Hello all of my friends whose case completed on sep2011 and still waiting to hear good

news of interview.I know it is very painful time for each of us December is already full

now we don't have even hope for Dec, but you know there is no use crying over the split milk,

let us have courage and wait patiently (though it is really not possible, I know my own condition)

for January.At this point of time we need to be united and badly need the support of our

senior member/Expert like Dave and Navyk.My case completed on 28th of Sep and I am impatiently

waiting for the interview date

I think Mumbai consulate is done with the December Interview!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!now wait for new year.......

If you are a regular VJ user and visit different forums and post regularly then definitely this is a much better option that hiring a lawyer the difference is that here you are getting the same advice that too for free...

Normally it takes 30 to 45 days to assign a NVC case number at least wait for a month.You can also give them a call ..it is always advisable to be in regular touch. I hope you will hear from them by the mid of this month

Please complete you timeline as it will be helpful for others !

Is your file still on station at the NVC? If so then you should call them ASAP and get them to reassign it to New Delhi.

If the file has left the NVC, then you will have to contact the Embassy in New Delhi and first see if they will accept your file. If they do, then they will have to send a formal request to the Consulate in Mumbai to have your file transferred.

Ryan I am from Calcutta not New Delhi...they have assigned me Bombay,

so can i ask them to change it to New Delhi?? as it will be a bit closer to me than Bombay.

Finally we are in USA :dance: and together after around 7 months and 3 trips to India. Yesterday night we landed at Houston and the Immigration work took around an hour, because they didn't have my wife's details in the system yet. Finally they wrote the details and stamped her passport and congratulated us. My parents and other family friends were there to welcome us - it is a sweet welcome and we enjoyed it. We will be going to my place this coming Saturday.

NVC made the same mistake in my case. My case started with BMB but we are from Hyderabad. I spoke with the NVC Operator and got the case number changed to MDR. Because it is MDR, I got October date (the guys from Mumbai that completed their cases before mine are still waiting for interview, where as my wife landed in US yesterday).

I strongly suggest that you do it to get it transferred to Calcutta, as you will get a early date for interview at Calcutta. When you speak with the NVC Operator, confirm the address of the foreign spouse as given in I-130 petition and they will change the center in 5 business days.

To be on the safer send as many proofs as you can and also the more proofs you send at this easier it will at the time of interview while sending the proofs by careful you are not sending the originals as you will be needing it at the time of interview.Good Luck:)

When you are Married then why you want to apply for K1 visa.By doing so you might get in trouble at some stage for hiding information.Its more advisable for you to apply for CR1.
