  1. Does NVC send you anything for them processing your case after noa2? Or if you don't contact them do you wait for the letter from your consulate to say that they have received your petition? How fast is vermont to send off petitions to them? I heard CSC was 2-4 weeks to send it or something. hopefully vermont is quick.

Question about the I-134. My fiance has a mutual fund that is 'In Trust' in his name. It was set up by a family member and they said he can use the money if he really needs to. I was wondering if that could be counted as an asset, since it is only in trust. Anyone else ever counted it? He's above the 125% poverty line for 2 people but only $500 more. Anyone think this would be a problem since it is soo close?

    Thanks

  2. I was wondering about this too. When I sent copies of my visa statements for proof of meeting within the last two years it had on it my visa card number and the 3 digit number on the back of the card to verify it, so if someone really wanted to they could do $1000 damage very easy. I pray that no one from immigration miss places it or something since I choose not to black anything out just in case they needed to verify or anything like that. I did though black some stuff out in emails since I didnt think that was as important . ...crosses fingers...

  3. Hey!!! Weren't you just complaining about 4 touches and nothing???:lol::P

Congrats!!! See, touching CAN be a good thing!!!

ya  earlier. i didn't think they would update it again and it was going to be 5 plus touches. They sent me 5 emails saying the same thing that I was approved. i thought that was weird. I only needed 1 but im not complaining now.

  4. Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status:

This case has been approved. On May 4, 2006, an approval notice was mailed.

YAY!!!! :D I'm soo happy. I thought I'd check my status one last time today and was so happy to see it changed to approved. I was worried the rfe stuff we sent them wasn't going to be good enough. Vermont is working! 4 touches the last 4 days did it. 4 is my new lucky number since today is May 4th and its my 11th month with my fiance. we're celebrating our one year now since we cant be together next month. I don't think this grin will leave my face. 2 and a half months later it finally comes.

  5. also try...http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/

    Char

I use this one all the time if I'm looking for jobs. It's pretty good and updated every day for new ones. Monster.ca has too many 'fake' ones like promising that if u work at home u can make 10k a month.

  6. I'm getting incredibly anxious. I have an obsession of checking the status of my petition every hour, especially since I'm with my fiance on vacation and he is at work. I have been touched for the last 4 days, May 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Yet nothing. :crying: It would be so great to get approved today because today is your 11 months of being together. Come on Vermont!!!!! I'm going to start ripping my hair out soon. ahh, venting is good.

  7. This confused me a bit. So if his family has two people you have to do 125% of poverty line for THREE people because you would than include yourself, the fiance, as that other person right? So three total people for 125% for three people? right?

It's just me and my fiance so our family is 2 and 2 is about $16500 based on 125% of poverty line. i think....

Hummm... In this case, it's considered the CO-SPONSOR family, not you and your fiance! Your co-sponsor must do 125% of the poverty guideline for those ones that he supports (including himself) PLUS the beneficiary of the petition. So, one person more!

In my case, my father-in-law lives alone and supports only himself... So, he'll need to do 125% of the poverty guideline for two people! It would be to himself and ME (the beneficiary)...

    Got me, dear!? :)

Ok I get that. I never thought about this co-sponser stuff much. So as per "my father-in-law lives alone and supports only himself... So, he'll need to do 125% of the poverty guideline for two people." than if he doesn't make enough for 125% for two people does that mean he can't be used as a co-sponser? Don't they take in how much the petitioner makes as well? like they add up the amount co-sponser makes with how much petitioner makes?

So.. If my fiance say makes 14 thousand a year so he is 2.5 thousand under the poverty guide based on two people and doesnt have assets. Than we need a co-sponser. If co-sponser say makes the same amount than together it is over the poverty guide. is that ok?

  8. That's it... But just in another words:

Your co-sponsor must follow the poverty guidelines in the following way: Example: If he has a family with three members to support (counting him), he must do 125% of the poverty guideline for a family with 4 people! If his family has 2 members, he must do 125% of the poverty guideline for 3 people... And so on...

    Hope it helped!

  9. I would go with the k1 instead of k3 and get the paper work going now. Move the wedding date back some, and if u go through this you really can't pick one until u have an interview date known. this process is really unpredictable for times. You have almost 6 months right now and you would be almost done the process if you start filling now. If you wait the 6 months and get married as planned than your time apart is going to be that much longer cause only than can you start the k3 process. Your Canadian fiance will have to return to Canada once the 6 month time is up if you plan on using that much. just don't over stay in the usa.

  10. small ziplock bag was my choice for the passport photos and for photos of us together. ;) They did end up putting the photos in an envelope that was noticed when they sent it back after my fiance didnt sign the check. I never two hole punched it since I didnt have something that had two hole punch thingy. I didnt want to accidently hope punch something that had writing on it and than get an rfe for it. It's ur choice. i just felt safer leaving it.

  11. I actually wrote it in english for her and then faxed it to her and she signed it and she faxed it back to me. That was apparently okay.

I'm not recommending this but just conveying that it worked for me.

Wow I'm surprised that they accepted that since it isn't an 'original' signature. Maybe they didnt know it was faxed. good thing it worked out though :)
