  1. I just came back on this site to delete all my info and pics and the first thing i see is your post. Like you My journey ended the same way. Not the end of the road u were hoping for. It's tough. this process is freakin brutal to a relationship. Mine couldn't last. But I couldn't be happier now! My life is finaly going the way *I* want it to. not giving up my life and everything for a guy who wasnt worth it in the first place. Everything happens for a reason and if it is MEANT to be it will happen. Maybe its not meant to be! maybe in a few months u will look back on this and will be glad it happened. i was in TEARS constantly when mine ended. but now i see sooo much how this was the BEST thing that could happen in my life. just takes time. you will get through this!!! and come out stronger. Best of luck to you!

  2. I just wanted to thank everyone for their support. once again you guys are family on here. I can't bare to be on here much anymore since its just too hard. I dont even think I can deal with writing a letter and sending if off to consulate. I never got an email back though saying they canceled it. I was crying just reading what you guys all posted. It's true though. it's much better to find out he wanted out now than for me to give up everything and get married and have to go through moving back home. We both are young still. He's 21 and now has a 17 year old girlfriend. lol. geez. I think i will stick to trying to find love in my own country. Even though im such a pro at this now it would be too hard to go through all of this again. Best of luck to all those out there that have true love with their special someone. maybe in a few weeks of dealing with all this more i can send off the letter.

  3. Well sadly for me this process is ending not on a happy note but with the relationship is over and the visa is over too. A word of caution to all those out there going through this and their fiance not doing there share to get this done and you have to keep reminding them to do stuff constantly. it could be a sign. I should have seen this before when he wasn't doing his share. this put too much stress on the relationship as well as many personal stuff going on. it was more that he wasnt responsible enough or mature to handle this. I was lied to and treated bad the last 2 months, but I'm so glad I know this now and can stay in my own country. I wish everyone the best of luck who are strong enough to make it through this. and thanks for all the advice and answers to questions during this process. I emailed the consulate already but was wondering if i have to do anymore? I just stated i no longer wanted to get married and cancel the visa. Its really tough losing a person you were willing to give up your whole live for and move to another county to be with and to find out all his promises and love were not real. :( what doesnt kill you makes you stronger. i hope.

    thanks everyone on this site.

  4. so i thought i would post on here about my experience emailing the montreal consulate. I have heard from this site that it could take 2 weeks for them to email back. Well I sent them an email about getting my interview date pushed back and they emailed me two days later with this:

"It has been noted on your file, if by any mistake you receive a interview prior to that date, just let us know and we will reschedule.

    Thank you"

Wow i am impressed. i thought i might get a big song and dance about why i wanted it pushed back or that they would say too bad or something. So for anyone wanting to email them, it doesnt seem to be a hassle at all. i just put my case number in the subject line like they asked for.

I'll be lucky to make it to the interview. things with fiance are still not ok. but it will be good news for someone else to have their date that much sooner if i dont.

  5. Check out the thread in my sig. There appear to be two different phone menus, but it seems that you can quickly determine which you are in. I believe both are documented there now. ttyl,

    mich

Ok this was very helpful too since i have to do a lot to get my fiance to understand. i think its a guy thing. lol. jk. So now i can tell him exactly what button to press and what to enter. thanks.

You had been MIA butterfly, hope your process is going smoothly.

I know its been between 1-2 months since my last post. My fiance and I called it quit after a big (now stupid) fight and it's taken two months to be back together and moving again. this visa process really tore us up and put too much strain on both sides. I'm really glad to be back now and still going through with the process. I heard about the new law thing that made your '3 week vermont approval' turn upside down. I thought you would get approved when they approved mine after getting my rfe. that was may 4th.

So far things seem to be going smoothly again except this tax thing but once again all you guys from this site make me stess out a lot less and are soooo helpful! but im now 1 month behind on getting stuff for interview. ahhh I cant wait til this is over.

  6. Has anyone had experiences with calling montreal to push their interview date back? I haven't gotten mine but I'm really worried that I will not have the documents ready in time. I did send package three back (my mistake with everything going on now) but my fiance and I have had a some problems and because of that neither of us have gotten anything done yet. Since montreal is slow i figured i could send it and have lots of time gettig things together. but now im a month behind. Based on timelines I'm thinking I might get a september interview date. But because of my job too i can't get time off than and want to continue working for a few months for more money. so im not planning on quiting if i cant get it booked off. So I was thinking of calling montreal to ask not to have an interview date set til late october as the earliest. I know some people call to get one sooner without much luck, but anyone call to get a later one? Do you have to wait until you actually find out your date first before attempting this? I just want to save the hassle of getting a date and than seeing if its possible for later one. my fiance has also lost his tax return which adds to the mess. I'm so stressed.

    thanks for any advice.

  7. Ok So my fiance is gathering the documents to send me for I-134 and my interview, and as of last week he can't find his tax return. Has anyone else had experience like this? Where can he go to get another one or a copy of it? Now I'm worried that if I dont have this at the interview it's going to be a problem. Is there a government website you can request to get a copy of it? How long does it take to get one?

    Thanks for any advice.

  8. I came home from work early cause I have been sick since last thrusday night. Nice to see package 3 sitting in my mail box. Made me a little more happy. Kinda thought it would look different and not so plain. It's bittersweet news because of stuff going on with fiance. One question, it didn't come with DS 230 Part 2. Does montreal usually send that with it? I just dont want to be missing something. I received the DS 230 part 1. Hopefuly I'll get this mailed off in a few days.

I called for police cert. and they told me it was free. I just needed the letter from montreal and some id and it will take 2 minutes. Anyone else get theirs for free? I'm going through London Ontario. I just hope when i get there I don't hear a different story by the person working.

  9. ok so i havent bee on this site in a few days and to come on and here about this new law. I almost mad a heart attack. good thing my noa1 is before march 6th. this law is bull. i feel sorry for everyone going through after march 6 especially CSC and TSC. 3 or 4 months is long enough wait as it is. now it could be months more. How u find out if ur case is affected? some state they have been affected before the march 6th date. grrr. another mess to deal with

  10. Can I ask a question on this same subject? I was naturalized through my parents when I was young but only have my American passport as evidence. I can probably try to locate my parent's citizenship papers but it won't be an easy task since they are both deceased. Will they accept my American passport number as evidence? Please advise

Passport counts as proof of citizenship as long as you send them a copy of every page in your passport. It still has to be valid, unexpired, and issued for at least 5 years.

  11. Before the Canucks start celebrating too much, while the CAD is doing just fine, it is not performing any wonders. Your Canadian Dollar is not performing great against anything but the US Dollar and any currency that happens to be pegged to it. You CAD is behaving fairly normal against the Pound Sterling, the Euro and even the Yen. What you're really seeing is the USD heading down the crapper yet again. No wonder looking at the "borrow and spend like there's no tomorrow" policies of this "conservative" government of ours. ;)

Well it isn't everyday you can go over to Europe to do some shopping. It's still good news that the CAD is going up at the expense of the USD going down. There's a big difference if your a neighboring country and especially for moving there. All the money you saved doesn't get as chewed up when converted. That's why I'm happy.

  12. I was going to print of the package 3 forms and fill out so i get everything right and than transfer the info when i actually recieve package 3 from montreal. I was just wondering what is include in it to fill out. I have way too much stuff saved on my computer for this process and have gotten myself confused. I want to make sure I got this right....

The DS-230 is one and this is what you send off right away after getting it in package 3.

The DS-156 is one and this is kept unsigned until interview.

The DS-156k is one and also kept unsigned until interview.

Those are the 3 right? I have DS-158 and DS-157 forms saved on my pc and have no idea what those ones are for if if they apply to k1.

    Thanks.

Oh, and I'm not counting i-134 cause my fiance fills that one out not me.

  13. Thanks for all the replies. If it says in package 3 that they are good for 12 months than I will go with that. I was thinking of emailing them just for a bit more piece of mine like someone suggested. What is the email for Montreal?

    Thanks

  14. In love? There's no love in this situation! None of her posts mention her husband, nor show any concern for his well-being. She only inquires about the different possible consequences if she gets caught!

...I just would like to see how blaming it on her atty., if she gets caught, is going to fly with the 'CIS Agency.

She knows it's fraud, she knows it's wrong and she knows it's risky. There's no way to justify her action by blaming on her atty's. advice.

I dont think we have the right to tell her if she is in love or not. I have posted many things on here that havent included my husband.

Anyway we are only assuming she has decided to take this route. The only action she has taken is asking for a second opinion on visa website. She was only inquiring. Why does it have to turn into an attack?

Agreed! Way too much attacking here for someone just trying to get some answers. She's being smart and questioning what her lawyer told her to do. Ya it was bad advice but it wasn't her fault she got told it, and you think you should be able to trust someone who is suppose to know what they are talking about! I'd be hesitating too on what to do if I was new to all this and was told the same. she's just looking for some answers, not to be attacked.

  15. I was wondering if the RCMP police cert. has an expiry time. Somwhere I remember reading 6 months or 4 months. I'm thinking of getting it now since I have my noa2. Montreal is really slow though and I don't want to get it too soon and than its no good at interview. I have no criminal record at all.

    Thanks
