GF and/or OP have misunderstood lifting of conditions to be citizenship.

yes she lost the citizenship for divorce her ex husband. Because he wasn't agree to divorce and he hadn't sign any kind of divorce proceeding paper. Even he don't hire any attorney for himself while the divorce case was running. It was happend at Michigan, USA

No offense but that makes no sense. You don't lose your citizenship due to divorce and get it replaced with a green card.

Either she never became a citizen or she is still a citizen.

Sorry, you're wrong. Smoking weed is a US federal crime. Plenty of people on this forum gave been given one year visa bans for such actions. "Harder" drugs might've landed a lifetime ban. Drug use = drug abuse, that's just the terminology.

Lying or withholding information during visa processing is certainly not the right thing to do - and I fully support the OP's decision to be honest and let the Dr and consulate decide.

How does smoking weed being a federal crime relevant to this question about drug abuse? What is the legal definition of drug abuse? Are you a lawyer? Is someone who smoked weed once considered an abuser?

To the OP - I'd be more worried about this post than anything you said to a doctor. In either case, consult a lawyer since there could be major consequences depending on how you answer the questions.

Hi all,

My wife had her interview last week and was approved. We're now waiting for the oath date.

Is there any way to check the schedule of oath ceremonies so we can get an idea of when to expect it? We'd like to travel next month but obviously I don't want to make any reservations until this process is complete.

My field office is San Jose.

I wish they would just give the option to take the oath after completing the interview.

Exactly what OGForever2014 stated.

Immigration is not a life event however marriage is. And it can be used as evidence of relationship.

You have to decide whether you're okay with waiting for open enrollment and potentially leave your spouse uninsured or not, once he/she immigrates.

I was able to add my husband to my insurance without any problems. My HR rep told me that getting married is a life event, but moving to the US is not. So I needed to either add him right after we got married or wait until open enrollment which is in November. I know I still have a long way to go until the visa is approved, but this way my hubby has insurance once he get here and I won't have to potentially wait for several month to add him. Plus an immigration attorney I spoke with said adding him to my health insurance can be good evidence of our relationship.

I was able to do it. I called the benefits administrator our company was using and they were able to add my spouse without a SSN. I forget what exactly they used but it was something like 000-00-0000.

My wife was in a similar situation where the DMV refused to renew her DL once her conditional green card expired - even though we had the NOA1 from the AOS stating that she had been granted residency for another year.

Long story short, after being screwed by the DMV office in Sacramento, I dug up the email address for the DMV Director who reports to the Governor of California. Within minutes of sending my email, her staff reached out to me to apologize and resolved the issue.

Does your NOA1 explicitly state that it grants you legal status? If so, PM me and I can give you a contact of who to email. You would need to send a scan of your NOA1 along with proof that you passed the written and driving tests.

HI VJ members!

I entered US on a K1 visa in end of march. I married after a few days and end of April I got my marriage certificate. Yesterday I sent my I-485, I-765, I-131. Before that, I went DMV (CA) in mid April and got my driving permit. Today I went for behind the wheel and passed that too. When I went to the counter they told me they cannot issue me a licence because my legal presence in US is till end of June and that is less than 60 days away. They require my proof of legal presence in US after June which I cannot provide at this time. I will get NOA1 from USCIS for my submitted I-485 soon, can I use that as my proof of legal presence in US after June? I have to drive on daily basis but I am totally confused as DMV wont give me anything in writing. I passed written and behind the wheel tests but I am still unable to get licence. Any suggestions? Can I still drive based on my passed result?

Seems like the processing time for this entire process is much longer in California.

SF, SJ, Santa Ana, San Diego, etc are behind vs. offices in other states. I've been waiting in line since Feb 25 and still waiting.

Hi All,

I completed my FP on Feb 2nd, since Feb 4th my application is stuck in "In-Line Waiting for Interview Schedule" sin. My field office is San Francisco.

In January 2016 forum, I don't see any other SF folks. Not many folks in other forums also. Is two months waiting normal for some field offices?

Is there anyway we can find what is going on with the application, when they will be able to schedule it?

Priority date is in in your I-797C (Notice Of Action) form.

The very first form you have received from USCIS. Hard copy. Usually priority date is the same as received date.

FYI, I got an email/txt on 1/22 about acceptance of my packet and my case #. Haven't entered that in because I haven't received physical letter yet.

Resubmitted the photos and with the grace of God, my wife got a call from the couriers 9 days later to pick up her passport with visa!

This is a definite abuse of power because he cannot force you to adhere to his own rule about passport photos. I have my USA driver's license with my hijaab on and the woman there had to look up in her book to make sure it was ok, and guess what? it was more than ok. As long as your wife wears it every day for her religion, no one can tell her to take it off for a picture. There is no requirement that her ears must be showing, unless she does not wearing a covering every day for religious reasons. This CO may be new and is trying to follow the usual requirement that ears and hairline must be showing, but it does NOT apply to hijaabis and other types of religious head covers.

I probably could/should have clarified that this is her "normal dress" and religious practice. I figured being at the embassy in Pakistan, the CO would already be well aware of this fact -- specially since she was observing hijab at the interview and the photos submitted to USCIS/NVC stapled to the top of her packet in front of him also had her observing hijab.
