  1. Thanks.I tried Kayak too.i guess the time period is what is causing the fares to be so expensive.I was looking for flights from accra ghana to denver Colorado and the price ranges from $2,000 to $3,000 in June. And I thought July was peak season.LOL.

Hey, although I travel to Laos, I have found that it's actually cheaper for me to wait until about 1 month before I travel to look for a ticket. I've looked 6 months in advance and the prices ranged $3500-5000. Three weeks to one month the price was $1800-2000. So, it might be better if you wait and check around the 3 month mark and see if the prices have come down. Like I said, it works for me but I'm traveling to Laos and not your country. Good luck!

PS: I have just been quoted $1899 from ASAPtickets.com for January 26 as I am heading back to Laos to see my fiancee  I also use cheapOair.com as well. Again, I wish you the best

  2. It says we have 33 days to appeal the decision, otherwise, we will have to do everything again. (We will try our best and double check everything everything this time...)

I am not sure how long it will take to get our case reopen or it is better to apply for k-1 again?

    Anyone has experienced this before?

As a last ditch effort, you could call USCIS and ask for a Tier 2 Immigration Service Officer to speak with. Tell him/her what happened from the beginning (no evidence put in the packet with the petition). Ask if you can send the supporting evidence and see what they say. That's about all you can do at this point.

  3. Hi,

I received my NOA for on August 1, 2011 and have not heard any news since. I just called the customer service number and when I entered my case number, I was told that that case number could not be found. It doesn't seem that I can get through to an actual USCIS representative via the customer service number. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any suggestions as to how to speak to someone about the case?

Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Sarah

You should be hearing something in a few weeks is my guestimate. I received an RFE for initial evidence last month in December 2011 and sent it back in 2 days to which they received it. I had somehow missed answering a question just below the military question on the I-129F. I did an inquiry a few days back and I was told an officer would have a decision in a couple of weeks to a few weeks.

Sooooooooooooooooo, you should be hearing something soon since you did not have a RFE  May our approvals come very soon  Have a wonderful day!

  4. Hi guys,

So I still haven't heard anything from the USCIS regarding my K1 fiancé visa.

My NOA1 was received August 9th, it is now January 3rd and I still haven't heard a word.

I hear I am able to contact after 5 months to check the processing of this application?

It was sent to the Texas Service Centre and forwarded to the California Service Centre after the NOA1

    Please help... I'm going crazy!?!?!

    :(:help:

Hey our timelines are about the same. Only exception: my petition is filed at the vermont office while yours is in california. I think both of us will receive approval notices within the next few weeks  I had my congressman call the vermont office Jan 3rd. They told me an officer was looking at my documents and should reach a decision in a few weeks.

Personally, I feel like the decision will come sooner than that since I had the congressman call. I think it DOES help getting your congressman involved. In face, mine told me if I didn't hear anything by the end of January, to call them and they would do another inquiry

Pray for me and I will pray for you. Stay strong, be patient, and the approval will come soon :D

  5. Finally after almost 6 months, USCIS approved my petition my fiancee. It's an email I have been waiting for for sometime now and now that I finally know, I am ecstatic!! Too bad I feel "under the weather" now to celebrate. The wait is now over and time to move on to the second phase!!

Congratulations! So happy for you both  Hopefully we will receive ours anytime now  Yours and our timelines are very close. I will keep checking our USCIS case status several times a day. Again, congratulations and may your visa be in hand very soon

  6. nope, I didn't say I was okay with him watching porn, I said I knew he'd be watching since we have those channels -unless I had blocked them but of course I wouldn't go that far - what I mean is, we had talked about this 4 yrs ago and had made a commitment, and of course now this makes me wonder if he had been doing any other kind of stuff while I was away. He had been wanting to get a book on politics and I had amazon send it to him while I was back home and he was so thrilled by the surprise, I left him movie tickets too. Uff, If only people would use the time they spend on porn trying to improve themselves their relationships...

Being 4 years ago and you two had talked about this problem and had supposedly resolved it, then it resurfaces again is a BIG problem! In my personal opinion, your spouse has an addiction with porn. The fact that he even mentioned incest would concern me to say the least. I would think long and hard about having another child with him! He needs to go to a very good counselor and get help. Will he do it? I can't answer that question.

You see what happened to the great Tiger Woods. He was sleeping with a different woman almost at every stop of his PGA Tour schedule. I can't say for sure, but I bet Tiger started out watching porn, then it escalated to having extramarital affairs with 14 women! (that we know of).

If both people in any relationship watch porn together to "spice up" their sex life, then that's ok. But if one is having to watch porn on premium channels, going to rent/buy porn dvds by themselves while their significant other is gone, there IS a problem.

I'm sorry you're having to go through this. Pray for your husband, ask him to get help, talk to him without getting upset. Watch his actions. See if he gets mad or if he acts like he doesn't care. Just his body actions will tell you what he will do about this situation.

  7. Happiest New Year to everyone. I know for some they experienced a little bit of heaven as they snuggled with their partners. For some of us it was done over SKYPE. Others I'm sure were just alone. BUT... We are starting a new year and it is up to make it what we want. Sure this process puts a severe damper on things but hey.. let's make it awesome.

We are at day 253. We have no idea when that illusive NOA2 will be granted to us.

Let's have fun and give me your guess what the date will be for our NOA2

Thanks for all being here to help each other through some of the crappy days.

    I appreciate you all.

    Terri

    :dance::yes:(F)

I will say a prayer for you and yours after I have sent my "guestimate". I think you will receive your NOA2 on January 10, 2012 but I hope it comes before then. May god bless you both for your patience and perserverance

  8. You can create a timeline here and track your case (as well as get estimated approval dates and much more):

    <a href="http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/intro.php" target="_blank">http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/intro.php</a>

Once you create a timeline make sure to update it as your case progresses <img src="http://www.visajourney.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />.

Hey there and Happy New Year to you and yours! How can I put my timeline information to where it shows everytime I make a reply? Your assistance is greatly appreciated

  9. As 2011 goes on and 2012 starts, lets all be thankful for what we have and what we are all waiting for. To everyone Happy New Year and may we all get good news in 2012. This is truly a waiting to know someone holds your future in their hands but the truth is we all hold our futures in our hands or we wouldn't be here today. 2012 will be the year our prayers are answered.

    Happy New Year

Yes being thankful is definitely key  May we all have a safe New Year's Eve and may all of our petitions be approved in the very near future! Happy New Year everyone!

  10. I'm sitting quietly, dressing in the locker room last night after a gratifying workout, and my phone goes off with that lil mystical tone beckoning me with a text message, to GO CHECK YOUR CASE STATUS AT THE USCIS.GOV, because of some timely update....

...... just in time for a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

"Your Current Case Status for Form I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E):

    Post Decision Activity

On December 30, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have APPROVED this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)"

    ____________

So, that was just 11 days after uscis received my response to an RFE on the 19th.

So, that puts to rest the notion that the GOOD WORKERS AT THE USCIS DON'T GET ####### DONE OVER THE HOLIDAYS!

    ------------

    Dan! You must be next!

Congrats!!!! I was hoping for a New Year's eve present but I didn't get one :( It's gotta be soon and I can't wait to get this finished. I wish you and your loved one the very very best for the upcoming year and many many years to come!:D:thumbs:

  11. My wife covers up too, doesn't want to get dark either , even though I like it. Shoe's off before entering house too. She will never sit next to another male either, she will put me in between them. Didn't like sitting in the middle during cab or van rides.

Had to convince her to wear sunglasses, spent a lot of money here in the states on surgery to clear up the scar tissues built up on her eyes from over exposure to sun and wind.

Wow my wife will never sit next to another male as well, unless it's a family member only. Interesting about the scarring built up on her eyes. Once she is here, I will have her eyes checked for that since she can't see when driving at night. I did buy her prescription eyeglasses for night driving. Thanks for the info.

  12. I wanted to share some of the odd things my wife does. Share some of your stories.

    1. Sweeps the carpet with her small straw broom.

    2. Caught her cleaning the bath tub with a toilet brush.

    3. When taking pictures never a pic taken with 3 people.

    4. Refuses to use our brand new dishwasher. Most of our dishes are cleaned in cold water with extreme amounts of dish soap.

    5. Our son uses a bucket in the shower and doesn't turn on the shower head.

    6. Cleans her teeth before she eats, not after.

    7. When buying pants she measures the waist with her neck. Never seen this done before.

    8. Rarely likes to put food in the icebox after she cooks.

    9. Uses msg and sugar like it's going out of style."Guess she doesn't want me around for too long...lol"

10.Likes to squat on a chair instead of sitting while we eat dinner.

Despite all what I describe, I wouldn't change a thing and love her so much!!!!

    1. My fiancee measures pants using her neck as well:)

    2. Always uses cold water when showering..........never hot.

    3. Squats on the kitchen chair when eating all meals. (Unless she hears her father coming, then down come the feet lol).

    4. When driving, she will answer her cell phone only to say "I'm driving! Call back later." And then hangs up....she considers it impolite not to answer the phone.

    5. Never wears sunglasses.

    6. She uses plastic bags for everything!

    7. Wears long sleeve shirts, jeans, and uses an umbrella to go to town in the daylight. She doesn't want her skin to become dark.

    8. Always shoes off when entering the house.

She's adorable and I wouldn't want her any other way:) She definitely is my true love!

  13. Relax, take a deep breath..............now concentrate on the task at hand. Gather all information that you wish and take it with you. You will have several hours on the plane to get better organized with the evidence. I wish you two the best and early Happy New Year to you both!

  14. Thank you for that info. From what I understand they all have the possibility of denying entry, however unlikely, I really haven't the foggiest idea what POE would be the least formidable.

Yes, very true! All have the power to deny entry. From my studies on this website, LAX seems to be 50/50. However, as I was taught, you get a lot more with sugar than you do with vinegar  Also, I must agree with the senior member who said to check the country requirements for the person traveling. As with anything, double check to make sure ok?

  15. While in transit to the US is there any requirement of a transit visa? For example the itinerary has a stop over in Japan for 2 hours before coming here to the POE. Or is the K1 sufficient?

A transit visa would only be required if that person is intending to stay (in Japan for example) for 21 to 30 days. Layovers do not require a transit visa. Which POE are they coming to? I would like to know how that goes since I'm trying to decide which POE I want my fiancee to go through. Of course, the one with the least complications would be the one I would pick  Happy New Year to you in advance

  16. Welcome Eddie&A!!

I looked at your timeline and it seems like you're VERY close to receiving your NOA2, especially considering you had an RFE. You know the drill about being patient all too well already but I think your approval might just be around the corner. Good luck to you and yours whether it's received just before Christmas or just after it.

    Cheers!

Thanks Book Em! I appreciate the words of encouragement  It's December 26th now and I didn't recieve a NOA2 as of yet. I think it will be anytime now; my fingers/toes are crossed :D Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours

  17. Actually - it does not for a I-129F petition.

Since his beneficiary is living abroad - the beneficiary can sign it at the interview - and this will not result in a RFE.

Also - if the petitioner fails to sign the G-325 - the lack of their signature will not generate a RFE - since the I-129F is signed.

    Source

Thank you so much for this information. I was worried that there might be another RFE. Again, thank you.
