  1. I know how it is always best and never hurts to be present outside the interview. But I was just wondering about any of you whom could not make it to the interview due to not being able to take time off from work etc, still had Guangzhou approve the visa?

Wonder what was said when they may have asked "where is your spouse?" and maybe asked "why is your spouse not with you outside?"

I last saw my wife last month, I have visited her already 4 times this year and all those travel records were already front loaded and reloaded and also will add more to her case file divider briefcase that she will bring to the window.

I heard that some consulates (Ecuador?) give out automatic denials for visas if the US citizen could not make it to accompany the spouse at the time of interview.

Even if I cannot make it, I still will send her temporarily my Passport via EMS with a local california notarized 3rd revised/updated EOR letter.

    My case is a CR1.

See, as you have already visited 4times a year so it won't hurt if you are not able to make it at the time of interview. 4 visit in a year is more than enough. In fact at most of the embassy husband is not allowed to enter the consulate.

  2. interview of Sis Tphatak at new consulate of Mumbai

    Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

I reached the Consulate at 7 AM to find a long long queue. They started taking us inside the building at 7:15AM. We got our token numbers and were screened for contraband articles. No cell phones allowed inside the building and I had to throw some long forgotten medicines that were in my purse.

The we all were made to sit in this big hall where you sit facing the multiple windows where the interviews are conducted. Then when my token number was called out I went to this window and my passport was taken from me. Also the original documents that I had submitted to the NVC were returned to me. I was asked a few questions about my previous US visits like why I had been there and if I was married in the US.

Then began the 5 hour wait for my interview. Yes 5 hours. So please be there early so that your interview finishes early. I would say, be there by 6:15 or 6:30 so that you are first in line.

My main interview was with this American Visa Officer. It lasted for 3 minutes. Yes I timed it.

    The Questions:

    1) Where did you meet your husband?

    2) Did you have a traditional wedding ceremony?

    3) How was the ceremony conducted?

    4) Why are you not wearing sindoor?

    5) Please show me some wedding pictures.

    6) Where does your husband work?

    7) What is his work specialty?

    8) What is your work specialty?

Madam your visa has been approved!!!!j(\\\'\\\')

Then I went to the VFS at 5 PM but my passport was not ready. Will go again today and will hopefully have it by evening.

There is no place for relatives to wait except for the 5 star Hotel Trident just beside the Consulate. My parents had the most expensive coffee of their life there yesterday. Rs 225 for 1 coffee!!!!

Also inside the Consulate there is no coffee machine or nothing that you can eat. I was starving since 5 AM. So have a hearty breakfast. Leave early from home so you reach early for the queue. I had left early but my driver got diarrhea (\'\') and so we got delayed and so my interview got delayed.

    Alls well that ends well!

  3. I just wrote my wife's highest education she has a degree (B.Sc.) in with the dates she started and completed the degree, and then I also included the program she currently was in ( M.Sc ) at the time and left that portion as unfinished in the finish date slot.

I did not even deal with highschool or the other lower standards...

Just list the highest degree he/she has earned and you should be fine.

Yup that is fine I too mentioned only my B.Tech degree

Beginning of Dec and Fresh new hope :):):)

  4. I just called NVC tonight and the operator said they were not able to schedule us an interview for December. I am so upset. I do not know what to think? Does this mean I have to wait another month to hear again they were not able to schedule an interview for January?? Why are other people getting interview dates within a week or two after closing at NVC?

Please let me know what they tell you the next time you call. I am so disppointed. :crying::crying:

It all depends on your country and how busy your consulate are.....my case completed in September and no dec date for me....still waiting to hear about January :(:(:(

  5. Really sad to know about you....

You should be thankful to GOD that all these happened before her AOS interview. When she has cheated you why you will help her in anyways....you should have informed the USCIS right at the moment she turned away with another guy....I guess you should appear in interview alone and let them know the whole episode and I am sure there must be someone waiting for you much much better than her....

  6. My husband submitted his DS-260 online on November 7. We received an email saying all documentation had been received necessary to continue processing and that we'd be notified when the interview date was scheduled.

    I. AM. GOING. CRAZY.

I just want to know when it is! If it's not going to be for a long time, I would at least like to be able to go see him for Christmas or New Years, but if it's going to be like the beginning of January, it wouldn't make much sense to go twice in such a short amount of time.

Any advice on dealing with the wait? We've already been apart another 3 months since I last saw him and we've only seen each other a whopping 24 days in the 8 months that we've been married.

Please tell me it gets easier!

Anyone have any idea how long it takes after all papers are submitted until you get the date of the interview for Mexico??

Congrats!!! Great News.....Keep in touch with NVC and I am sure you will soon hear the Good News....the waiting period varies from country to country and even embassy to embassy so you can get a clear picture if you do a bit of research work on the interview being scheduled in your country and your consulate.

I am an Indian and my consulate is Mumbai my case completed in Sep 2011 and there is no interview date available for me this year hopefully i will get an interview date in january 2012.

  7. yup it feels good whenever i think that soon we all will have the most awaited news.....but it hurts a lot by thinking that there was not a single date for us in 2011???? My husband has been delaying his visit (because of my interview date)since the beginning the August now it hurts more each day,I can't even meet him this year.He went back just after one month of our wedding and I am missing him like hell...
