I am sorry for what happened to you and your loved ones. but dont give up. last year in semptember, My husband was denied the fiance visa, so I went home the same month and we did the court marriage, I came back and reapplied, and by the grace of God was approved for the CR-1 visa yesterday. It can be done, all hope is not lost. I know its not fair but if you go the fiance way again, it could turned downed again. So just calm down, it will be fine. Get legal advice or hire an attorney to help this time, Go back home as soon as you can, do the court marriage and reapply. I know it looks like a long time, I felt that way too last year, but before you know it, hes here. Please dont give up.

Hi all, miss chatting with you.. Just had to get the ball moving and I'm soo happy really for all the approvals that were posted.. It keeps my hope alive.. So take a seat because this is a long one. Please read and tell me if you thing if there is anything else I need to address now, before (when ever that may be) I get hard proof on my denial.

I'm trying to make sure I have evidence to address reasons for denial of the K-1.. Because I do wish to marry Kingsley as we plan before the year is out..They did not crush that dream.. But as mention I need to make sure I can have evidence of what they "saw as non - bonafide"

so of course my attempts to have my case stay in lagos is not going to happen.. I even had request for the diplomatic pouch number.. They said the case is closed now and they don't know when it will be picked up . it will take several weeks.. Futher communication comes from NVC.. I can not get the memo notes from the

CO unti it hits US soil using the Freedom of information act.. sooo just want your insight.. going by what my fiancee wrote down ..

MY fiancee answer everyquestion, with out delay, but she kept going back to, "THE BABYDADDY" (never married) issues "how sure are you that there is no relationship, questions about my sons dad, "where does he live, what type of job, did he go to college, why are they not together, how much time does he spend, is it alone in the house or does my son go to his , blah , bla h blah.(WITCH!!) Now after KINGS and I marry this should remove most doubt. I will have notarize statments of from my sons father of no - relationship, I will show he did not sign birthcertifcate, which in Arzonia it means he was not there or chose not to sign.. not only that, 9 years later he still has not signed it.. I will show tax returns that I worked in AZ for the 4 years while he was in Michigan working (his tax returns), pergnant, birthing and raising my son son alone for 4 years.

Next "it seems" she was un believing how we meet. CO said "Like if she really had postions available overseas where you were, why didn't she take them." This one still stuns me because was I to move overseas just because I met a casual friend, because that is all Kingsley was at first , when I finally did like him enough to consider him as a "boy friend" not even a fiancee,, he left!! he was only there for 4 1/2 months!.

So my proof which was in the file will be the letter form my employere showing the date of the promotion and the wage increase and my taxes shwoing the increase, Which is why I chose to stay put. Also, this time I willl go back and submitt ever job offer from the three major international companies since last year, They still have a update file ome and are sending me montly oversears job offes that i qualify for. Lastly, the CO seem to be upset at the pics we took at the river bank (SHE KEPT THEM) in the back of the parking lot of the embassy.. Again I stated I was unaware that this was illegal because, others were taking pics, and Nigereians are husslin up there taking pics for those who need pass port photos. So to that all I can do is apologize I just wanted a keepsake since I would not be there for interview..

The other question that was asked by posting from this site was there any red flags. I am 43 and he is 35 soon to be 36.. He said the CO never asked a question about our ages, she said, so how many more kids do you want to have, he said , before I meet her i knew I didn't want more than 2 because I have helped raise 3 girls and one boy when my father passesd. She gave her sympathy and said well you two already have 1 with her son so 2 is a good number. So I don't know if that was fake, or she really didn't have a problem with it.

So what is your insight.. on this matter all feed back is apperciative.

well after a good cry.. ok while i was crying i called my boss who actually is our 'Wayne County Comsissioner", so he is real close with our two congressmen, but warned me not all congress people get involved in stuff like this, but he called while we talked and one said email him and call back on Monday .. Thanks to Julie Salako, I got hold of a document from the NVC giving instructions to all embassy not to send petiotions back on certain issues, and regulations so my case falls in that category of those new regulations so i copied it and highlighted how she went against these guiedlines, attathced my fiancee statement and sent it to the Lagos embassy and to my congress reps. and my boss. OH my boss (the commissioner) actually meet my fiance during our first meeting in Ghana, because he sponors our annual trips to Ghana to work at our sister school in Ghana, So he said he will write a letter on my be half. I didn't include it the first time because I didn't have a picture of them together. Sorry wasn't thinking. sooo now I guess we just pray and wait. Please don't forget me and continue to give me any suggestion of help..

So a question for others, what if a Lawyer did indeed prepare the documents, what does it matter?

No i was not married in fact he never signed the birthcertificate and I moved away from both our states when I was 5 monts pergnant and moved to AZ for three years.. He is engaged to be married,,a minister and he is more than willing to signed a notorized statement.

But here's the thing, you just need to shift to plan B. Contact your Legislators in earnest and get the ball rolling. Do a search, I'll do one for you too, of a member who got his Fiance to be contacted for a secodn interview and recieved an approval aftger he contacted his/her Senator. This was for Lagos too. The Horses haven't left the ban yet.

Then I hope we're not in trouble too I guess because I was very detailed so that the CO can follow along. My approach was as a Project Manager to a Client. Sigh - Naija na wa oo.

Why did you too take the pictures here when you came to the Embassy, and are you sure she's not still with him... she grilled him for over and hour on these questions. Again I didn't take the job, because I was offered a better positon with pay.. and they have that letter in the file showing my pay increase!!! My sons father never even signed my sons birth certificate, we have never lived together... and he is 8 ..In fact I moved from Detroit to Az. and had him with out the Dad even present... Finally we took the pics. because I knew I wouldn't be there for the interview and He just wanted more evidence of us hanging out in Nigeria... I'm still floored!!!

Lagos at it's finest. You are through California with a K1 so the standard operation procedure is that is will be declared expired and you are free to file again which will not give you a chance to fight it. From what you posted they probably declared the photos staged and the relationship non bonefide, there may be more clues. I would go K1 again as you can strt the package today.

My fiance wanted to go to find out exactly where is was and how long will it take and where to report and etc.. So we took a drive to the embassy my last visit and took pictures there.

So kingsley just rebooted his phone for a brief minute and he said. The devil women (lol) gve him a letter stating that our case will go to the NVC. They will contact me to reschedule another interview...PLS family tell me what I need to do.. and Hell yess I'm going to Nigeria this time..... Hi Chi....we are also denied. My fiance is also highly upset...as he said he answered every questions they asked him. He said after the guy asked his questions, he walked out and returned with a letter in his hand and handed it to him. Basically, it states that our case is being sent back to where it was approve for review. That if we have any questions, direct them to that office.

Was everything was fine then she kept going back to the file, and focusing on my sons father. She was trying to get him t believe that we are still together.. That the reason I never took the job in Qatar(how kingsley and I meet) Is because I must still be in love with my son's father. Even though, though I included a copy of my promotion and promotion pay in the file as to why I turned down the job. and even though My sons father is engaged and slated to be married in the spring.. I'm hurt the most because of all the things the could have flagged me for me being older, a short window to have more kids, or etc. The trumphed up some bullshit excuse... Sooo I'm not sure what to do know.. I have no problem marrying him now, but feel that it won't be the same..Like I'm doing it to prove to "them" we love each other.. Not sure if I can appeal, or write to congressman, or what.. Sooo goodluck to the next ones in line... Noo .. I wanted but my school reduced our vacation time to 12 days to 5!! soo we had to reconsider... Wow.. I'm soo happy for you.. It's all coming to a close and a new begining at the same time...

Hello...newbie here....but I've read many stories on here and glad to know we are not alone thru this all. I've had ppl, doubt our love b/c of being of 2 different cultures but I truly see a beautiful blend ~ One to compliment the other. My fiance has his interview tomorrow and praying for the single word "Approve" in which to finally reunite with the other half of my heart. **Wish us Luck**

I made a photo album on shutterfly or one of those places. That way I could label who was in the pic, where it was taken, and the person relationship to Hubby.

I don't know the answer but I would suggest you get them printed at a professional photo booth, they are extremely cheap and would be 'peace of mind'.

The rules only state that you have meet at least once within the last two years. However, as far as showing proof of a bona-fide relationship it would help to have pictures of with him and your family if possible. For me it was hard, Africa is very far and he would most likely be denied a tourist visa. Lucky for me our first trip we meet I was in Ghana with co-workers and a family member so we got at least a few pics with him and my friends and family. So If you could it would really help build your case.

Sounds good.. My fiancee is taking medical,this week. Hopefully ,he will be all wrapped up and finished by Friday and headed home on Sat. That gives us two weeks to address any issue that may arise,but we praying for a Good healthy report!

Ok People I think she got the point of calling her fiancee "husband".. I really feel for you.. this is one of my fears being denied. Eventhough we have had 3 seperate meetings in 1 1/2 years, It's always in somebodies elses hands,that's the scary part. I pray you have the strength to take another try at this long process so you can be with your "husband to be" .
