V+C got a reaction from Lub2012 in K1 approved but under admin processing at New Delhi
I would suggest calling the US Department of State (DOS) they get updated by the consulate. Their number is (202) 663-1225. They were able to look mine up and tell me what the 221g said before my Fiance received it from the consulate. Good Luck

As a professional nurse I am amazed at how many patients do not speak the english language. Many have been here for 30 years. It makes it so difficult for them (and healthcare workers) when they are sick. I wish everyone that was planning on living in the USA would learn English. I cannot educate the patients on their disease process or medications or prevention of exacerbations. I do know how hard it is to learn another language. I have tried to learn Arabic and I have failed and given up for now. But, I know if I decided to live in another country, I would learn the language in order to protect myself and help myself.
Learning the culture is a whole different story. Embracing the american way is not for everyone. And I accept people as they are. As a nurse I am educated on certain cultural difference in medical care and beliefs so I respect other cultures and the way they want their diseases treated, with herbs, with prayers, with medicine... I respect the way families want to grieve and whatever they believe. I am here to support them and educate them. Many foreigners have educated me as much as I was educating them.
So, I believe they need to learn English for their own safety. And america is a melting pot so they can jump in and melt or stay away from the heat and live their life anyway they choose cause we are in America and that is their choice.

No one has told the OP that she cannot be with her loved one. She is free to move to India tomorrow if she so desires. It is what we would've done if my CR-1 visa wasn't successful. We, as a country, are very open and non-discriminatory when it comes to handing out visas.
    In response Mrs. Sachinky:
Some of us have great jobs, with retirement, a house, kids, family.....We can not just on a whim go okay I will move to India then. Maybe if I was in my early twenty's and not established in life I could just do that. Not saying that I would not go and live with him in India, but we have been apart for long enough and if I need to move to India it will be a long process also. Yes it is very sad that it is not so easy to get a visa to be with your loved one. Also it is great to give honest advice, but stating the obvious holes in her case does not help. She knows just like I and you about where the holes are in our cases that we could have more evidence. She was hoping that what they had would be enough and she was disappointed and upset that they denied him his visa and how they treated him. I would feel the same.

Well said Amy!!! Please don't kick people when they are down. How horrible each one of us would feel if we were told we could not be with our loved ones....

    Hi all VJ members,
I am getting really nervous for my Fiance's interview at the Mumbaii consulate in India. I have been reading a lot of cases of Interracial couples in India specifically who are trying to get a K1 visa are just getting 221g for various reasons. Is there any India K1 Interracial couples out there that got their visa approved on the day of their interview?? Just getting really nervous and the sad thing is that it has nothing to do with our paperwork, the interview, or our proof of relationship. I'm nervous because we are an interracial couple!!
    Thank You, Chrystal

    Dear Amy & Harsh,
I am so sorry for your horrible experience with the Mumbaii consulate. I have been reading that interracial couples have a really hard time getting K1 Visa's through India. You don't sound like your the type that would just give up and that is great!! Keep moving forward and do what you need to so you can be with the man that you love!! I wish you both all the best and keep us posted.
    GO GET'EM GIRL
