There were some places on the I-130 in which there was not enough room to type the information using Adobe. So I typed what I could and then hand wrote the information I couldn't type in. I used a pen with an extremely fine point.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to request 10 copies. That's what I did for the document I got from the State of Florida.

I requested a copy of my divorce decree from the State of Florida. They sent me a "Certification of Report of Dissolution of Marriage." I submitted the document with my I-130. I got an RFE saying that it is insufficient. It says I must submit a document that says "Divorce Decree." However, the State of Florida does not provide such a document. I think I have to go the actual county (Leon County) to get such a document. However, Leon County has a pathetic web site and does not provide any information on how to acquire the document. I'll have to call them tomorrow. Hopefully it won't take too long. By the way, the Embassy in Manila accepted the "Certification of Report of Dissolution of Marriage" to prove my divorce when I applied for our daughter's CRBA.

I received email today saying I got RFE. It didn't say why; I have to wait until I get it in the mail. I sumbitted more evidence than necessary for I-130 approval. So the only thing I can think of is they are giving me an RFE for the address problem. Has anyone every heard of them giving an RFE because of returned mail? Note: I had called them telling my mailing address was correct and then sent me an email after that stating they were resending the NOA1.

I mailed off the I-130 package on November 25, 2013. On December 3, 2013, I received both an email and a text from USCIS saying that my case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Nebraska Service Center for processing and that I would receive Form I-797 in the mail. The email and text included my Receipt Number. I haven't received the Form -I-797 in the mail yet, so I went online to check the status of my case. It shows that the Post Office returned the notice as undeliverable on December 17, 2013 (yesterday). My address has not changed. I called USCIS and gave them my address (which is the same address on the I-130) so they will resend the notice. I also called the Post Office to complain. They took my phone number and said they will talk to the letter carrier about it and call me back.
Will this delay my case?
Also, for timeline purposes, is receipt of the email/text from USCIS considered receipt of the NOA1, or should I wait until I get the form in the mail?

The NBI Clearance has a top and bottom portion. The bottom portion is the "personal copy". I'm submitting the top portion to NVC in support of the DS/260. My question is, will my wife only need the bottom portion (the personal copy) for the interview at the embassy in Manila? Or does she need to get another NBI clearance so that she will have the top portion for the interview?

Do I need to send an original NBI Clearance to NVC in support of DS-260? If so, can it be the short version or does it have to be the long version?

Okay, I'm just about ready to mail my I-130 Package. It is 170 pages and weighs almost 3 pounds. Should I mail it in a box? Or is there a special heavy duty envelope I can use?

Thanks everyone

My wife and daughter's Philippine birth certificates are larger than the standard US Letter size (8 1/2 x 11). So is our Philippine marriage certificate. I made actual size copies to submit with I-130. Is that okay, or do I need have them shrunk down to Letter size?

The I-130 instructions state to provide copies of all the official documents. However, under the section "What Documents Do You Need to Prove Family Relationship?" it states "Birth certificate(s) of children born to you, the petitioner, and your spouse together." It does not say "copy" of the birth certificate. Does that mean the original has to be sent with the I-130?

Thanks. How long does it take to get the NBI clearance and how long is it good for?

My wife's Philippine Birth Certifcate is barely legible. It's in English. She has new copies, but they are the same. The problem is the master copy maintained by the Philippine government is barely legible. Will this give me problems?
