hard to believe that a plane that big would leave such a small hole and how could a bookbe sitting there without any of the pages even burnt when there whould have been tons of gas burning. there definitely should have been some plane reckage.

That does sound like a movie to me, but i also wonder where the people are that would have been killed. I dont think the plane they claimed to have crashed did crash there. but where are the people? didn't identities I don't think so. I think they killed them, if it wasn't the plane, to hide all evidence. I would love to see where the video tapes are that caught the plane crashing, like the gas station one. they probably destroyed them all.

  7. I absolutely love this thread. I LOVE looking at dresses. you guys are all so beautiful. Mine was originally 1000 but i got it from ebay for 300. fell in love with it 3 years ago and was so happy to get it. its for the second wedding. first is really small. dont have a dress for that one yet.

    post-12899-1144985353_thumb.jpg

  8. Well to be honest anywhere you go in Nova Scotia is beautiful.

    Are you driving or flying?

Are you wanting to drive and see as much as you can, or are you just as happy to be in the city and see things there.

Driving along the coast is so beautiful. I miss the ocean so much since I moved here.

There is Peggy's Cove. That is a really nice place to visit. That is just outside of Halifax.

Then there is the Cabot Trail in Cape Brenton. That is something that everyone should experience. Althou it is nicer in the fall when the leaves are changing colours. I took my husband there when he visited one time, and he loved it. It took us 9 hours to drive around it, but its so worth it. Check it out on a website.

You wont be disappointed, I promise.

Were very warm and friendly people in the Maritimes.

been to both many many years ago. Very nice. I remember a place that was all scarecrows. cant remeber the name of it. I miss the little crabs from the ocean that try to pinch ur toes. it tickeles. lol. Nice place to visit.

  9. Here's the deal..

The INA allows K1 holders to have Employment Authorization during the 90 days...

Unfortunately, the regulations that cover employers do not allow anyone to be hired unless they have explicit authorization of employment through an EAD document.. that being an EAD card or an Employment Authorized stamp on the I-94. So a K1 is eligible to be employed.. but cannot be hired because they do not have an Employment Authorization Document to prove that they have that status...

Welcome to the world of immigration.. where nothing makes sense..

In reality, the 90 days is worthless because virtually no one will hire anybody with only 90 days of employment authorization...

Temp Agency would hire for 90 days or less as placements can be less than that. some just a week.

As it not making sense. totally agree. we're allowed to work but not. yay.

Interesting post. Can we put that document into every hand of employers out there Please!

  10. I have a question with regards to this. I have read the guidelines like a zillion times but how do you attach it to a piece of paper and then to the G-325A. They say not use staples. I am using the ACCO clips but how do you attach the bag to the paper I guess is what I asking?

    Thanks,

    Jen

I never stapled it. I gave my fiance a little sandwich bag to put each into and than he used paperclips to attach to g-325a. I never got the ACCO clip things so i scrapped that idea.

  11. man this thread makes me realize all the stuff that i can't get here anymore.. and never really thought about till now... Also ketchup chips! there are no ketchup chips here in the states :-( or regular chocolate smarties... bleah or Aero bars either I think...

LOL on the smarties. Reminded me of a friend who argued with a guy that there were no smarties in the states. went on for months. never thought of looking for that or the ketchup chips. One thing I hate that they don't have: Taco bell, combo #4 of 2 chili cheese buritos, fries and drink. At least not in connecticut. (only thing i ever buy there) I didn't even see fries on the menu there. same with KFC, fries not standard. Don't even get me started on the traffic lights! sooo weird. Canada is much better. i don't think i could drive when i move. Tried to explain it but people never get it. My fiance thinks my traffic lights are weird. maybe just a connecticut thing again.

sadly i will still be here for easter.

    Fresh Timmy Ho's! :D

Sorry, that just cracked me up! LOL

Have you never heard it called that? I always thought it was common slang! Maybe it's a Mississauga Ontario thing?

Must be a London Ontario slang than too. I have heard it called that a lot.

  12. hey everyone, i have a question regarding the age of the US citizen filing a K1 petition.

does anyone know, or have any opinions, on whether or not the visa is less likely to be approved if the USC is under the age of 20. if the petitioner is say 18 or 19 and is a full time college student but has a parent that is willing to co-sponsor a 21 year old UK citizen for a Fiance visa, is the fact that the couple are so young going to be held against them?

any thoughts at all would be greatly appreciated, i look forward to hearing from you all.

    thank you

    Paul

Hey sounds like my situation. I'm 19 and USC is 21. It better not be a problem or I'm going to be really pissed! Lots of young people on here doing it. If you have valid evidence of relationship and all your ducks are in a line there should be no problem. At least your not going through a terrible consulate that just look for ANY excuse for a denial. i haven't heard too much bad about the UK one. check with other people from that one. should not be a problem!

  13. so you are the alien fiance and you are submitting all the info? I need to get on my chick and point her to you so i dont have to deal with this, just joking but also curious how you are doing all this from brasil

    obrigado

    JOe

I sent mine today and didn´t send my birth certificate (I´m the alien fiancee). I read all over that is not needed. But just today I read that someone got an RFE for not sending that.

At the same time, I did send my passport copy, and they say that if you don´t have a birth certificate you can send in your passport, so I am expecting that will suffice.

I think it´s up to you, they don´t request for it, but USCIS can be picky depending on the case.

LOL. I'm also alien fiance doing all the work too. Us determined girls know how to get things done better. I think the process should be equal though on both parts.

I didn't send in my copy of birth cert. and didn't get an rfe for it. never heard of that and never knew they needed it.

  14. My USC fiancee is in the exact same situation as you, and we have used her

    dad as a co-sponsor.

What you said is precisely the way it works. The K1 petitioner must fill out an

I-134, regardless of income. If a co-sponsor is needed, then they must fill out

their own I-134, and gather their own supporting evidence (bank statement,

employer letter, tax return [if self-employed]).

It's pretty simple and straightforward. If you've any more questions, just ask! :)

Elwinto was right. Just like to add that some consulates don't accept co-sponsers while others do. Depends on which one you are going through. Best to add on your profile which one your going through to get answer about that from others from the same.

  15. yes, we are serious about each other, thank you for those unwelcoming comments that have suggested we're not. a three year long term relationship is just that... very serious.

Well when you say things like "We're both willing to go through the hoops necessary to "marry", just for the sake of the paperwork," "us claiming we are engaged to get the visa," and "fake the marriage" than those are the comments that you are going to get. The purpose of the visa is if you already have the intent and am sure you want to marry.

Yes the government doesn't give a lot of options, in my opinion as well, to test out how things are if u live together and work, like u could if ur both from the same country. I looked into work visa way back and you need to have some sort of degree or college to be able to get it. i'm not an expert on it though. I think you should try the student visa so she can learn more english and earn a degree. She needs to have enough money to support herself for at least a year for tuition and living expenses on a student visa. If she goes for student visa and gets it, goes to school, learns you and her really want to still be together, get married, than she can adjust status while she is there. there could be a 2 year residency restriction for her to return to her country. i dont know which student visa that applies to. sooo much info out there and you have a lot of reading to do. I seriously read for days over each.

  16. I would be thankful that your going through vermont and not CSC Where its normally three months. :) There are inconsistencies and it does make you question why people with laster noa1s that are getting their noa2 sooner. Not much you can do. It will come. I'm going through vermont too, Feb. 13th noa1 date, and i'm still waiting (because of my RFE)

  17. I have heard a lot about administrative review or administrative processing, but was wondering if this ever happened to someone going through Montreal, or has anyone heard of it happening. If it has how long did it take? Just curious cause if i pass the interview I was planning on having all my stuff possibly packed and would be picking up the visa the next day and leaving for the states the same day. I don't want to get stuck.

How long does it take if they mail the passport and such if you decide to not come back the next day to pick it up?
